Anyone else frequently disconnecting and reconnecting? This is annoying because I'm not getting messages to my phone. They are going to my PC when the phone logs out.
I know it kills the connection when I text or talk on the phone but with the phone sitting there it seems to do it for no apparent reason. I'll be reading a conversation and it will say it disconnected.
Wow, this would be a big issue for me since I gtalk alot more than texting..
Anybody else experiencing this??

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have tried darn near every IM client out there, and they seem to be the cause of this problem.
I like to keep my IM open. I started with Palringo, tried Agile, Fring, etc.
When I have them open, my phone goes into standby and I receive a call - I will generally MISS the call, because there can be a 6 - 10 second delay from hitting "Answer" to responding.
I thought it might have been something else causing the issue, but I've removed everything, started from scratch, and the SECOND I open an IM client, let my phone go into "standby" mode, the calls I receive are pretty much toast.
Mundu IM worked, but it completely lost its marbles when the connection dropped. It was almost as much of an issue as having the phone call not answer (it froze up other parts of the system)
I don't get it - I know other people are doing this successfully, but why not me?
If anyone'll know the answers, I know it'll be you guys. I'm using DCD 3.1.2 with a 3.35 radio.
Thanks in advance!
Nick
So - am I alone in this problem? I can't be - there MUST be someone in the same boat. Helps, please?
Everytime i use windows live messenger if its inactive for like 20 seconds it just drops out and it keeps showing that i sign in and sign out the entire time on other computers and its getting really annoying.
Is there anyway to fix this issue or has anyone had the same problem?
Same problem here... and no, haven't found a fix for this.
Also, sometimes when it drops the connection also drops the phone so people that call you will get voicemail even when you see everything OK on screen.
Then, when you try to make a call it freezes.
Anoying.
Anyone have problems connnecting to gtalk? It takes countless retries and forever to connect to gtalk after a phone call, switch to and from 4G, and switch to and from wifi. I know it takes some time to connect to the server through a different connection etc. but everything else works (market, gmail, maps, anything that requires internet). It sometimes take up to 2 minutes to connect to gtalk. I've tried stopping and restarting the service and nothing. This is a real problem for me because 95% of my texting is through gtalk and it's annoying to have to wait so long after I switch to wifi, 4G, or receive a call. People on Verizon don't seem to suffer from this even though they use CDMA too. Gtalk connects almost instantly.

I have the same issue, no idea what the problem is and no luck with responses it seems
I think this is something on googles side.
My gtalk will sometimes refuse to connect no matter how many times I restart it.
If you close the application and restart it, it might help, but otherwise just give it some time and try to sign in.

YES!! mine has the same problem..... hate it... it's so inconvenient for me..
it better be fixed soon.
I switched from the EVO a week or so ago. I never had ANY issues with gtalk on either CM6 or stock sense. On the Epic I'm noticing some weirdness. I haven't had any issues as far as connecting taking a long time, but I do notice that I'm getting random disconnects. I think it may have something to do with us still being on 2.1. That's just a guess though.
The gtalk service seems to be rather flakey. I'm not sure what's the cause, but I just sign out and sign back in until it works.
My phone sometime thinks I'm roaming although I'm not. This always happens at work but now I've noticed it happening at home too. I also can't call because it says I'm not registered to the network.
This is still happening pretty often.
What is the cause of this? It seems to happens more often when connectivity isn't at best.
Bump. No one else having this issue?
OK guys. I've noticed that most people seem to have an issue of the phone lagging a bit when they try to open a conversation thread in the stock messaging app. My issue is a bit different. I have not had trouble opening the thread, but once I send a message, then try to back out of the app, the phone will lag significantly. Like we're talking a good 10-20 seconds sometimes. If I go straight home without backing out, this doesn't happen, but then I don't get new notifications. I have to completely back out of the app to be able to get new message notifications, but when I do that, I get this really bad lag. This should not be happening on a phone with this much processing power. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Has anyone else had this issue? I even tried cleaning out a bunch of old messages, but the problem seems to be getting worse. Thanks guys.
