The ringtone question has been answered many times before, search next time. As for your friend not being able to see you, its because your pure has no front camera

Dear all,
Is it possible to configure my XDA Exec such that the persons ringing me can hear my MP3 ringtone as well ?
Thanks
ringtone
ummm, i don't think that is possible, but here, tmobile US has this thing called caller tunes, where you set your account to play a song instead of the pulsing ringing sound when someone is calling you.
In israel we have the same thing,
In israel we have the same thing,
HOWEVER - technically you could do it:
its like a fax machine when it picks up and hears its not a fax call:
it answers, and other side hears a "still no answer" tone and the fax still rings.
you have to write a program that answers the second the call is recieved, starts an mp3 program with a file, and your phone is on mute,
and upon pressing "send" key un-mutes your phone and stops the music.
just dont forget to tell program to hangup after a minute or so
BUT - you have to check when you are on the phone with some 1 and you play an mp3 on WMP or other player - if the other side hears the music while he's muted.
would be a really good idea !
If all you want to do is let them hear it while talking to them, you could get them on the phone and go into phone settings and click play next to the ringtone. They would hear it by proxy so to speak.

You could always learn how to duplicate noises using your mouth. You know, like that dude off Police Academy.

I had something like that on my old Sony J5 mobile phone from a few years ago, an answerphone built into it onto which you could record any answerphone message you wanted.
It is possible. Had a girlfriend once whose phone did that. T-mobile UK and a one-off fee. Cant remember how much though.
I had it also, was totally crap as I had one hell of a lot of missed calls, people would call, it would start ringing, they'd go "What the f....." and hang up!!
It was useful, you could hear them but they could only hear the soundeffect/answerphone phone message, not the microphone, so you could interrupt it if you wanted to talk to them and if not they believed it was just an answerphone.
MP3 caller tune
Dear all, Thank you all for your comments and suggestions, etc.
What I mean is something just mentioned in this post, called caller tune.
Basically, what I want is: the caller can hear MP3 from my phone instead of that boring "pulsed ringing" before I answer the call.
i dont think that will be possible, surlly thats the phone companies ownership
Of course its possible - answer the phone the second it rings, and hold it near your stereo ;o)
Hi,
I've searched Google and the forums, and can't find a solution to this...
I need to make audio notes regularly with Resco Audio Recorder. So I usually make a note, minimize the app, and bring it up again to record a new note.
The problem occurs when someone calls- they can't hear me. It must be that the mic is being used by Resco AR, so can't be used for the call...?
If I receive a call, and shut down Resco AR during the call, the other person still can't hear me, until a few secs or so later... sometimes 30secs
Any ideas for a way around this if possible?
Cheers
p.s. If I turn on the 'record all phone calls' option, the other person can hear me. This is pretty useless though for two reasons:
1. the app doesn't record their voice! (It's faint, but that's what the mic picks up from the speaker)
2. I don't want to fill up my storage with random phone calls!
I have the exact same pb!
I did not havethe time to find another replacement so maybe it's time?? ;-)
No offence but isn't it a better idea to post this question in the resco support forums?
none taken killer
i've posted on resco today too, but was on here at the time so posted it here. plus; from looking on the resco forums no-one seems to have this problem, so it's probably xperia specific.
i think either resco AR needs to release the mic when a call comes, or the xperia needs to takes over the mic (gives phonecall the priority).
but how to do this? if at all possible.....?
Hello, My HD2 phone has weirdest issue, when someone calls me, I can still hear the ring, the sound of the ringtone, but also I can hear the caller if he or she says something, or if the caller is not talking to someone near him, I hear in the background hie environment or some day day I have heard a police car siren, or today I have heard people speaking, the caller was in a office with people talking. The funny thing is that the caller does not know that the phone is answering, otherwise he or she would say hello to me so I guess that the call is not established. I have tried the ghost writer cab with reduced sensitivity but without success. Could it be a carrier issue? I'm on Vodafone RO with HD2 ROM 1.66.405 and radio 2.08.50.08.

