Help ... display problem. - Touch HD General

Someone hit me at the metro while i was walking with my blackstone in hand. I dropped it hard, battery flung out, etc... After restarting it the display is white-ish i can barely see what's on it.
I would like to know if anyone has an idea of what might be broken and how to test it.
I'm not sure if it's still in warranty i have to check but well i don't even know if i still have the original rom dump (it's orange branded in romania).
So if it's just the display i might probably go for changing the display.
Thanks in advance.
Any small bit of advice is apreciated.
P.S: I already tried hard reset.

Display on acid

Ok I searched and searched but couldn't find anyone with this same problem.
My screen flips out 10-12 times a day. What it look like is imagine a screen reflection in the water then throw a rock in the water. It distorts really bad. Anyone know if there is a fix for this or do I need to buy a new phone?
I'm running 2.26 Rom with my own custom extended rom and lots of programs, speed hacks and a2dp hacks, could some registry setting be doing this? a program?
ouch...sounds to me like you need a new phone. I'd try a hard reset, maybe a stock carrier rom and if that doesn't help, screw it, back it goes.
Its strange its not consistent and usually only on the today screen. I have hard reset the thing and re-flashed it multiple times. Think its slowly turning into a brick? Luckly $50 get me a new one with t-mobile if thats the case
"not consistent" is almost always a hardware problem. A trace somewhere corrodes and causes a resistance but not an open, heat affects a chip....all kinds of things can happen and it's not black and white. If $50 gets you a new one and you've already tried the obviously solutions, there's really no question what the next step should be. At least if it was mine. I'm already on my third phone in less than a year because of hardware problems.
Definitely a hardware problem.
Ahhh ok well. ok thanks for your help and thank god for spb backup
Mine has been doing this for ages... I hope it doesn't brick itself. I have backup and insurance too, thank god!

Defective Unit? Pls advise

Hi Guys!
My TyTn is acting strangely. In use, the display is first pixelating, getting lines (noise pixels as well), and then fading to completely white. When so it doesn't responde to anything anymore. So a soft reset is needed.....
Also the ringtone when called, is 'out of tune', like a old record player when you push your finger on the record.. LOL
Before I send it back to have it fixed by HTC, do you guys have any idea whats wrong, and maybe even a tip to help me fix this myself?
Tried numerous soft resets, hard reset, and a reinstall of the original WM6 rom (in Dutch).
Did not install any new programs lately, or did change anything on the unit...
Don't want to miss my TyTn... so hate to send it away... as many of you I am hooked badly to my beloved digital companion
Greetzz Antal
It acts like hardware incompatible.
How about flashing with WM6 English version.
I don't think it is software problem.
I agree, not likely to be software. It did not get dropped or take a knock did it?
The two issues of pixelation/white screen may, if you are lucky, just be a connector thats loose. The sound I think is unrelated but again sounds like a poor connection at the white rear speaker connector block - not uncommon.
Both of the above could be caused by a sharp knock. There have also been cases of poor battery connections causing problems.
If you have a warranty use it. If not you can follow the dismantling guides or service manual to dismantle - check connections and re-assemble. Be prepared though, that sending it in might still be required!!
Mike
Will send it in
Hi Guys, Thanks fr your replies.
I will take the unit back to the store today.
I am not aware that I bumped it, or neither it has dropped. May be a connection that was allready quite loose to begin with. Lets see what HTC and the store will tell me
Strange thing is, that without my sim in it, and not using it, it stays normal... Have put it aside, and used a very old phone instead, and it is still normal..

Mmmm... that's important information and changes things a bit. Could be a sim card contact or something about the sim. Anyway it tends to suggest that other thoughts about hardware issues may not be correct!
Hope you find the answer at the store.

Raplacement for I/O button on top

Once upon a time when I woke up with a bad mood, I threw my phone away to stop the alarm.. Since that moment my I/O button which is on top of the phone (the one you switch the LCD's blacklight on and off) is hard to push.
The 'clicking-system' is (I think) dented in, and from the surface it actually looks like that too. It still works though, but you have to press really hard.
I asked at the local phone shop what my invoice would look like if I have it repaired by them and I found out it would be better to do it myself.
The problem is that although all the parts which are available on internet, this button is really hard to get. I can;t even find it on eBay (maybe I just search the wrong way).
Does anyone know where to get this, and if it hard to solder it (if needed)?
I am located in The Netherlands, so I prefer something that SHIPS to NL.
I found this (https://www.gsm4world.us/htc-touch-...lex-cable-lcd-key-ear-repair-d-02961_405.html) but I don't know if it will do the job.
Thank in advance guys!
Does anyone know?
gsm4world.us has almost full line of parts for the fuze/tp
Sorry I can't be of more use, but some searching on eBay will show that you can get the same part as on GSM4World a bit cheaper:

Edit: Actually, I'm not convinced that the part you suggested is the one you need. I think you should hold off buying anything until someone can tell you for certain which is best.

weird graphic issue

hey guys!
i really like you´re forum, it was helping me several times...
now i need you´re help again.
I think you will easily recognize that i have a bad problem with
my hermes - if you look at the attached pics.
The touchscreen is working, the device is booting too and is working nice...
but, uhm, well - i don´t know how to fix the problem shown in the pic.
I´d be really grateful if you can solve my problem.
I don´t know what to do, i just disambled it and cleand everything, i tried an hardreset... the problem´s still there. =(
Regards
We'll see what others think, but looking at picture 3, I'd say your LCD is cracked and the the liquid crystal seeping out a little under te digitizer layer. If I'm correct there is only one practical solution and that is a digitizer LCD combo replacement.
If you replace it be very careful to replace it with the correct one - Hermes had at least three different types and it is essential to get like-for-like.
There is a thread here about the different types.
Mike
One way to check if it's a crack is to place some pressure with your finger along that diagonal line - if you see odd colors moving around in a "liquid" way then it is pretty certainly cracked.
Ouch, i also think that, that is a crack.. Did you drop your device or something.? I think you really need to replace your display..
first of all: thx for the fast responses
i tried what you suggested to check if it´s cracked... unfortunately you´re right
i think a replacement would be too much efford and it also would be too expensive and risky... so i think i gonna buy a new pda... htc of course ;-)
thx to you all

HTC Blackstone stays in the DARK(DIMMED) PROBLEM!

Hey everyone. I searched everywhere I could find but with no avail.
Here's my problem. I replace my digitizer with another one. I replaced it just fine as far as my knowledge goes, but after all finished and everything ready and closed/screwed on, I fired it up and the backlight was GONE!
The display works, the touch works, MyMobiler works both with mouse and finger touching on the screen, but the damn screen is DIMMED! I can barely see it if I removed the digitizer or if I shed some light(flashlight) on it from an angle. But just barely.
Tried 3 different ROMs since some suggested that on another thread, did a Hard/Soft reset, with no results.
Is this a screen/dimmer problem or whatever? So if anyone with some answer please help me out. Thank you.
I know that very few look at the Blackstone section nowdays but guys I really need some advice because I need to sell it and I have to pay for repairing(hoping to avoid it) before doing so and also because I already tried everything and I had enough of disassembling it and testing every connector/flex cable if they are connected properly.
Thank you.
loose or dis-connection somewhere..
check all your ribbons are properly lined up, and connected propperly too..
