damn
wellyou can. just go contact by contact and click menu, save to sim.
if you're upgrading to a different ppc, let me know, for that you can use a SIM Backup utility.
Unfortunately I may well be moving away from the Windows Mobile scene. I always used to use it because of work, keeping my diary up to date, contacts, etc... but started a new job and they use NOVELL GROUPWISE as their mail client so unfortunately my phone/PPC is half of what it used to be
Not quite sure what phone I want yet so just need to get my contacts onto my SIM card.
Then you better backup to Outlook (using ActiveSync).
Many phones now provide Outlook synchronization.
I agree, for better or worse Outlook is about the only way when moving to another platform, if in fact that platform will sync to Outlook. But even then it's not always clean, or comprehensive. Good luck!
Use sim manager
thank you very much
6.5
This software doesn't work on my Windows Mobile 6.5?
sim to phone

Calender Question??

Would appreciate some instructions on how I can transfer my Calender information when moving my SIM card between my TYTN II and my Touch Dual. The main phone I use is the TyTN II but I also use the Touch Dual and would like to keep my Calendar information on which ever phone Iam using. I do use ActiveSync, but do not use Outlook. Please help. Thanks!

questions about the very first set up

hey out there.
following your postings about rom devs and flashing for further improvements some weeks i have a small but important question
since i got my blackstone 2 minutes ago and i want to go through SPL, roms and more very soon i dont know, if:
i should start using the phone, like it is (no branding).
put my 200 contacts from my old symbian phone into it by my self (is there any automatic "sync symbian contacts to WM6 contacs" tool?)
install active sync and create some backup/sync source now?
or is this useless, because i cant sync back to it, after i flashed rom/spl etc?
greetings
Good luck with the HD - I'm sure you will like it.
My suggestions:
1. Stick with the standard ROM for now and explore the features.
2. Sync your contacts to Outlook on the PC. I have often changed phone or ROM and always been able to sync the contacts, calendar, tasks, etc with no problem. I don't know about Symbian but you probably can export the contacts file from the old phone to a file that Outlook can read. Once you have the contacts in Outlook on a PC then you can sync when ever you need and after any future ROM change.
I'm still on the standard ROM but with lots of extra add-on apps and tweaks:

Sorry to hear that. I have never seen that on my phone.
Is your phone a sim-locked or fully sim-free phone or a new ROM ?
It sounds like to me that the phone does not have a full implementation for your country and maybe that it has a new ROM from someone other than HTC ?

Pay a visit to HTC website and download and install latest rom for your region if available.

XDAII to HD2 transfer

Sorry if this is already somewhere on the Forum, but I searched and couldn't find it.
I have an XDA II (Himalaya) and have just got a HD2 (Leo) (great device)
How do I easily transfer all the contacts and other data from the XDA II onto the HD2 please? Don't want to do it long hand:-(.
Thanks, Sam K.
Wow thats quite a Jump. Xda2 -to- HD2
The easiest way to do a sync (according to me)
Is to sync your contacts to Google
More info on Google sync
m.google.com from your device.
and then copy them to whichever device you jump into.
ahh xda2,, lovely. I had a IIi and I loved it. . . .till some scum bag burglar stole it.was more upset about the phone than the 32 inch lcd telly!
wish i could have gone from that to my hd2 and skipped the rubbish symbian years!

search for and download/install pimbackup, then copy the backup database to the HD2, install pimbackup to the hd2, choose to restore data, and it's done. Easier done than said.
Thanks
Sorry for the late reply but that worked great. Many thanks ephestione.

Contacts

So here's my situation... i am a former ATT customer... and just so recently switched over to TMOBILE... now how can i save my contacts to my storage card so that i can just plug it in to my new phone.... i tried Active Sync with my Fuze and for some reason its not connecting... i don't know why.. so thats out of the question... is there any app out there or something that can let me put all my contacts on my HD2?? i suppose i could do it manually.. but it seems rather tedious... any help is appreciated
Hi, Can you sync your Fuze with Microsoft Myphone then transfer over to your HD2?
Are your contacts on your ATT SIM? Could you insert your ATT SIM into your HD2 and transfer? There are also SIM backup and restore solutions (a quick Google would uncover the best one for you).
Just some thoughts.

a windows mobile app called "vcard expert" can backup & restore all your contacts in a single file. used it on an HD2 worked ok.
