WARNING Nyditot Virtual Display - XPERIA X1 General

new users please aware of the fact that the program crashes x1. Even Hard Reset doesn't works.

doesnt make since.. i dont know of this program, but a hard reset erases everything. so if you having issues with the program, and after a hard reset still have issues, id have to say its the phone or something else.

What's the point to use this on X1?? I remember the good old day only to use it for old WM (2003??) where landscape is not support.

I confirm
For example, I have a Wolfenstein port for WM that runs perfectly on your Jack Medium 15, Jack but the problem is that it's VGA, and it would be perfect to make the picture fill the whole screen, not just the VGA part of it.
But tried it the hard way, and can confirm that Nyditot Virtual Display REALLY DOES NOT WORK in X1. Had to reflash.

Wizard soft resetting by itself

I know that this problem has been mentioned in 2 posts earlier on.
I thought I bring it up again, maybe sb. has a solution or good idea.
My Wizard (K-JAM) resets itself in regular intervals by itself. After the reset, no input of PIN is required. Means you don't really loose the radio capability. It is annoying anyway.
Happens on the newest i-mate ROM but also happened on the earlier ROM version.
Could it be an application doing it ? I checked the notification queue, nothing abnormal there.
Anybody has the same problem or an idea ?
Cheers
hrb
My magician done that until latest T-mobile ROM
Perhaps a bug or 2 outstanding pending fix lists.
IF only vendors were like MS and had a publically viewable list of known bugs.
Then again if they acknowledge them we might get together for a class action.
My opinion is these devices are rushed to marked and vendors prefer to rush new models out instead of fixing existing issues.
Saw for the first time 5 minutes ago that my Qtek 9100 was doin a soft reset to ...
But as you said it only restart and no pin requierd so that's something you have to live with no updates yet.
Do you have Skype installed?
It did the same for me with Skype.
as meroupow said, i had reset problems until i removeed skype,
and resets went away
Never had Skype installed

Quite possibly way off topic but...
My old ipaq used to do the same to me all the time (i know its different hardware & software) but i eventually found it was flexing very slightly in my pocket. Added 1 aluminium alloy case - no more resets.
Just wondering if you wizard is under any physical stress that could be casuing a hardware fault / power interuption.

Thx for your advice.
The device has only been sitting on the desk or in my hands. It resets about every half hour wherever it is.
Cheers
hrb
btw: it resets also in flight mode !
i Know its a PITA but you might wanna go through a hard reset and see what it does on the basic "as shipped" setup. if its all ok add software 1 piece at a time until you see the problem reappear. if it fails after the reset you may have a faulty device, contact your seller.
If you find its "software x" do another hard reset and put that software on first, then see (to see if its X or if X is conflicting with another piece) then i'd make a new topic along the lines of:
Software X & Y on my wizard causing random resets
or
Software X and random resets
Sry i cant be more help

My XDA mini is doing exactly the same - I was searching to see if anybody else was getting this.
I think it may well be to do with Skype as I think it started after I installed it.
Mine does it while sitting on the desk, so it's unikely to be a loose battery or contact issue. Also the fact that the radio is not affected point to a SW poblem.
I'll get rid of Skype and see how it goes
reset
I have the same problem on my K-jam. I removed my 1GB MiniSD (Sandisk) from the slot and the reset problem was gone.
Then I put the MiniSD back to the slot and the reset problem came back again.

After hardreset and new installation it's work good now so it must be a SOFTWARE problem
my qtek reboot too
program installed:
resco explorer 5.31 with registry add-in
sunnysoft backup manager 3.7
tcpmp (but the resets were happening before installation
call sms blocker (but the resets were happening before installation

A pocket pc should NEVER reboot alone that is a huge bug.
The only way when it gets like this is hard reset.
Then use it for a while and if there is no soft reset start installing softwares one by one.
If it soft resets after hard reset change your rom to a better one or bring it back.
Hi,
I had the same problem as well, random reboots. I noticed as you did that removing the miniSD storage card fixes the problem; I then tried to reformat my miniSD and it *seems* the problem has now dissapeared... Regarding the applications, the first time I noticed that problem was maybe 5 mn after I got it out of the box (was brand new) ... with no applications installed at all !
Try formatting (and then copyback the files) the miniSD, it could help ...
The funny thing concerning that problem is that it does not ask for the PIN anymore ... it makes me think it could be a 'normal' behavior, as to say that under some circumstances, WM2005 deliberately decides to reboot the device ...
Mine did this in the car today, just sat in its cradle, suddenly I saw the blue "Windows Mobile" screen.
Never asked for a PIN, but it wasn't until I got home that I realised that it hadn't re-connected to my service provider.
A soft reset later, and it was working again.
Latest O2 rom.
Strange but true
Happened to me as well today... as i took it out of the pouch.. cursed myself of being clumsy... Now i feel better. 8)

Problems so far...

