Transparency - Desire Themes and Apps

Hi there,
Im just wondering how i would go about making the windowshade transparent. PaYs roms had it for eclair, but none of the froyo roms have it. Is it a limitation of something?
Thanks,
Josh.

PaYs icons and black notification bar on Cyanogen?

Has anyone done it yet? That would be like almost perfect ROM. Cyanogen is very nice, but it's very ugly, can't stand it
If you didn't bash one of Androids hero's by saying his work is ugly... and you cannot stand it. You might get a better resonse... boooo to you sir!
Isn't cyanogen stock? If so it can lok a bit drab, hes not insulting the developer, he just thinks stock android could do with a nice looking taskbar. I'll see what happens if I install a nexus theme on desire cm.
I have no intention in flaming, but damn, bashing you say?
UI of Cyanogen is definitely no Android's hero's work since it is, with few exceptions (such as livewallpaper), basically a vanilla Android. I said it is a very nice ROM, didn't i? I simply can't stand those horrendous icons and white win3.11 notification bar [of a vanilla Android].
Speaking of heros, Steve repeatedly ignored my question about Cyanogen on Desire. I am not taking it personally of course, but i think you are here trying to take things to a personal level. Too old for this, really

I think I tried (so many things that I tried so i am not even sure, hee hee) Formel's update but ended up in an endless boot loop. I guess ahmgsk did some modifications to framework-res etc as well so it simply doesn't work. Didn't try his v1.5 CM mod though.

Cyanogenmod vs MCR of modaco

hey i was wodnering wich one you think its better?im using a cm 5.0.8 and its cool and stable and since froyo its out cm its making a great effort to compile and take time to get a stable and cool rom, and its ok i undertsand. in other hand we can see paul already has mcr for froyo i dont have enough time to flash roms since of work im out all day and this days i even woerk saturday and sunday are for GF
so im wondering wich one you prefer?im semi new on android perhaps i already have some apps, backups rooted phone i know a little adb and so on. so
wich one you like more? CM or MCR?
Oh gawd - what kind of answers do you expect to that question?
i personally liked mcr 21 but cm6 should be out soon so i would wait for that.
These are 2 completely different ROMs. Modaco philosophy is being as close to stock as possible with some good additions. Cyanogen is all about tweaks, performance gains, customization, etc. If you like stock then go with modaco.

Try Artemis ROM. Very fast, stable and close to stock ROM philosophy and updating very frequently. Oh, and BTW also very battery friendly!

BTW why should someone change ROM? What is the advantage of changing ROM? I'm really happy with my stock ROM. I have apllied Cookies Home Tab manilla Mod and I think my Phone is perfect now.
Is it really that bis advantage?
I mean i can add apps by myself, Themes and Designs can also be applied by myself.
Is the boost really that big of customs roms?
Look here.

Custom ROMs get rid of carrier bloatware and provides built-in eye-candy (so you don't have to do everything yourself). Chefs also (usually) add their own tweaks/speed boosts that really optimize performance.
I'm sure others can provide more examples of how a custom ROM benefits over a stock ROM.

Stock Android Home - Rogers 2.1

Is there a way to remove Sense and add stock Android Home to new 2.1 rom from Rogers? And if yes,how can i do that?
I know that i can remove Rosie from this rom,but there is no stock home in there.
Try ADW or Launcherpro, they are amazingly customizable. Bad thing though, is you cant use HTC widgets
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G using XDA App
Yea I know but i dont need home replacement,i want to remove all Sense apps. And use Android ones.
if you don't want the SenseUI, why don't you try any stable Froyo 2.2 ROMs,
try CM5.0.8, it is pretty cool
Well am not sure why but battery is a lot better on 6.35 radios, and i like how stable that Rogers rom is.So that is the reason, and please no more questions about that.
If someone know the answer to question i asked let me know.
i am actually working on a rom which is basically a 2.1 sense with out all the sense lol
Basically im taking out all the widgets and rosie, and then im going to put in ADW, launcher pro, and touchwiz launcher. Also will have apps2sd etc..
right now im still testing it out , but hopefully i will have it done soon
Thats not really answer to my question but good to know.

Partial answer is here -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802753
However, camera is not working (may others).
I gave up on digging more into kernel due to limited time resource. But, experts' sugguestions are always welcomed.

Are the available Roms ..True Roms?

Guys I dont know if im making sense but i see alot of so called roms in the dev section. Are these Themed roms? or True Roms where touchwiz is trully disabled and still not running in the background?
Hope im making sense!
Reading the OP for each posted ROM will probably answer the question.

Some of them have it removed, while some of them have it as an option. Either way it's incredibly easy to remove it completely from the system. I guess I'm not really sure what your definition of a "true" rom is, all the ones in the dev section take sammy's firmware and make it leagues better. We won't have an AOSP rom until froyo drops.

No, even the ones with Touchwiz apps replaced or deleted are still built off the Touchwiz platform. There is no true AOSP rom right now, and probably won't be until 2.2 drops. Many are working on it, and ready to kick into high gear when 2.2 drops, as well as it's been stated there will be CyanogenMod support for it post-2.2.
ok thanks guys.
