Could it be, that after a hard reset, or even after flashing a device, there are still the same software related problems you had before you have done a hard reset/flash?
For instance; I installed CHT 1.8.5 and had huge screen unlock problems; like many, I was having screen response problems with CHT 1.7.1, but I seemd to have solved them by changing the preferences for automatic light adjustment and sometimes taking out my 16 GB SD card.
So when I couldn't unlock my phone I hard reset my HD2, but still the screen wouldn't respond. I reflashed stock ROM 1.66 and the problem still remained. So next I took out my SD card, which seemed to help once, but most of the time it didn't, pressed the buttons and screen, this sometimes helped, but not always either and last time I exchanged my 16 GB card by my old 4 GB card and that made it work again.
Now my phone is running on CHT 1.7.1, I'm using the CHT lock screen and I have my automatic light adjustment set to 'off'. I'm not having any problems now.
So this somehow seems software related after all, but it persists when hard resetting and even flashing the phone. Is this possible, because after having put back a backup it now seems to run fine?

I have owned a JasJam for almost 3 weeks. the device was a little quirky during the first week or so but no major repeatable issues. Then my big issues began. 4 hard resets later I'm trying to decide if it's worth it.
I began having random lockups. that is if I turned the device to standby with the top right side button then when I tried to turn back on the device would be locked up. if I pushed the button more than once it would cause a soft reset or I would have to soft reset to get back on. the problem mainly happens with a micro sd card in place. Mainly happens when some sort of notification ocurrs or if the device is in fringe reception area.
the second weird problem is that the screen backlight will just come on even if I have manually put the device into standby, very much like the 6700 problems with another HTC device. Often I can put the device back to standby with the side button and within 3 - 4 seconds the backlight will come right back on. the only way to break the loop / cycle is to soft reset.
I have Phone Alarm but I have disabled it and the problems still ocurr.
I've tried everything! any ideas?
I ran MemMaid to make sure that there weren't duplicate notifications.
I currently am trialing an 8525 to see if it s possibly hardware (or atleast ROM) related.
Similar issue
I too also experience this issue with my JasJam. I am on the Optus Network (which causes problems unto itself) I have a a 1Gb ULTRA SD card in it also. And yes periodically I need to reset the device by pulling the Battery as it dosen't respond to anything.
Strangely I have a Dopod 838Pro (No SD Card and on Vodafone) and it does not suffer these problems.
Let me know if you find out anything as it would help me with getting the JasJam properly Operational.
Thanks,
Paul.
at this point I am sending mine back to iMate for repair
I think it may be a ROM issue in that the 8125 that I am trialing has not locked up in the first 36 hours a single time!
I have a trinity and until Friday loved it. Suddenly it has started to automatically reboot itself every 2 minutes or so.
I have loaded NO new software or changed any settings for months. But reviewing the drop menu I see 2 SPB software icons have now gone blank. SPB Traveller and SPBWallet. I assume it is a software problem even though have worked fine for 8 months.
I have deleted the software but still have problem. I also still have the two blank icons on menu.
Tried a Hard Reset but cannot reset. Tried a soft reset but will not action the reset button.
Absolutely frustrated as it just loops and even the old Hard Reset is not working. Anyone had similar or heard of a way to fix?

Im having a similar problem with my spv m700 most of the time phone works fine then just reboots for no apparent reason (phone does it even when sat in car holder so cant accidently press a button). sometimes just does it the once other times it reboots 5 or 6 times and others it reboots a couple of times then crashes at the orange screen and has to be reset. mainly seems to do it while running tomtom but that could just be because it runs that most of the time anyway hasnt done it while making a call yet.
phone is running
radio 1.56.70.11
rom ver 6.1.21054
wm6.1 ceos 5.2.21054 classic edition by tomme45i (have tried other os versions but problem remains)
any help ideas would be much appreciated
Do you use bluetoth head set?
Is the software (spb) intaled on main memory or storage card?
no i dont use bluetooth and the software is installed in main memory
left tomtom off today and phone still reboots? so dont think its a tomtom problem also doesnt matter if the phone is pluged in or not still the same
Hi!
I have a weird problem with my Hermes. But no idea to solve this.
Sometimes my PDA starts to work a little weird, for example - objects in Pocket Outlook are unavailable, call registry doesn't work, ActiveSync on PDA causes error which cannot be fixed.
And after soft-reset (turn off and turn on) WM is being hard reset. I'm using QuePPC's WM builds and any of them has the the same weird thing. But I'm not so sure if doesn't happen on any ROM.
Whatever - sometimes only little parts of data are cleared - last time the PDA reset, some programs are still available. Earlier (a few months ago) I had hard reset as I described but I used stylus to reset before customization began. My data was still present. And I completely have no idea what's coming on.
There are a few weeks when everything works fine and then PDA's data gets crashed.
Is that a software problem? Or Flash ROM semiconductor? Any ideas on this?
Cheers!
Flash a stock rom then reflash the wm6.5 yo want... It has something to do with memory allocation and flashing the stock rom 1st seems to fix this...
Done so, hope it helps to my TyTN.
Whatever, big thanks and have tasty beer; I've totally overlooked such a thing.
I've tried a search but only threads with 1000+ replies are coming up and it's impossible to find an answer.
I'm running the latest energy rom and have been for about 3+ weeks. Nothing new has happened on the phone recently, it just decided this morning that sense would not load. I've tried resetting, replacing battery, sim, storage card, red button reset and no change. Must have reset at least 20 times.
Is there a way to fix sense without a hard reset?
something must of been installed, deleted, corrupted
I had a problem installing .NET and CHT which resulted in Sense not loading. Had to do a factory reset (hold volume buttons etc) because nothing would get around it.
Yeah there seems to be no response to dead sense. I've removed the energy rom and gone back to leon
go to all setting, today, and tick sense.
anyone else with this problem? i decided to stop using wp7 after a couple of auto - hard reset after every 4-5 days of usage and countless hours of deploying side applications and dreadful unlocking chevrons and activation codes and etc... %@$%
SIGH.
anyone who can solve this problem is much appreciated.
i once had this issue, too: turned my hd2.7 on in the morning, had a look at the display and voila - all settings are gone to factory state (brown tiles, english lanquage, all my apps were gone, too....) first time i was shocked; but then i discovered that this behaviour was the result of the non-compatibility of my sd-card! i switched my device off, pulled out the sd-card, re-inserted it directly after pulling it out and as i startet my hd2.7 again, all settings, apps and data were back!!!!! seemes to me, that any sort of cache or ram partition on the card runs into full after a few days of continouus using the device, and then the card disappears from the raid-system, looking to the user like performing a hard-reset... it's just like you would have startet your divice without the card insertet then.
for me, the solution was to buy a stated-as-compatible sandisk 8gb class 2 card - now all my wp7 problems are gone away
thank you my mannn!
edit: it doesnt work, it keeps auto reboot before even entering the home (tiles). and sumtimes when it gets in, it is factory resetted.
