Configuring SMS Layout - Touch2 General

Is there any registry key that removes the size of the SMS (e.g. 1K) shown and moves the date/time on the far right.
Just curious, I don't want to go over a lot of trouble just to change this. But if there is a simple registry change, I would like to know.

Changing font size...

I made this as per the instructions, to change the font size of the bar and popup.
But nothing changed
I used total commander to edit the registry. I used the values from the basics.zip package:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\PopFnt]
"Ht"=dword:000002bc
"Wt"=dword:000002bc
"HtInPts"=dword:00000001
"CS"=dword:00000000
"It"=dword:00000000
"Nm"="Tahoma"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\BarFnt]
"Ht"=dword:000002bc
"HtInPts"=dword:00000001
"CS"=dword:00000000
"Wt"=dword:000002bc
"It"=dword:00000000
"Nm"="Tahoma"
no matter what I make, it has absolutely no effect.
I have one T-Mobile MDA Pro German
any hints?
Can't really help I am afraid, but you did try a soft reset didn't you?
@BlackIce
after having made the changes switch off the device to flush the data into the registry and then do a soft reset.
If you don't switch off the device the data (possibly) isn't written into the registry file.
Wolfgang
after making changes I press on the small reset button near the USB connector.
But it does not make any difference. I also installed other font and this font is not used.
Maybe there is some other settings I am missing???
you must make the registry changes, then switch the device off via the power button first.
leave it off for about 20 seconds, then reset the device.
dont reset before switching the device off.
Ah, I think, I understood wrong.
I was thinking, with this setting I can change the text size of the start menu itself. But now I see it only changes the menus in the applications.
is there any hack to make the start menu more small?
Start menu text size
I too thought that this change would change the size of the text in the start menu, but after setting the text size to 500 realised that only the application menus were changed.
Has anyone got a change to make the start menu text smaller?

Control Panel CPLs (Specifically Soft Key customisation)

Does anybody know how to set under which tab in settings a CPL will appear?
I ask, as I've managed to export the CPL T-Mobile put on the MDA COmpact II to customise the soft keys, and I want it to appear on the same screen as Buttons, but instead it is under System.
BTW, the CPL does work - it gives an interface similar to Buttons for changing what the soft keys do, as opposed to editing the registry. If you want, I can post it here.
Thanks in advance, guys.
Just a question: when you change one of the Soft Keys apps to be run, do you have the <Ok/Close> , <ContextMenu> (all <BlaBla>) options? I mean the options that are not applications?
The reason I'm asking is that I recently hard reseted my Wizard and I stopped the final T-Mobile customization process. But it seems that the Softkeys are no longer present in my control panel, and after adding a SoftKeys.cpl file from a forum, I can only set applications not the aforementioned behaviours (like <OK/Close>).
PS: post the file plz, I'll just give it a try
I think you want to edit (or create) the 'group' dword value under HKLM\ControlPanel\[yourcplkeyhere]\
values seem to be 0 fo rthe personal tab, 1 for system and 2 for conenctions
eg set HKLM\ControlPanel\Backlight\Group to 2 to make it appear on the connections tab.
the cpl sounds handy - can you post it?
Here's the CPL.
Haven't looked at all the options, but you can select New SMS and New MMS, although these rely on 2 files called TNSMS.exe and TNMMS.exe, which I don't see to have to hand. If anyone can post them, that'd be great.
I don't know if it'll work on all devices, but try it anyway.
P.S. How do I find the CPL Key to use in the reg hack above?
I have one which I use for the New SMS function
How to install *.CPL files?
I copied it to Windows directory but it is not there?
Do a Soft reset after copying to the \windows....
then it should be in the Start->Settings-> one of the tabs...

Start menu Text Size

How do I change the Today/Taskbar menu to bold(Default)?
I've installed some software that I need but it changes the Start Menu/Softkey font to non bold.
Does anyone know which registry setting I have to change?
Thanks

"program" for changing touch registry?

I was wondering (even after much searching) if there is a "program" to edit the registry settings for the TouchFLO app on the wizard? For instance, say i wanted to change what text is displayed or what program the touch "buttons" point to. eh? eh? the registry hacks are just so time consuming. it would be cool if someone wrote a little text program to change them. maybe to make it easier? who else is with me?

Email Font Size

Is there any way to make the font size smaller in email?
When I type a message, I'm lucky if I can get 3 or 4 words to a line as the font is huge!
you can change the minimum text size in the settings tab on your device try that.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Its only for received emails...
Go to the settings tab, select Menu, All Settings, System, Screen and the Text Size tab. Changing the text size with the slider there affects input and output for emails.
Edit: Actually, I've just checked and they're the same thing. If that doesn't work, you may have a problem that can't be fixed with regular UI settings.
Surely there must be a registry hack or something for this?
I can't understand why they need the font to be so big.
i heard pinch to zoom works with text. try zooming out

You heard wrong! Afraid it doesn't work
Its really odd - if I reply to a message, the old message below what I'm typing is a normal sized font - but anything I type is JUMBO!
Similar situation in SMS too - the old messages are a decent size, but what I type is huge!
I also think that font in some apps is way too big. For instance in Pocket Outlook, Calendar etc., even in Opera Mobile. I have all settings set to smallest font but it is still too big. Is there a way how to make it smaller - may be some settings in registry? It is useless to have such a big screen but to see the same number of letters as on much smaller screen.
First off, y'all need to CHILL!!
Describe your problem in more detail:
1. Has the font always been *JUMBO* sized (i.e. since you ever first got it) ?
2. Did you use any tool to change your device's font size?
* Note: there are various utilities out there that can be used to change the system font properties to ANYthing you want. Some programs you might've installed change system font properties as part of their operation.... so, backtrack, and if necessary use Total Commander to find "\windows\*.ttf" then delete all files found, then restart your phone; this will restore fonts to their original states.
Cheers
In my case, this simple setting works. Open an email message, go to menu in lower left, view, text size. I use the smallest font size, which is readable and I get 24 lines of text on screen.
Yes, settings as well as multi touch zoom are working for me too but I still would like to have much smaller font. The question is if there is a way how to enable smaller fonts with registry settings or tweak app?
Easy:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox]
"RichEditHostFontSize"="10"
You can shrink the font for replying down to 2 nano meter.
I would like to shrink the font for reading, but the registry doesn't seem to remember the setting after a softreset.
I am trying here: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox] & [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
Maybe anyone has an idea here...
