Sorry to post this but I cannot find the thread.
I had to recover from a backup last week and I had the device set to lock on a prolonged press of the green off hook button. That no longer works.
Does anyone know the details of this? I would like to get that back and I am sure I simply stumbled across it on here somewhere.
Anyone got a clue?
funny you should mention it, over in the theme forum

I swear I did not change any settings, but starting yesterday my Wing would just lock itself when the screen shuts off. Anyone know how to disable this? Thanks
*edit*
another odd thing I noticed - I don't have to unlock when the phone's charging. very weird.
what programs are you using? If you hold down the end key for a second, the phone will lock. Maybe you are accidentally bumping it when you put it in your pocket or case.
Sorry I wasn't more specific... I'm running ttran's OpenTouch 3.0. when I turn on the screen (using the power button) I need to press unlock twice to get to the main menu. It's annoying and I'd like to get rid of it. idk... I didn't change anything and it just randomly started happening yesterday. help?
I agree with you PharmacySchool...I'm running Ttran's 3.0 ROM myself and the "locked" feature pop-up on me this afternoon, out of the blue. It is very annoying and I'm not sure what caused it to start happening. Was getting an address out of the contacts list, X'ed out of contacts once finished, clicked the power button to turn the screen off...next time I went to use the phone, it magically was locked and has been since. A real pain to have to hit the unlock button twice just to use the phone. Have played around a little with it, but no success on correcting the problem yet.
Make sure you're not overclocking the phone. This can cause lock ups if the CPU overheats or if it doesn't get the required voltage or for other reasons.
The lock I'm referring to and I believe PharmacySchool...is like a "key lock". How some phones have an option to lock the keys so it can't accidentally call someone if numbers get pressed by mistake or while in your pants pockets. Nothing to do with the CPU or it being overheated. All you have to do is press the button to turn the screen light off and instantly turn it back on...it's locked. You have to hit the "unlock" button on the bottom left hand corner and the tap the unlock button on the screen. After doing such...you can once again use your phone.
I have the answer!!!

I'm pretty knew at this but I ran into the same problem and I figured out how to fix it. I don't know all the fancy wording so bare w/me. On your main screen touch and hold your battery symbol/ 6th option down says DeviceLock with a green check/ uncheck that **** and your good to go.
NOW someone PLEASEEEEE create a slide 2 "answer" not a slide 2 lock. I am so tired of my phone answering its self in my pocket when I don't want it to.
A_C 's S2U2 has a slide to answer feature..... You should check it out.

I've installed S2U2-0.2-WM5 with Touch It v2.3 and had problems. I think I remember it having a slide to answer but I also remember it answering with the green button as well. Maybe there was a way to disable it but I don't know how.
Does it work better Open Touch v3.0. because thats what I'm running now.
WOW... thats an OLD version.... that version should not have the slide to answer.....Current Version is 0.99p. It can be found in the development and hacking forum. You'll need to enable the S2A feature with the settings program...Man the apps come a LONG way since your version...We got animated gif support, Random still backgrounds, an exceptions list so voice dialers will work properly and internet browsers will stay alive... Just try the new version.

NICE!!!!! Works good so far. Now I won't be divorced! LOL
I have a Kaiser, and there's nothing more irritating than accidentally bumping a button while having the phone in your pocket, then having random things in your pocket scroll through your address book until it calls someone. Or opens up IE and finds a high-bandwidth website. When you don't have a data plan.
Things like this hurt. I've been trying to find a solution to it, and I happened to stumble upon an olllllld application on another forum. It's called AutoLock. I found it Here.
Anyways, long story short, it uses the built-in Windows Mobile screen lock and turns it on whenever the phone's screen turns on. So hitting the power button is enough to lock your phone. It's super convenient, and for the most part, it's not too buggy.
I've been using this for probably over a month now. It's a lifesaver. I had the .exe on my SD card, and every time I reflashed, I had to make a new shortcut and place it into the startup folder. So tonight, I made a CAB file out of it.
I hope you guys get as much use out of it as I do.
A quick note: It runs in the background. Terminating it will not allow it to function. The CAB will add a shortcut to the startup folder, so a soft reset will start it. Otherwise you can start it from the shortcut in the Programs folder.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Is there a way to disable the program window that pops up after a soft-reset?
A: There is no way to disable the message screen on startup. Just hit the X in the top right corner, and it should minimize out of sight.
Q: When receiving a call, does the answer button and screen stay locked?
A: The answer button and the screen both unlock when the phone is ringing. If the call is answered/ignored/stops ringing, the screen will be re-locked.
Q: Will it work with my phone?
A: This program has been confirmed to work on a few models. I believe that it should work on pretty much any touchscreen device running Windows Mobile. Please, try it and tell me if it works!

