Hi, does anyone know of a way to disable the flip (face down) mute feature on Desire? Stock. I have my phone in front pocket on trains and at desks and find I keep missing calls. Or is there an app to disable this?

Not sure if this topic would be in this forum or not...but I've noticed quite a few of the roms I've tried (celb2.1, white widow, kaosfroyo) all have a drag to silent phone feature on the lock screen. The only one I noticed that switches it to VIBRATE instead of just plain silent though is kaos....any idea how to change this function in say...celb2.1?
U have to change ur vibrate options in settings sounds

I am interested in trying to get the vibrate function working on Aloysius's lockscreen also instead of the sound off, there is no vibrate option in settings sound however, any ideas?
I just use the volume rockers on the side. One tick above silent is vibrate only.
I would be interested to know if you could change the slide to silent to slide to vibrate as well.
All I did to enable the slide for vibrate feature is make sure phone vibrate is checked in your settings under sounds and display

That didn't work for me, i checked it but nothing changed w the lockscreen. I don't know if its a different lockscreen.apk or a setting.

Click to collapse
Same here.
I think this might be Froyo thing as when I was using Eris Lightning Bolt it would only go to silent mode

I was about to post this question when I saw this thread. I searched google and found other sites where the accepted solution was to use gestures instead of the slide. Or to use widget locker. Apparently there is no way to turn it off.
Does anyone know how to disable is by using root access to delete a driver or something?
I am using lock menu program, you can download it from the market. In its options you can disable vibrate on unlock
It's probably my #1 annoyance with the current android build. GIVE US THE OPTION TO TURN THAT SSSS OFF!
With that said, yea, you can either disable the slider and use gesture lock or widget locker. Personally, I dont want to install more crap just to get rid of the vibration, so I went ahead and use the built in gesture lock instead.
Trying to figure out how to disable widget locker when in a call. I have it working for an incoming call but can't find the setting /variable for outgoing calls.
Also, any good explanations of this app in regards to contexts, tasks etc? I know it can do a lot. Any personal feedback?
Thanks

I don't have widgetlocker, but maybe try disabling it everytime you load the dialer app?
I like your thinking. Thanks for the input. What kind of profiles do your use with tasker yourself?
Turn WiFi On When Home - using Cell Near because GPS eats battery
LockScreen Off When Charging
Load Music App When Headphones Plugged In
Put on Vibrate during my classes (reading them from a google calendar)
I've been meaning to create a lost phone profile, but every walkthrough I find is crazy long and i'm too lazy to create all the steps.

Is there a way to lock a Widget? I am loooking to have a Menu widget and lock it with the pattern lock. Anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks!
Mike
I just switched to T-Mobile from Sprint, got myself a G2X and my girl a Mytouch 4G. Is it possible to disable vibrate on the stock dialer? We had this same problem on our previous phones (HTC Hero) and I thought they would include the option to disable it by now.
JUST for the dialer or when pressing pressing anything altogether? I'm not sure if you can for just the dialer.
Just for the dialer, but if disabling vibrate completely is possible, she would be willing to go that way.

I was looking in the wrong place. The setting is located in sound settings.

I'd like the phone to still vibrate so I can determine on a case by case basis whether it's worth picking up. Putting my phone on vibrate isn't a solution, because I still want my priority notifications to sound while keeping others silenced... But phone calls, I want to still be able to feel even when I can hear them.
Is that possible? I was using my phone and didn't even realize I was missing a phone call since DND was on...

Has anybody made an app to put custom vibrations on certain contacts?
I am a v10 user so maybe it is different but you can set priorities for favorite contacts only long press do not disturb mode from notification panel.
Press select priorities, set to favorite

Sorry I realize I misread your post.

I think I'm just going to use a macro to schedule my phone to vibrate instead of using DND mode. Guess I'll just reserve for that for when I'm sleeping rather than when I'm sleeping and working. I don't like the idea that I could so easily miss an important call.
