Maybe they should start a thread here on xda?
Hey there !
I started a request to Samsung to push some Source Code newer then the current JPM Fileset - And got an answer today:
According to Samsung nothing has changed in the OpenSource Parts from JPM to JPO ! Which means everything we can get from the JPM Package on opensource.samsung.com is identical to the JPO release...
Also i nice Quote:
"As i know, new firmware is planning to release in Dec"
I guess JPU or something even newer will be released within the next weeks, look promising for me !
You arrive late...

I guess we can close this then Anyway have a nice day !
Hello guys, I am new on android. I have downloaded honeycomb 3.1 update for motorola xoom from the internet.
Can i install it to my acer iconia a500?
if yes then how?
i have rooted my iconia a500. now i am not getting updates from acer like .40 and .41 that United states a500 holders received.
i am from Qatar.
is any one from middle east have received these updates?
waiting for reply.
Thanks.
No, you absolutely can NOT install the 3.1 for a different device on your Iconia. Not if you want a working tablet afterwards.
The last day or so have seen a breakthrough in the recovery software for our device, and there's a partially working beta of a 3.1 update specially for the Tab on these forums, but your best bet for now is waiting for the official update due within the next 2 weeks.
no you will KILL your tablet...
either wait for an update to hit your region or have someone a little more android savvy install the PRIMEE 1.4 custom rom for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121790&page=11
check that
Also for future reference keep questions in the general thread as opposed to the development thread
thanks to all for reply
I am thankful to all who reply and save me from doing harm to my tablet.
i will keep care next time and will not post questions in this development section.
pardon me for that.
So, hey maybe now we can have a subforum or something, right?
Maybe some thoughtful devs will come along and build us a kernel or a shiny new rom, lol.
Hi there,
I've recently updated my tablet to a custom ROM for the first time and this is my first post here, so please correct me right away if there is a better place for asking such kind of questions.
My question is specifically about omni-4.4.4 (FINAL). For now I'm not interested in the 5.1.1 branch (NIGHTLY) at all, as I'm looking for stability.
So the question: is there any kind of update policy for the OMNI-4.4.4 branch? In the light of the recently published security flaws in Android, I'd like to know more about my options. I don't mind to try to build the rom myself, provided that the source code in the branch is updated regularly.
Stagefright-Bug-Fix for Galaxy Nexus Kitkat 4.4.4 (post #2) answers the question about the forthcoming update.
Good to know that "FINAL" doesn't mean that support for the branch is over.
Entropy512, do you make any kind of announcement after the source code has been updated? I'm just wandering what is the best way to follow the process.

Click to collapse
We'll make some sort of announcement when it happens.
I have the day off Friday and will hopefully be far enough ahead in the apartment-cleaning process to work on this.
