I'm wondering if there is such a app for parity checks like par2 of gpar2 for linux.

Hi,
I couldn't find a [q/a] section to put this but.... I was just wondering if there was any application that could take regular windows 7 or below "legacy" windows program and allow it to be run in a "metro mode". Something like Mozilla's chromeless project but instead executes the program metro style. Is there a way to do this? I got the thought when I saw Google chrome for windows 8 and how it looked just like the desktop version but ran in metro.

The only apps that can do that are browsers (And only when they are set as the default browser afaik).
You can use the metro RDP client and RemoteApps in Metro if you want.
"Wrapping" an app like you mention isn't really possible. I don't know how much you know about the way software works, but basically there's a bunch of standard code used for making "windows" that apps run in. These "libraries" are used with almost every app that creates its own window, even ones that don't use the normal Windows chrome at all. These libraries aren't available to TIFKAM (The Interface Formerly Known As Metro) apps, so the legacy apps won't even launch - the OS literally fails to load them. In theory you could create "fake" versions of those libraries which create the desired UI using TIFKAM elements, but the scale of that project would be incredible and I don't even know if it would work.
Then there's the sandbox problem... TIFKAM apps run with extremely limited permissions, much lower than the normal user permissions. This is going to cause problems for pretty much every non-trivial legacy app, which are used to being able to do things like access the Application Data folders and HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry.
If you were feeling adventurous you could make an app that has a non-metro broker that starts the app in the background fullscreened and streams screencaps to a Metro app, and mouseclicks away from a Metro app. I've seen apps (Like this one) that do it in DirectX overlays for games, so it should be theoretically possible for a Metro app to do this.
Note that such an app would never get approved into the MS store, since it would require a non-metro broker to escape Metro's permissions lock.
After getting Iron Man 3 on DVD, I saw that there's a JARVIS app for iOS, and I'm desperate to have something cool like that on my phone (you can easily see what phone I have at the bottom). I'm wondering if it's at all possible to turn an IPA file into an apk file NY hand, as in, open the IPA app in some sort of ipa development program on your computer, then recreate it in an apk development program on the same computer. It makes sense, since apps have to be developed (even if I have no idea how it's done... "IF"). If I'm crazy, tell me now and close the thread, but if I'm not, someone give me a little info on the matter so I can commission xboxexpert (I forget if that's how you spell his handle) to convert the IPA for me in his free time.

No. You cannot just convert ipa into apk. But its more simple for you to get jarvis . Just search "JARVIS" in play store.
Not possible to port ios apps to android
ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO PORT IOS APPS TO ANDROID !!!!!!!!
* First resaon is that mainly android apps are built in java whereas ios apps are built in objective-C.
* Android apps run on DVM (Dalvik Virtual Machine ).
FEW TRICKS TO PORT
* If u have source code of ios app then you can use android ndk to port your ios app.
* Few third party sdk are available that directly ports ios apps to ios and ios to android.
But main pain in the neck is that it makes the app buggy and slow.
THIS is third party sdk to convert ios apps to android.

I have a small app. And for testing, I want to record what people do in the app. What I mean, I would like to log every button press, swap etc in my app, so later I can do most popular "scenarios" using UIautomator for testing.
Is there any library for that? I have tried Google, but there was only some B2B company, and UIautomator uses adb for capturing events.
Have you tried using the Google Analytics API? This should be exactly what you are looking for.

The most straightforward way I can think of with the SDK is just to make some subclasses of things like
Code:
View.OnClickListener
and do some custom logging in there. Then use them in place of the standard ones.
But unless you have some custom data analysis tools setup, you probably won't get much out of the data. Google Analytics doesn't have event funnels AFAIR.
Anyone know of an app that would allow completion/adding of tasks following the todotxt.com todo list from an Android Wear watch?
The only app that looks remotely capable is Clockwork Tomato, but that includes the Pomodoro technique, and its unclear if the todo.txt appears on the watch.
I would imagine the watch app would look at the todo.txt on your phone & interact that way. Apps like SimpleTask on Android can use Dropbox to ship around the todo.txt file.
How and what is the best service to emulate my Android app on a web client and does it have production value (does the UI of the emulator worth something) ? We want to grant access to our android app to all users(ios etc.) Does a good solution exsits without create an ios app as well?
