Gaiz, I have a solution to the battery problem! - EVO 4G General

Buy docks for your car, office, and every place that you go. I've also custom modified a back-pack with a 12 volt automobile battery off a Ford Fiesta from which I can draw power.
Try it. IT WORKS.

i <3 you!!!!!

You had to get a backpack with a 12 volt battery? Really? Why not buy a portable USB charger if you want to go that route, I still have the one I bought for my iphone. But I only bought it because iphone's battery is not removable. In this case, just buy a new additional battery for your evo. Not a damn car battery lol. Unless you were being sarcastic. I hope for your chiropractor's sake you were.

thanks for all your response. the reason i asked this question is: usually when we use a laptop we can always use an ac adapter without pulling out the battery, which is harmless to the the battery life! but coming to pocket PC, i just wondering when you use the ac adapter, the battery will always be charged and the machine will always use battery's electricity, not from ac adapter directly. won't that be bad for the battery life??
sorry for my silly speculation.

actually the battery they use don't have that much of the battery memory effect, so you should be ok with these. The only problem you will face is battery capacity decrease over the time, so in my case, i usually change the battery after a year use (which doesn't cost that much compare to the laptop one ).
Hope this helps

This is pretty cool. An external batterypack with built in charger

http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-050/The+Ultimate+Charger.html
Good for those long flights or long days at the office.
Yes, very cool... but a bit pricey for what it is if you ask me... maybe $10 ?
Well, let's see:
1340 Ah battery alone close to $30.
http://www.staples.com/Lenmar-Repla...ing-_-Technology>Batteries-_-822796-PDAHTC171
For an extra $10 you get it in a case with charging circuitry that charges it and your phone together. It also works with your MP3 player or whatever USB thing you have. Doesn't seem too bad a price.
I think it's pretty cool. Especially for me, where I have a hard case on my phone, its hard to take off to replace a battery. To have an external USB battery is a great idea. Although I would like to see a larger mAh in external. Like 4000-5000 for a completey extra reserve. You could fully charge your stock battery, and then run soley off of the external.
But i'm not quite sure how that would work for charging. USB charging is a very slow rate. Sure, you could mod the cable so that the phone thinks its an AC adapter, but then it will draw more power from your external source.
But I am kinda intrigued. This would be nice to have.
Look what I found at Wallyworld! Only 1150Ah though.

I agree. If you have access to Ebay in your country, you can get battery replacements really cheap like this one:

BTW, a single rechargeable AA battery is about 2500mAH

Aftermarket Battery + Charger

Hello all,
I just moved and lost my extra Sammy battery external charger....UGH. I've LOVED never having to charge my phone itself.
Just curious if anyone has tried any of the aftermarket options on ebay or elsewhere and can vouch for them. I know they may not perform quite as well as the OEM pair, but if they are comparable, it would be pretty good bang for the buck.
Thanks for any input!
From what I've seen the Yoobao 2800mAh is a good battery. It looks like the 3500mAh's aren't really 3500 and just have a different sticker. From everything I've read it looks like the Yoobao is what to go with. I'm actually going to order one today.
As far as a charger, I have the oem charger, and I have the Sprint charger (traveler charger plus) that charges it's battery pack from the wall, and then you can unplug it from the wall and carry it with you. I can generally get about half of a full charge (while using it) without it being plugged into the wall.
[edit] I think this should be in Q and A?
I'd go with Amazon.
I've tried the very cheap knockoffs (batteries and chargers). They do not perform as well as as the Samsung-branded OEM combo, which is available on Amazon in Samsung retail packaging for about $25 plus shipping.
I got a review in the Accessory section on one. Been working awesome for me for months now.

If you are looking for a battery, by far the best deal is the one in my sig for capacity/price. The best battery by far in capacity/size is the OEM battery.

Just a couple of questions about the 3500 mAh battery and the charge dock:
1. Can the 3500 mAh battery charge in that external charger (ie outside of the phone in the charger bay).
2. If you use the dock with the phone upright, does it block speaker sound coming out of it from the back, since plan on using it next to my bed and my phone is also my alarm clock.
Thanks!
The blackberry chargers are awesome.

That external charger works with all batteries including the extended batteries. The dock blocks a little of the sound, but its not completely muffled.
Meetface I was wondering where you've been! Looking for your lost charger I now see.

Thanks all for the replies, I'll have to decide what I want to do.
I like the Yoo Bao 2800mah. I can charge it to full, leave 3g on all day and still have half battery about 16-18 hours later.
want bang for your buck, here you go: http://www.spider-foot.com/2x-batte...ate-vibrant-i9000-galaxy-s-gsi902b-p-738.html
been using it for many months rotating between 3 batteries and it still working very well, almost as good as the OEM

opinion on the newtrent 7000 mAh external battery pack?

soo currently the Newtrent battery packs are on sale and i would like some opinions about the packs. :highfive:
Not needed for 95% of people who can find a power outlet of some kind once every 24 hours.
If you're going camping for a week I guess it could work. Or if you game on your phone 12 hours a day.
Not needed for me.

I have two battery packs. One slimline Anker battery that is great for emergencies. That one has a cord built in to charge. That one is like 3200mAh
I also have a new trent 10000mah one as well. That one travels with me. Has two usb ports to charge up my N4 and N7. Pretty fast too. However doesn't hold it's charge as well as the Anker IMO, but works.

If I'm going to rely on a battery pack, I'd rather get the biggest capacity of ~13000 mah.
I've had a New Trent 11,000mAh external battery pack for well over a year now and it's been pretty solid overall. My biggest complaint is that charging the battery pack itself is a little bit of a pain in the ass because it's really picky about the connection to the wall wart, you have to turn the piece that plugs into the battery pack until it connects just right to get a good charge. I assume this could just be a minor defect in my unit. I would say check out some of the other options out there as well, I picked up a 5,000mAh external battery for $20 on Amazon as a stocking stuffer for my wife this last year.

lg v20 battery cradle ?

Do you all get the battery cradle woth v20 ? Here in india they are not giving or selling .. Its hard to find it.. Instead of v20 they gave me lg g5 battery cradle as a complimentary(not from lg store) .. But it is not that useful as it could be woth v20 battery kit. Just using it as a usb torch light and power bank device.
That's quite odd. Honestly the battery life is great hence i do not see the need of buying an extra case with battery nevertheless buy it from Amazon.com or alibaba

Pretty good so far, accommodates a device with a case and a spare battery. Not a bad cradle for the price.
I have this one, and it works great - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CS0UVR6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ragFybB0Z6STF
That thing and a spare battery, and I always have over 100% battery available. Whole reason I wanted this phone over a Samsung ?
Edit: Holy crap, forget mine, I want the one in the preceding post - cheaper AND it'll charge the spare battery at the same time!? I am missing out!

Does this charge a spare battery? Why is it so much more expensive than the one I bought for less features? It IS slicker looking but you can't charge a spare battery.
Nope, it'll take my phone with its case on, but it does not charge a spare battery. It was a gift, so I'm not complaining, but yours looks much better to me.
