I have a HTC Mogul and I need windows internet update. Help Please!

if you are talking about the update icon in some roms
then non of them ever worked ms seem to have drop'd the whole idear
and no updates were ever put out that way
Has anybody upgraded to the windows mobile 6.1 and been able to get WMwifirouter to work? If you had problems getting wmwifirouter to work with the new verizon windows mobile 6.1, were you able to get it to work? Please explain how you were able to get it working if its possible. I am thinking of upgraded the windows mobile but am thinking that verizon might have done something to the software that wont allow internet sharing.
No problems here, when the power went out and so did cable due to the hurricane I was using it successfully on DCD 3.2.6 which is wm 6.1, radio 3.37.75, on an xv6800. Wifi Router version 0.91. All I did was install the cab file and made sure my wifi switch on the left hand side was turned on and ran the app.:
I have a VZW XV6800 w/ the MR1 update. I think if you want to get WMWifiRouter to work you also need to install the ICS tool since Verizon doesn't include that on their phones.

Did you initially have to manually setup your adhoc connection?
I currently have the original windows mobile 6.0 and have wmwifirouter .91 installed. WMwifirouter works fine with this setup. What my questions is , if I upgrade to windows mobile 6.1, will I lose the ability to use wmwifirouter?

Do you have WMwifirouter installed and working?
6.1 and wifirouter working good. Did install ics tool first.
Where did you download the ICS tool from for the Verizon XV6800?
I have seen quite a few posts about needing ICS without Cooked ROM's but haven't seen where to download.

noob needs help
hello all. well, i upgraded my xv6800 to wm6.1 and lost my the ICS software i had installed last year (don't remember what steps i had done). I want to reinstall it and tried using the zip file posted above but could not get it to work. anyone willing to give me a step by step on how to install. sorry for the stupid questions.
I just installed the ICS with the attached CAB file. Just load it onto your phone somewhere and run it. It will restore ICS back to your phone.
Current ICS Install File
The post date for the last ICSInstall.CAB file is April 2007. Since it is now almost two years later, does anyone know if the ICSInstall.cab file posted in April 2007 is the current version to use in March 2009 on a Verizon (Samsung) i910 running Windows Mobile 6.1? Could anyone direct me to the current version? Thanks all.
Okay so my moms phone broke and she's using an HTC Wizard. I don't know anything about this phone. I have a Rooted G1 and I love learning new things about phones. Can anybody tell me if I can Root this phone, how to get a ROM like Windows 6? Even links would work. Windows mobile is always able to run unsigned programs and also it has no users making rooting windows mobile impossible as well as you already have full fs access.
You still will need to unlock your wizard to use custom roms due to your wizard probably being CID locked meaning iut will only work with roms from it's provider e.g. if it is a T-mobile phoner it will onle work with T-mobile roms until you unlock it with hard SPL.

Ok. Do you have the link for a Windows Mobile 6 ROM?
I bought this htc trophy from someone I didnt know at the time that its rooted. i would really like to unroot it since the marketplace wont work. please can some one tell me how. i know how to root and unroot an android but nothing about windows phones!

you cant root WP8 phones...
only is possible to access to system folder on sdcard and read installed apps from there but rooting and other things forget... WP OS is build for security, not hacking...
You got a wrong idea about wp its not android so let go of these thoughts
You can develop unlock your device to sideload some apps.
Or step in to the developerspreview program to get the latest updates.
There is nothing more to gain on this platform.
Now for unlocking your device there are some possibilities.
You can ask your provider to unlock it or go to a dark sinister shop or market to get some work done.
When you just jump ship you can find a lot of info at wpcentral (it less technical then xda ) to learn some things about windowsphone.
