Brightness Settings in Android Cupcake? - Android Software Development

I want to modify a ROM to put in brightness settings.
The target ROM is Cupcake based.
Is there a file I can use to adjust the brightness ranges for the screen? Or is the in the board files of the kernel source?
If I don't have access to kernel source, is there a framework based workaround?
Any help would be appreciated

NOTE: Only for Gen2, ie plates that have been upgraded to 2.2
This is a build that corresponds to a "nightly" but it is highly unofficial!
It's Android 2.3.4 in the bottom but it works with Google Apps from 2.3.3, available here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.ph...Latest_Version, However, I have crafted a corresponding Google Apps package with 2.3.4 version on: http://www.mediafire.com/?83iusm6b08nv3cn (Try this first, but if it causes trouble, try the "official" from the CM (link above)

Changelog
2011-05-27: Telephone sound should now always be redirected to external speaker. I also removed hdpi since it's used at density 240 (which nobody is using, right?)
2011-05-25: Now hopefully there's a working screen calibration app.
2011-05-24: Added bitmaps for ldpi and hdpi. Gets calibration data from /system/etc/pointercal
2011-05-21: Better autobrightness levels and lockscreen turned off.
2011-05-20: First version
Hints
Go into Settings-> CyanogenMod Settings-> Display and turn on the 180-degree rotation.
If you want to turn on the lockscreen goto Settings-> CyanogenMod Settings-> Tablet tweaks
Under Lockscreen->Style options->Lockscreen style you can change to Sliding Tab, that doesn't look as bad as the Rotary options

[Q] adding cpu governor

I have omni sources cloned and setup to build the kernel for my Xperia V.
The kernel sources are cloned from the dev of the rom I am using NeoWave 1.2.2 for xperia V
I can build a fully working kernel fine, but when adding new cpu governors, they just don't show up...
everything is included in all the relevant files, Kconfig, Makefile, cpufreq.h, cpufreq_xxx, and ....defconfig..
strange thing is if I run a standard make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=....../arm-eabi- on the same source, they show up and work fine, the only problem being that my build doesn't use the vendor/blobs for my device..
Does anyone know something simple I'm missing, or alternatively a way I can add the vendor blobs directly to my source and just do a standard make?
I'm fairly new to all this...
To answer my own question, it seems that the governors also need to be specified in the cm_xxxx_defconfig file.. That confused me as i have added a module to <device>_defconfig file and it built fine!!

A5 2017 custom rom for j700f - fm and permissive kernel would be cool

Hi,
I am talking about those custom rom here..
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/development/rom-a5-2017-rom-galaxy-j75-t3531018
A recompiled kernel that is permissive would ber really great. The one currently provided there is a user version with no compile time modification to allow any existing methods (like setenforce command or a boot time script to set from file) to toggle it.
Also i wonder how can i use samsung radio with this. I found the library files all right. Tried to manually introduce the apk with proper permissions. But system logs kept throwing errors with fc. A5 has fm too. Why can't we use it then ?
Is it possible to use j7 kernel with this rom?
I know it's a lot of questions. Hope the devs would kindly respond. Thanks.
Ps. The colour inversion works which is great really. Thanks for all the hard work.

Need ZenParts Flashable Zip

ZenParts is a utility that enables ZenMotions & Zen tweaks such as Audio Gain, Vibration strength, etc.
I've been searching ZenParts module for my X00TD (Max Pro M1). I'm planning to use it on Lineage OS which obviously don't come with it.
There are also ROMs out there that include ZenParts, but I need the module so that I can use on the Non existed ROMS too.
Posting such files or links is appreciated !
There's also github source code for it?
https://github.com/saurabhchardereal/ZenfoneParts/blob/master/README.md
Can anyone compile the code & make a flashable zip if possible.

You can't make a flashable zip because it need the device tree --> need to build a new ROM.