I have been having teh following problems with my X1 and just spoken to O2, have arranged an exchange. I could probably do some reset on it and sort the problem, but since I am still withint the 28 days period, why the hassle?
- Phone loves turning itself off, not the screen, but the phone itself.
- Passcode playing trick, half of the time even I entre the correct code, it won't unlock my phone, and says wrong passcode.
- Installed apps can't be found even the successfully installed message shows up.
- none of the games I have installed works or else won't work to the full screen.
- Google Mail won't work after installed from the Google website.
Anyone eles have the same problems? Or is it just me?
as of now maybe just you mate, maybe something you have installed. maybe try to hard reset just to find out and if nothing happens then exchange it. it's worth the try mate and tell us what happens.
My Xperia has a faulty headphones socket I returned it to where I got it from, then they sent me another one. And guess what that had a faulty headphone socket as well.
When the headphones are inserted nothing happens. Also the headphone icon does not appear.
Any Ideas ??
A hard reset is a good idea, or I might have to wait forever for the phone to arrive, always out of stock... what is SE playing at?
I have tried hard reset and it dosent work
It seems to me that the X1 has so many little problems as I have heard / seen, this si my first WM phone, so can't compare... nearly sold my X1 for an iphone (I am a Mac user), but no, not worse the money.
maybe xperia phones are selling well, lol.
go for the hard reset mate.
@brut3forc3
maybe its the same phone, lol
if not return it to them again and ask them to check the unit in front of you

Or rather push stronger the mini jack,
it normally stays on some position, the last fragment has to be pushed a bit harder.

hard reset won't solve the problem of your headphone problem mate, its a different problem
If you have problems with your X1s either
A) take them back to your supplier,
B) use the SE X1 support (theres a little silver card in with all the documents).
If the device is turning off (completely) then it's a hardware fault, have you checked the power settings?
funny enough, I had exactuly the same problem (phone turning itslef off) with my SE W960, sent it in for repair, nothing was found... I bet it would be the same this time, maybe I just don't have those so called "technician hands" I work in technical support and very often with the head technician touches certain things, they work!)
I have checked the power setting, nothing is wrong, just weird... maybe I am just unlucky.
Like other replies suggested, a hardware reset would probably do the job, but since I am still within the 14 or 28 days period, I would rather not take the risk of having the same problem again o day 29 where I would have to send it in for repair than having a new handset...
My biggest gripe with this phone is the double tap/ click bug or feature.
It appears that even while the screen is on and the back light is off, when you tap the screen it turns on the backlight and then you have to tap again to perform an action.
1 - never had that problem
2 - never had that one either
3 - Sometimes it does that, but it's the app's fault, not the phone's.
4 - Games are working fine if you install the "arm" ones adn the ones that are for ppc. The resolution is not a problem of the phone. It's just that the phone is new and not many game manufacturers support it. Yet.
5 - Idon't use Gmail sorry

Xperia X1 is one of a kind, a new breed of HI-RES WVGA devices. Check if those games are compatible with WVGA resolution or exchange your Xperia for an archaic QVGA device

Hmmm... you don't need to download the google app at all, that's for older, slower, low-mem devices.
I use google all the time
1- Open gmail's web page in Opera browser
2- Set up your gmail account in Mesages, it is autoamted and works a treat !!!
IN CONCLUSION: I think your phone is OK. Mine never turns off, never freezes, never hangs up
I've had the diamond, tytn etc and let me tell you this phone is far more reliable than those previous devices...
Don't blame the phone, blame some app or tweak you have done
May I suggest you to hard-reset the phone and start installing your apps, mods and tewaks one by one until you find the faulty one
Remember: this is not a simple "phone": ithis is a computer with Windows.
You wouldn't be blaming Dell if your PC becomes unstable after adding some programs/apps/games that are not suitable for your, let's say, video graphics card as an example
I have somewhat of a problem with mine 2.. It doesn´t seem to play any of my mp3´s that i put on it,but wma files work just fine.. Strangely it plays the mp3´s that were on it when i bought it.. Any idea what the problem might be??
Well, I have changed the setting abot teh power, still happening, nevermind, a replacement is coming tomorrow, so I guess I will just start fresh again. What do they do with these faulty phones? Do the fix them and sell the as reconditioned at a lower price or sth? How about those unwanted return? Just a matter of interest.

