So Im syncing from my HD2 to my mac via Sync Mate.
I added all of the contact pictures on my HD2 with help of the Sense´s facebook integration.
On my mac these contacts now have either old pictures which I added manually on the HD2 before or no picture at all.
This makes me wonder:
Doesnt Sense write everything in the outlook contacts, and if not can I make it do that?
I think it really sucks that it doesnt use normal contacts and just does it its own way.
On a slightly related note:
When I look at facebook pictures of my friends in the contact tab in sense: Where exactly does sense dump these images? Im asking because if I look at them again theyre still there and dont have to be redownloaded.

ive had to flash my phone and it resync'd with outlook and all my contact pictures on htc hd2 (ALMOST 100 of them have pictures) are blurry..
is there a easy fix for this? or do i have to manually fix them all by searching my caller id pics on storage card?

I've the exact same question...
I thought this happened with just using gmail sync with outlook but it appears from your posts that it's an outlook issue. I tried shooting contact pics from the phone, setting the pics online, and same thing each time.
So I switched to syncing my contacts with MyPhone and they are nice and clear. No more blur
outlook defaults to 128x128 and I have yet you find a fix as I expect exchange servers will maintain there size also. to get your hi-res pics back you need to link them though sense again either manually or by facebook.

Instead I just backup my contacts with pim backup, it's very easy and fast.
I do not update my contacts too much so I'm happy with that. It's worth it.

I also had this problem, but now I finally found a way to fix this.
Install outlook 2010. Outlook 2010 has the automatic option to attach High Res contact pictures.
So what you need to do is:
- Install Outlook 2010
- Add your contact pictures again, and Outlook will put the High res version into your contact.

I like to try new ROMs and my ringtones are all on SD card. 2 problems.
1. Although Contacts get synced with Google just fine, ringtone for contact does not get synced. Is there any fix or program for that ?
2. Seems to be that after syncing Contacts with Google all contact's pictures look blurred. Like they lost resolution. Any idea for fixing that ?
Only when you sync with outlook the picture would not be fuzzy. Don't know about the contact's ringtones.
Resync a few times for image. If you have many ppl it will not sync all at once.

They resync fine. It is just pictures are blurry. I really do not want to go Outlook route - too many problems with duplicates. At least that has been like that with WM

i want to sync facebook accounts only with people on my phone app. but, when i active sync (facebook app / for htc sense) it just add alot of people i dont want in my phone book! i chossed to sync only with existing contacts. the facebook names are in English and contacts name are in Hebrew. so i want to go each contact and link it to his facebook account. now it will add alot to my phone book i cant even delete....
some1 have this problem? how i fix it? i had this problem with all roms! (and i used alot! from 1.32 base and up to kingdom base)
If you press menu, and look for "View" or "Display options", in Settings I think, you'll see that you can change which contacts you want to view. Facebook, Phone, SIM, Google. If you deselect Facebook, it takes all those contacts away, leaving you with the rest, which will still be attached to Facebook.

I had to copy all my contacts from my sim then facebook would sync photos and info across gradually

and my contacts are on google. and i can sync the contacts (manually), but there are atill more contacts i dont want to see there....
What do you mean by phone application? Your phone app gets your contacts from the People app, straight and simple. Please elaborate

1st of all, I like HTC Sense feature to link all contacts together. But there is a problem.
When I have a Google contact WITH picture linked to Facebook contact W/O picture, every time Sync happens - it defaults to contact's FACEBOOK profile (which has no picture assigned). That means that this contact now has NO picture to show.
Sure I can go to Contact details, edit it and assign Google's picture to that contact. Until next Sync
This is really annoying. Any solution, trick, etc ? Except NOT using Sense
Not much you can do about that except tell this person to add a Facebook profile picture?

Am i missing something ? for some reason i cant get my facebook contacts (account) photos to synch up with my google /phone contacts and merge them together. previously on my HTC Evo this was done automatically and i had the option to sync all contacts, sync with existing contacts and this would allow peoples pictures to synch up properly. Is there something with the N4 thats different thats not allowing me to do that. thanks for the advice

This phone doesn't have native Facebook integration as do HTC phones, it's vanilla android after all. So its an issue with the Facebook app and eventually Facebook will fix it but don't hold your breath waiting for them they are slow. Most of my contact pictures synced up but I had some that refused to so I downloaded the app Contact Sync for Facebook and problem solved. This is the best sync app for Facebook I've seen.
