Hii, this is my first thread
A few days ago, I tried to root my HTC by doing "one click root" from theunlockr.com. I've done step by step from downgrading to 1.5 until update recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2H.img
my HTC condition is
before:
1. bootscreen view : HTC, with black background
2. system spec : sorry, forgotten
3. FW 1.6
4. fastboot and adb from cmd is good
after :
1. bootscreen view : MY TOUCH 3G
2. system spec :
SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32A SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0006 (sapp10000)
cpld-12
radio-2.22.19.26I
3. fw 1.5
4. can not booting but still can entering fastboot and recovery mode
5. I've tried SAPPIMG.nbh, but failed because it said "ID incorrect!"
6. I've tried recovery from recovery mode with original recovery, system, and radio from htc but never done, always aborted
7. USB detect the device, "fastboot devices" shows S/N, but when I try to flash always : "remote:not allowed"
8. "adb devices" shows : device list attached, never shows S/N
Please help me, is that bricked or not?

Hi Everyone
I must apologize if this is a annoying beginner question but I have a problem with my HTC Magic.
I attempted to load the Fatality Hero ROM onto my HTC Magic phone. I already had the daldroid ROM running on it but wanted to try out the Hero ROM. I followed the procedure as described by individuals on the web (and I have done it before to get the daldroid ROM working). The phone was working fine with adb. I followed the following steps:
- I Selected ‘Nandroid Backup 2.1′ from the menu.
- Then selected ‘Wipe Data/factory reset’.
- Then ‘Apply sdcard:update.zip’. (The update.zip file was the fatality Hero ROM)
- I then selected ‘reboot system now’.
The phone went to the flash screen and got stuck there very very long. I then went back to flashboot but now the phone does not show up on adb devices list. This was when I just used adb to load the new ROM.
What can I do to get back into my phone? I can see fastboot and hboot. I just cant use adb anymore
This is what is displayed in fastboot:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0009 (SAP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Please is there anyone that can help me? And sorry if this is a obvious problem but I cant find a solution anywhere.
Sorry for the double post. An update on my situation.
I tried getting everything working in UBUNTU and the system still picks up the phone with a strange device id (not the 0bb4: 0c02 or 0bb4: 0c03 everyone refer to but a device id 0bb4: 0fff) and it still does not show up in the adb device list.
I have tried getting it to work on 3 different windows machines and 1 linux machine and no love. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this?
HI,
my magic is 32B
i followed the theunlockr.com/2009/08/14/how-to-root-your-mytouch-3g method together with the GOLDCARD method
my GOLDCARD is ok ... now i trying to fastboot boot recovery-RAv1.2.0H.img to my magic but got a message saying cannot load recovery-RAv1.2.0H.img
i have tried "fastboot devices" i m sure it is connected
right now on my magic's fastboot screen with these info:
32B
S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0009 (SAPP10000)
radio 3.22.20.17
please help thanks
man...you need the recovery that ends in "g" not "h". obviously you didnt read the manual
download rav.blahblah.G<- NOT H and just flash the recovery and you will be fine
thanks ... i keep going on the "H" file becos in that unlockr video, i clearly see that it was a 32B
ok i'll go find a G file now
thanks.
ummmm ... i actually fixed the problem ...
if some new users come across this in the future, hope this helps
1) of all, my SDK folder is not in C:, for some reason even i had a path pointing to the folder when i load the recovery it not running the file
2) after i run the GOLDCARD, my magic became "H" as i pointed out in my OP, so running the recovery-RAv1.2.0H.img file is correct
I got a real Problem
On a normal Boot the Magic stucks an the red Vodafone splashscreen
Powering up with Home+Power results in the Vodafone screen
Back+Power i got to the fastboot menu.
Now i can transfer an recovery mod (recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img)
if i use "fastboot boot recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img" the phone shows up a progressbar, reboots and stuck at the red Vodafone screen.
if i use "fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img" the img transfered an wrote to the phone. Turning it off and on again (with Home+Power) it ends in the splash screen. ==> I'm not able to enter the recovery menu
If i try to flash my backuped system.img with "fastboot flash system system.img" the progressbar stucks at about 90%.
The Fastboot menu shows (if this could help):

There are new posts like this daily.
Reading carefully is the key! I had this problem on my 32A, you're flashing a recovery which is for google branded phones ie. Sapphire PVT 32B ENG S-OFF G, download recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H.img
On a 32b i need an h-recovery image?
Did i understand right?

