USB connected and 3g turns off - HD2 General

Okay, today I connected my hd2 to my computer like normal via USB. When I connect it, my service via 3g or edge completely turn off! I have to disconnect the USB and reboot to get service back. I tried going to airplane mode, etc but only a soft restart works to get my signal back.
Any ideas?

I've noticed that too. It's like you lose your internet as soon as you connect to your PC. At first I thought, WTF?? But I think it's common. I've learned to accept it. : /

loss of phone too
The thing is I loose ALL connections. That means I lose my phone too. Which is not how it has been for the last month. All of a sudden I don't have connection anymore while tethered via USB to my PC to sync my files. That is weird.

Weird Hardware Connection Issue

1st, let me say that I use WMWifiRouter religiously for the last 6 Months as my ONLY source of internet at home, as I cannot get DSL or Cable where I live.
Having said that, I woke up the other day and could not connect at all. At first I thought this was a wmwifirouter issue, but no matter how many hard-resets I do I cannot connect to the (or any) Add-hoc network connection on my phone. I installed Alltel's WM6.0 Update about 4 days before this happened, and I did have wmwifirouter running after the upgrade.
- I can ICS via USB
- I can Sync via Usb AND Bluetooth
- I can connect to my Home Wifi Network
- I have done a Hard Reset and ONLY installed the wmwifouter
- I have done a hard Reset and ONLY setup an Add-hoc Network
- When I turn the wifi hard switch ON it comes on, and I CAN connect OUT via wifi to my home network.
- I Cannot connect TO my phone on a wifi connection.
I assume this is a hardware issue, but I need some input on what to test so I can either Fix it, or explain the issue to an Alltel Tech so I can get the phone replaced.
Any help is extremely appreciated.

Prevent phone from disconnecting Internet Sharing on unplug

Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if there is a way to prevent the phone from getting disconnected when the USB Cable is unplugged. What I mean is that as soon as I unplug my phone, the Internet Sharing thing on the phone gets 'disconnected' in a way that if I have to reconnect, I'll have to hit the 'connect' button on it. I want it to remain connected, so that as soon as I replug the USB, it automatically connects the internet.
Is there a way to do this? Kindly help me. At times my PC gets restarted, I want the phone to remain in the Internet Sharing mode so that as soon as its restarted, it keeps itself connected to the internet.

[Q] Desire Z looses Data link following USB Internet Pass-through.

Hi,
Not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue so here goes.
I regularly connect my Desire Z to my PC in Internet Pass-through to get data for updating apps and Navdroid map updates.
No problem connecting and the data throughput is great.
However, once I have disconnected the phone from the PC I have lost 3G/HSPD connectivity. The only way to get these back is to restart the phone.
I have tried turning on Airplane mode, and then turning it off - no success.
I also tried turning off data and then turning it back on - no success there either.
Is this a known issue or has anyone else come across it. Anyone found a solution if they have, bar restarting the phone that is.. ?
Thanks,
Des. . . ; )
Yeh this also happens to me, though only sometimes. Unfortunately, all I've been able to figure out in terms of fixing it is just restarting.
Data connection is not the only thing that glitches for me with internet pass through, sometimes the other types of USB connection stop working as well (e.g. the phone will not be seen by my windows machine when put into removable drive mode after being in internet pass through) until I restart. Essentially, even though internet pass through does not always cause problems I always restart after using it since it seems to be good at glitching other things out and probably messes up things I don't even notice at first.
This has happened to me several times...
What I noticed is that whenever I disconnect the phone while it is in Internet Pass-Through mode, I couldn't get my mobile data connection to work afterwards..
So before disconnecting, maybe you can try changing your USB connection mode, say, to Charge Only. When disconnecting from that mode, mobile data works.. at least in my experience..
Hi,
Might be worth a try, that. Czechton can you try and see what sort of results you get?
Thanks,
Des. . .
I will second that - this problem occured for me everytime I connected the phone in the "internet pass through mode" - I also noticed (although I did not keep track to check if this solves the problem EVERY time) that if I change to the "charge only"
mode and then disconnect - I get back my mobile data connectivity back

usb tethering doesnt work after unplugging.

i managed to setup usb tethering on my desktop.
but one problem remains.
when first set up it works good.
but then after some inactivity time the connection gets lost.
like typing a long(5-10) minute responce on the forums usuallydoesnt go through... kinda frustrating.
and then after i unplug the phone the internet connection doesnt work anymore.
it shows tethering plugged in on the phone.
the network connection shows up but it says disabled. and when i try to enable it manually it doesnt do anything but slow down my PC.
i unplug and plug it back in many times with no result
the only way to work around it is to restart my PC which is kinda pain in the ass.
bump anyone can help?
would still like some help.
whats the proper way to disconnect the phone from PC while tethering?