Very strange. I think my phone sometimes answers by itself...not sure if I press the button or something cause I keep it in the pouch all the time.
Keep us posted
I have S2U2 installed , and the issue happens even when I leave the phone on a table. Maybe it has something to do with vibrating? Somehow the Answer/Ignore slider get itself moved when vibrating?
Nobody? Everybody has a perfect phone? Please help.
Ok, so I have heard on this forum that other people have strange screen behavior, and a fellow member has same problem as me. Now I have installed the ghost fix 3.2 and I am waiting for improvements. There is still no fix for automatic answer, and someone confirmed that the talking is heard in speaker, not in earpiece.
OK, everybody is claiming that low in call volume is fixed after 3/8 kernel, but try this: dial a number by keypad (with dial pad tones enabled) and make a call. listen to the volume level. Then disable dial pad tones and call again. there should be a huge difference in volume level. You can experiment the same thing by quickly enabling and disabling speakerphone while in a call. I guess the problem is, when a sound is played back (like a ringtone or dialpad tone) in call volume is reduced for a short time. This can be eliminated for outgoing calls by disabling dial pad tone or waiting 2 seconds before pressing call. But for incoming calls, even disabling ringtone is no good. I also tried LVH v3.6 to boost the in call volume but no good. I tried almost all builds, ROM and radio combinations. With the new kernels, all have this problem. The most important function for me is the phone part, anyone has a solution for this?
Did you really need to make a new thread for this? Couldn't this been posted in one of the -post your questions here- topic?
Fix: No, there's no obvious fix (yet). Best fix is to use the supplied (or custom) ear-piece. Never any problem with that.
I felt the need to make a new thread as the old threads were referring to old kernels and most people tend to read only the first post. I wanted to present my observations, which I believe are not stated before, in the original post. Sorry for bothering you and thanks for the info.

I understand why you'd want to open a new thread for this, but this topic will just as much go down under as soon as it's solved or (more not-so-useless) threads get added later on.
Your observations + results could be stickied/hotlinked in the answer topic if they seem to be right-on the money. That way we keep it all nice and tidy, ánd more people would find a quick answer
I have the same exact problem. I hope there is a fix for this soon. Searched multiple times, but haven't found any answer.
I notice when you pick up an incoming call. The volume starts from soft and goes a little louder after about 2-3 seconds.
hi im also suffering from a low in call volume as well with my HD2 has there been any way to resolve this?
iam facing low rington and media volume , i can hardly hear my ringtone when on other room
I disagree with maseo I found this thread useful,
THANKS DUDE
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
hey, try this
when u wait for the other side to pick up the phone or u pressed the answer button when a call comes in
press on the Speaker button to use the speaker phone, then turn it off
repeat it again once
your volume will get lounder just like in WM.
Edit: oops. it was just a hardware failure, the front speaker had bad connection, there are another speaker in the chassis that worked.
thanks
i press the speaker on & off and then is more louder. i wish this will be fix soon.
IT WORKS!!
Hey, so I was/am having this problem but i tried the mute/unmute during a call and it worked. Incoming and outgoing. Only problem is seems to be low every new phone call. So i have to do the mute/unmute at the beginning of each call for it to be ok!
Hopefully there is a permanent fix soon?
Thanks for the post.
I have this same problem. I read somewhere someone having a fix on this.
One more thing, any of you guys had the robo-voice?
Got the same issue. Still no fix out there?
Hello all, I'm new here and have a question for you.
I am running a SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 Version 5.0.1
I frequently make short time-laps recordings and I'm missing phone calls.
I place my phone on the tri-pod to record but when someone calls in I can see someone is calling but it never rings.
I don't care about the noise it makes cause my videos have no noise. Is there a way to still have my phone ring while I'm recording?