Yes, you need an H recovery if that's what you seen on the phone when you're in fastboot.
What did you do to end up in such a situation?
Moving to General because this has nothing to do with ROM development.

It's my dad's phone, and he says "Nothing".
About one mont ago i flashed a 2.1 Rom to the phone, and everything works great. Three days ago he called me because the phone didn't boot anymore.
I realy don't know whats wrong with this f****** phone. It's just a kind of Magic
10 minutes ago i tried the "recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H.img" ==> same result.
I hope Vodafone will change ist. I realy out off ideas. :-S
Hello, I just bought a used HTC Magic (Rogers 32A 2.1 Official Stock). I followed this tutorial to root my phone (How to root HTC magic in one click - website the unlocker) and basically I had to downgrade to Cupcake. Then during the flashing process, an error message said "Wrong model". Now, I'm stuck at the android logo. What can I do? I want get back to my official ROM so I can find another way to root it.
- I tried to do "adb devices" and it cannot find my devices
- My phone had Android 2.1 Rogers official stock.
- I don't have a backup official ROM or whatsoever
- I tried to do a factory reset but it doesn't change anything.
Is my phone done? thank you.
Help please. No matter how many methods I tried to detect my HTC as a ADB device on Windows XP SP3, it doesn't work!

I cannot go into Recovery Mode too (HOME+Power) but I can go to...
- POWER+VOLUME menu
- BACK+HOME menu
Find a sapping.zip from your device
I deleted it from my SD Card because it had the "Wrong model" error when I tried to downgrade to 1.5 Cupcake.

Thank you so much! I found a official ROM and flashed it. Now I have to be careful.
Hi.
I have an 32A HTC Magic.
I don't know what got wrong but I have NO working ROM on my device.
I have Amon Ra 1.6.2, SPL-OFF, Can get into recovery, can get into Fastboot mode.
Tried flashing some ROMs (they installed 100% completely) but when I reboot the logo just shows "htc MAGIC" and nothing happens.
Please what should I try to do?
Your help will be very much appreciated.
Best regards and sorry for not so great english.
Okay, the thing is:
I can get into the Fastboot screen, but cant get into Fastboot USB mode. So no way of sending ADB commands from my laptop.
Also, no way to get into HBOOT. Even from the Fastboot screen, pressing VOL DOWN doesn't do anything.
What the heck do I do? (
It can be caused by stucked buttons.
Tear down the phone
Clean parts
Assemble all back
p.s. Please post spl-info (first 5 rows in fastboot screen) to avoid software incompatability

Your help is very much appreciated. Im still stuck with the Magic.. Have tried everything all night
Best regards
Okay, got into HBOOT finally. I then tried flashed the sappimg.zip - but half way through it said invalid model id.
Now I don't have Amon Ra recover, and Fastboot looks like this now:
SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32A SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0006 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-2.22.19.261

I tried another sappimg.zip and then in HBOOT but HBOOT doesn't find the sappimg.zip anymore.
Any good advice?
OMG, why? Why you did it? You are successfully half-bricked your magic...
update:
1. Make goldcard
2. try to flash 2.53.707.2 SEA WWE test-signed
http://www.4shared.com/file/160198404/66d482a/RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2537.html
Cause Im a bit stupid I guess ...
One thing though, I can't even get my computer to recognize my Magic.
Nothing happens when I plug it to the USB port. Not showing up in Device Manager.
I have tried two mini USB cables, same thing.
Guess Im totally screwed?
It is driver-related issue.
You need explore Windows Device Manager (My computer (right click) / Manage / Device Manager)
There must be Android USB Devices in tree.
You can also install USBDEVIEW
32bit OS: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview.zip
64bit OS: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview-x64.zip
p.s.
1. adb must return serial number when phone in normal state after command "adb devies"
2. fastboot must return serial number only in fastboot-mode after command "fastboot devices"
If you see serial number - no problem with adb/fastboot

Hi, slkdk,
Have you ever tried the "RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Chunghwa"
(in Traditional Chinese/English)
You just need to connect your phone with PC, turn on the phone with back+power, and then execute the "RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Chunghwa" on PC.
I remember that Sapphire_HTC_Chunghwa will help you with all the radio/SPL/ROM directly back to the Android 1.5 stock.
Good luck!

Just note, but not all phones are Taiwanese Chungwa. Installing ROM for another region (mismatching by CID) will raise "cid error" and half-brick.