Kaiser (ATT Tilt)
Touch Pro (Fuze)

this is a very usefull program.is there anyway to disable message screen when program start after softreset?thanks a lot in advance
It's unfortunate that I didn't create this program. I only found it through about six months of searching on the internet. Maybe a friendly XDA-Developer could write a similar program and keep it updated with new features!
As far as I know, there's no way to disable the message screen on startup. Just hit the X in the top right corner, and it should minimize out of sight.
As for if it works on a Diamond... go try it and tell me how it works!
Awesome program! Thanks
Looks interesting. Thx for sharing!

So what happens when a call comes? Does it lock the answer button too? And the screen?

Since it's the inbuilt Windows Mobile locking setup, when a call comes in, the phone is still locked, but the answer skin floats above the lock. So the screen "unlocks" so you can answer or reject the call, but it locks as soon as you answer or ignore it again.
I've discovered, using my Jade, that you can do the same thing by just setting the built-in Windows Mobile device lock to 0 minutes... You'd need to provide a password, though...
First press of the power button puts the phone to sleep... Press it again, it will ask for your password to unlock...
I searched, perhaps not hard enough, but - if I'm in an application such as Opera and I'm holding the phone sideways, and I hit the Home button, I get a the home screen is clearly sideways BUT it's solid black and doesn't respond except for "Phone" "Menu" and the taskbar at the top... If I lock the phone while in landscape mode, the Lock screen is sideways but the slider sometimes doesn't respond and the background is tiled.
Is there a registry setting or cab that will allow the Home and Lock screens to auto rotate (and function normally)? In fact if I could somehow just use the phone entirely in landscape mode that would be perfect I've found older threads that say it's not possible with sense 2.5. Guess I'm just looking for clarification.
I would like to know how to do this also. I have been looking for hours and I cant find anything on it. let me know please if you find anything, and I will do the same for you.
I tried bsb tweaks and it rotates the home screen, but the background doesn't display properly and I can't click anything until I rotate it back the right way.
I could have sworn I saw someone mention on here or another site how to do this but I can't remember who or where. oh well.
thanks,
michael
Found it
I found what we were looking for. I was searching the wrong forum.
The posts title is: Manila 2.5.1922: BG4All LANDSCAPE
The post is in the HTC Leo Apps and Themes sub-forum.
Would post a link, but it won't let me.
It's a manilla modification, and I think it may require certain ROMs. I have not read through the whole thing yet just wanted to post this to you because I said I would.
I have been searching for hours in the wrong forum. Oh well at least I found it.
Later,
Michael
I'm SHOCKED, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, to see that Google still hasn't fixed the bug where during screensaver, if you tap the screen, sometimes it wakes the phone and sometimes it turns the display completely off.
Also a bit of a new bug I encountered last night when I plugged the phone in. It was auto-updating apps, and screensaver came on, and it appeared to flash back to the home screen briefly to "show" the notification that the update had completed for a given app, and then back to screensaver. Only happened once though.
FFS guys.

Hi, long time casual forum reader having trouble with my galaxy note 3. I've found so much useful information on these forums it's the first place I decided to ask for help at after unable being to find any answer by searching Google or these forums. The problem:
Whenever I hold down my finger on the touchscreen it is not working properly. I am unable to drag and drop icons on the home screen by holding down then dragging them. I am unable to hold down on a link in Chrome and have the option menu appear which allows you to open in new tab. I CAN hold down and scroll the screen up/down.
I do not know what is causing this problem. I have in the past closed out various unknown/system services in the application manager but haven't ever disabled any. I have restarted my phone multiple times leaving it powered off for over a minute before repowering. I am using a tmobile galaxy note 3. That is not rooted. I have the most recent update from tmobile (installed it hoping that it would fix the problem). Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong or how to fix it? I'd be more than happy to provide more information if required.
Thanks
Correct terminology?
If no one has any ideas for how to solve this problem, does anyone know the correct terminology to use to describe when you press and hold your finger down on the screen then try to drag? I'm thinking part of the problem I'm having with searching for a solution is that I'm using incorrect search terms to describe the problem. I've tried things like press and drag, long hold, drag and drop, and various other similar terms. I'm hoping the correct terminology might yield results related to this issue. Thanks!