Get past tap Welcome with bad touchscreen?

Bought a donor phone that had known problems with the touchscreen. The owner did a hard reset thinking it would improve but the phone is stuck on the tap to begin Welcome Screen. I bought the phone because my radio is dead/dying on my Herm200 which is pristine physically.
First I can get into the phone via Activesync and it can read the SD card so I can explore the phone.
Tried the welcome.not on the sd card that people use on the Kaiser but it didn't work. Opened wordpad created a blank file and named it welcome.not.
Is there a file that I can delete or change on the phone that can get past the tap to begin screen. Going to swap the motherboard out but I want to test it before taking it apart. Test bluetooth, sim card and wifi as well as to check if its unlocked and what is the software version.
Thanks in advance.
If you have a 2nd Hermes, download an app called "Remote Screen Alignment" (freeware). It copies the alignment settings to the pc and allows you to set up the Hermes, after a Hard reset, using the backed up data. Its supposed to be for visually impaired users but I find it bloody awesome when the touchscreen doesn't work. You still have most of the functionality of the Hermes through the hardware buttons but there are things that require the touchscreen.
Good as a stopgap measure to use or test out the device.
Cheers...
Thanks - ended up by swapping the motherboard to the phone that had a bad radio but a good touchscreen. Everything worked out and at least I have one functioning phone. At least out of the deal I'll have a spare flexcable, dpad board, spare battery and stylus. My dpad on the now working phone I think is on its way out as I'm starting to get some screen washouts that can be recovered and when you use the directional keypad it sometimes doesn't work and can only be recovered by moving the scroll wheel. That swapout I'll leave for the weekend.

Tragedy...

the other day i was using my HD then next time i tried to use the fone, the touch screen would not respond.
All the hard buttons worked but not the touch screen. Then i noticed some swirly rings on the screen if you reflect light off of it.
Tried soft and hard reset, but i couldnt allign screen coz no touch worked.
anyway, i have now spoken to my insurance and hopefully my case should be OK and i should get a new fone.
I am just wandering if I should go for HD2 or something else, because i was gettin fed up at times with HD.
No good software or apps like iphone, very slow at times, just not as great as it should be. i have tried HD2 before, and didnt find much difference, just faster. and touch screen takes gettin used to. But i think the insurance will offer HD2.
But is there any other fone i should get instead?
thanks
Please use the search function. This problem is called Newtons Rings. It is well documented throughout the forums.
Your querie about staying with HD, HD2 or moving over to iPhone has also been answered. It is simply a case of your preference of a customizable and multi-task capable interface (Windows Mobile), or an entertainment system (iPhone)
As per above post. Already a number of thread on 'Newton' rings. All you need to do is search for 'newton' to find one of these

Urgent please help with Tmo USA phone

Only one day left for me to exchange this phone and i just noticed that if i rotate the screen in Opera or skyfire it freezes and have to pullout a battery. After hard reset same thing. In picture mode it rotates fine
What could be causing this.
Thanks

i suggest exchange the phone as you will get a new one and it could be defect free...but i really dont know if there is a problem with your current phone
I called, they don't even have them.... all sold out.
The thing is that sometimes it works and goes to landscape and most of the time it doesn't with no apps installed. Crazy
Get documentation
I would go in, get names, tell them you want exchange, but can't do without phone. get something in writting, that you will get exchange as soon as phone is in stock. Good luck
I don't see how this could in any way be related to hardware, and as such I don't see how you have a 'defective' phone.
Since it works for some applications and not others, i would argue that it's clearly something to do with software.
When you did a hard reset (aka erased everything and brought the phone to its original condition), did you try to first open the included opera and see if you could rotate it?
I'm pretty sure it's something you're installing or maybe some reg tweak you're applying.
I would try to do a hard reset. And then try again with the stock opera before you install anything.
Again, I don't think you have a defective phone. It's prolly just some piece of software/tweak.

After hard reset the first thing i did was opened Opera and once in landscape mode it crashed, after rebooting i tried again and it didn't, but most of the time it freezes, most likely it is the version of windows since i even tried disabling UI sense.
Flashing a custom rom will solve the problem 100%, but im guessing that you're one of those super paranoid user about warranty and such, it's best if you just return the unit entirely.
