I don't see 4G coverage for NY yet at:
http://shop.sprint.com/en/stores/popups/4G_coverage_popup.shtml
Have you run speedtests?
Still not getting any 4G in East Elmhurst/ Jackson Heights area
No 4G in Brooklyn
I was in Manhattan this eve and it was working when I posted this thread. I am in east elmhurst now and its not working I had 3 bars on queens boro bridge. I'll try again today when I goto Manhattan.
I think they had it on at night for testing purpose. YouTube was loading in a snap.
nothing at 38th and 5th in manhattan
Nothing at Exchange Place in Jersey City (same towers as downtown Manhattan).
Nothing here
No 4g on 12th and broadway.
Here is the proof. Today!

If you want to know when 4g will be in your area just check with Clear Wireless. Their high speed wireless is bought from sprint wimax according to the Sprint near me in Philadelphia.
How come no one else is picking it up just confirmed it works on queens blvd until bqe.

if you live in downtown boston, you will see 4G flickering on and off.
Boston common was also just lit up as well.
Most of downtown boston is already covered.
Good progress!
So what
Massachusetts is a major hub it should have been up and running a while ago. I been with Sprint for more than a couple of years and I remember seeing banners in their stores featuring 4g a year ago. And, when asked about it, "its new and its better than 3g" nothing else. Mind you its about a year ago i was told this by sprint rep on Boylston Street store.
im excited, boston getting 4g is one step closer for burlington vt to get it..but i wont hold my breath on that one

[Q] 4G in Orlando, Florida

Hey, guys
I'm switching to either Evo or Epic in October, and I'd like to know beforehand how 4G reception is working for you in any Orlando area (I do know for a fact there's already 4G in Orlando, if you aren't informed). I'm also writing a review for a website and need some feedback on said topic. Thanks!
Yes it is, It has been working since Aug 1st.. no problems.. and it works outside great.. but indoors sucks
I'm getting about 3Mbps down, 1Mbps up at my apartment (on Millenia), which is double the download rate of 3g that I get here. Haven't really checked it elsewhere though...I hardly use it, as when I'm home I just use Wifi
3 down 1 up is usually what I achieve over in Waterford Lakes/Avalon Park.

The two areas I got it were at the corner of Herndon Ave and East Colonial Dr (there was a Sprint store there, so I assume thats where the 4G signal was coming from) but I was averaging around 2-4mbps down, 1.07 up, the other area was in my city of Winter Park, which surprisingly the signal has been penetrating inside my house rather well and I've been getting around 7-9mbps down, 1.9 up.
It seems up and down most of Alafaya is all covered. I travel over in the UCF area, Waterford area, Oviedo, and Winter Springs and all seem pretty well covered. Map-Wise I drew a rough sketch of the area I have used. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=102798843898597385172.00048f7b3b6a161f47cff
I would say 3-4m is a general average. As said before buildings suck for the most part. I have gotten it inside a few buildings at UCF. If you are outside and in covered areas then you should be good.

I live Downtown Lake Davis area and I'm starting to see it around here now. Very faint inside my house, much better outdoors. Very exciting though!
Avalon seems to be the limit for the east side of Orlando as I live in Wedgefield and I watch it every day drop off as soon as I pass the Avalon light on 50 but in town the usual is around 4-5mbps down .5mbps up.

4G in South Bay

I live in Campbell and been getting at least 1 bar of 4G consistently. Not a good signal but at least I'm getting something. Getting full 4G coverage in Cupertino and Santa Clara. My friend's a store manager at Sprint and told me they're launching 4G officially in October. Hope this is a good news for some of you. Thought I should share.

There's no way they're launching in San Francisco by next month. There's no signal anywhere even for testing. Maybe the san jose market will launch next month but san francisco will definitely take a while to launch.
Because, I'm pretty sure, all 4G launches are preceded by at least some sort of test signals... Which we have nothing in SF.

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully they will. It would be silly for Sprint if they don't launch it in frisco considering the huge market.

Yeah, I work a lot in Palo Alto, and the whole downtown has the Clear Innovation network live, and there is some decent speeds. The other day while going on 101 South near Capitol Expwy exit in San Jose, I got over 7mbps in my car, while driving. That was epic.

wow that's awesome! i live a mile away from that area, i'm going to have to test it out. where i work near 101 and lawrence i can get 3.8-4.5 depending on if i have 1 or 2 bars.
I have managed to get 8Mbps in downtown San Jose. Covers the area past the Pavillion and up to the airport. Downtown has the best speeds though.
Just last weekend i got ~9Mbps near Walmart, Mountain View. Haven't got any 4G signal in palo alto area.

4G in Corona CA! WiMax on the Move!

I got an email from sprint telling me 4g is now in Corona, CA. So I decided to check the coverage map on clearwire. I'm colorblind so it's hard to tell the exact colors, but the colors appeared to be all over inland riverside and even down to Moreno Valley, indicating the area was covered. When I typed in my zip code at my home in corona and work in moreno valley and it said they were in the area. With all this talk of wimax going away, it appears to have expanded quickly. Last time I checked the map, Wimax was creeping in and surrounding my area, now it's covered, did clear get some extra wimax funding?
yeah i looked on the map and it looks like chino has wimax but for the most part corona does not.
Hmm, Well I won't know for awhile anyway out of town all week. Looks like the are moving quickly becuase it wasn't more then a couple months ago when I checked the map and there wasn't any in corona, I live in north corona right off the 15 and 91, so hopefully thats where the signal is!
That s good news

I live in Corona, Ca and I just picked up 4G at home. I live on the edge of Corona though closer to Yorba Linda. Corona Hills, off Green River.
Man I hope they hit plam springs

I live in Placentia, between Anaheim, Yorba Linda, and Fullerton, and I get 4G in all of the cities I just listed. I just found out there was 4G here literally 3 days ago. I got the Clearwire app to check for coverage on a whim seeing as how I'm on CM7 and I had full bars, and bam! 4G!
Been abusing it all week.
WiMax is now available at my house where 3G is barely available.... interesting.
