that's the one.
though it's not from the same factory as your original.
digitizer is not as strong against scratches, polarization is 90degs shifted and backlight blending matrix has bigger pattern. but those things you hardly notice and for $20 I wouldn't wary

Hi All
My plastic cover on my beloved HD has become shattered, I have peeled it off and can see that it looks like it could possibly be replaced, but it is hanging on with a ribbon cable.
The LCD part of the screen is absolutely fine, THANK GOD
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP
Has anyone replaced this ? do you know where to get a new one ?
Thanks all
Steve
is this what you are looking for?
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Original-Full-Ho...14&_trkparms=72:1215|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
I found it on ebay. its a full housing cover for the hd
I don't think that's what he means. But you can't see a front picture of it if it includes the plastic layer, damn photos!
No
But that would do it though , its just the plastic screen on the front of the phone, not the actual LED, but yes, that would do it.
Thanks
Any other ideas ?
Thanks
Steve

The front of the phone/plastic part is the digitizer or touch area. You can buy it but haven't seen it.
http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-lcddigitizer-unit-p-4295.html
They sell the lcd screen and de digitizer. the lcd screen is NOT the touch sensitive part, the front(plastic) part is. So this could become very pricy.
YES, that is what I need, thank you .....
Steve
Brilliant , I have found a place to send it to in Harrow , they are going to repair it for £50 inc P+P
Not bad eh !

Hi
I have broken screen in my LG G2.
I have seen cheap options to buy only digitizer - 30 pounds or digitizer with lcd for over 100 pounds.
l have heard that lcd and digit. are sticked together and is impossible to replace it.
here is video how to do it youtube.com/watch?v=7IiqWDlefaI&noredirect=1[/url]
but guy replaced lcd.
please let me know if you have an idea if its possible to apply only lens/glass without destroying lcd.
Thanks

It is for sure possible to replace just the digitizer. But it is not easy...
I am going to build my own digitizer/lcd separating tool, like this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kZ2-2nm4xc
But you can use a hotair gun, but you will have to do it with extreme caution
Best regards

Hopefully is gonna work

80 Degrees should be a far better temperature for these kinds of digitizer units.
But you will have to figure out how to lock the unit, so you can use a Molybdenum wire (0.14 mm) to cut the adhessive.
You could try to cut the adhessive first, if it goes well, then it will be enough for you to buy the digitizer glass, if you damage the AMOLED then you will have to buy the whole unit.
Best regards

I think I will do it as on this video- youtube.com/watch?v=qowrEiDsdTo
manually,without using machine.
Its hardcore, but I like challenges
Luckily my screen is almost in one piece, it should be easier, than when is completely shuttered.
Hi, so unfortunately I dropped my N4 on concrete yesterday and the screen took a hit..worst of all, there is zero touch response.
So I was looking at eBay and I can order the new screen/display part for $55 and follow the DIY tutorial on YouTube...or there is also just the glass/digitizer on eBay for $20. Will the latter option work?
Otherwise I'll just order the entire unit.
Thanks!
You can but it will be hard to separate the two and then glue it together, I would just buy the display.

Yeah I found out and don't want to do it at all. Also, even if I order the LCD I still have to take off the glass and old display...I'll order it though.
Thanks for your help.

I agree with you. I had the same thing happened to me, and tried just removing the glass, and cracked the LCD.
how difficult is it to replace it?
I'm thinking about doing that but read many comments about cracking the digitizer...
so , should I try it or should I just give up and live with that little crack?

It's not just the hazard of breaking the digitizer...the result would not be that same as before. Initially the gorilla glass is glued together with the digitizer and the replacement is most probably a cheap plastic, that cannot have the same feeling nor the same response

I believe I bought an original replacement from UK ...
question is how complicated is this procedure and if by hitting the device screen so much I can harm the digitizer or some other internal parts...
It's difficult to do it without proper tools. Putting the new screen on the digitizer is also difficult.
But if you have experience in these kind of thing, then you can do it.

what tools are those?
got a heat gun and plastic spudgers ... it came as a kit with the glass I bought
A UV light to set the glue is best. Makes it more responsive.

There isn't any genuine glass replacement as I was informed by Samsung Greece. Officially they only replace the glass WITH the digitizer.

There are some people that they use this glue (without it, the responsivness after some time is decreased a lot ) but the problem is that they use too much and at the points that the UV light hasn't reached it is still liquid and can go everywhere
OK I'm an idiot I destroyed my digitiser when trying to do a screen replacement on my S4. Can someone please have a look at this pic and tell me if (apart from the broken digitiser) I have damaged anything else that would make digitiser replacement no longer viable?
Thx very much for replies
It's not just the digitizer that's toast, but the AMOLED screen as well. Those cracks near the upper right are where the screen itself is broken. With damage to the screen you're going to need to purchase a new midframe with screen and digitizer already attached to it. I don't know how much you spent on your glass, but the midframe and screen are going to cost about US$150.
Thx for reply . Could you just tell me if this is what you meant about what I need to replace the damaged parts?

That is precisely what I meant. It's the entire screen plus the midframe. You'll need to pull all the sensors and other small bits off the bad screen/midframe and put them on the good one, as the replacement part doesn't include the sensors. iFixit should have a breakdown guide you can use that should be of help.
