Just checked HTC official websites Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and found LEO08007 Update was unseen in all the three websites.
My experience of using this update is that the sender's name could not be identified when I received a piece of SMS, even if the sender is in my Contacts. This is why I just now checked out the official websites.
Am only waiting for newer updates.
I installed the hotfix when it was released a few days ago, but removed it right after installation.
I have been using Jeyo Mobile Extender to transfer sms to my outlook, and it already gives the suffix ''- GSM'' to every sms after transfering to my outlook, which doesn't show when the sms are on the phone
After I installed the sms hotfix, the ''-GSM'' suffix appears in every sms IN the phone, which was not the case before. That's the mean reason I removed the hotfix since i think its too strange to see such wordings in every sms.
For the part on the loading of sms, it has been suggested in other posts to be able to type while the messages loads, but i haven't been able to test it out since i have synced all my sms to my outlook

How did you remove it? It doesn't create an entry in "remove programs" and I'd like to remove it too.
Thanks
Yes, I would like to know that as well.... How to uninstall it without having to do a hard reset.
That update was a radio ROM update. I doubt it could be uninstalled.

No it wasn't. That's the SIM Contacts hotfix.

Actually I can't find a way to remove it as it was not present in the installed programs list
What I did is restore my phone using a backup file from spb backup from several days ago
Sorry for misleading you mate
Please don't install LEO08007 patch. I am installed it. But when I use HTC group sms and save the sms to draft. The system is slowing down, it will be crashed down the system. I need to soft reset my HD2. So, I install other groupsms software to prevent the crash. I report to HTC Hong Kong custom service hotline. The HTC website is removed the patch at 17th January, 2010.
LEO08007 is conbined into system. No any unistall. Remember it.
it caused the phone to stop charging via usb..
i did an hard reset..

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so move the topic if necessary.
A few weeks back I bought an X1(Branded Dutch T-Mobile Version) and I've been having problems with the receiving of SMS'. My Today screen indicates there are new messages, eg. SMS \ MMS: 1 unread. But when I check my messages there's nothing there. I tried to see if it may be a false positive, by having a friend send me a text message, but the number did increase, and the message box was still empty. I tried reseting the rom, which obviously killed the messages, but new messages are still not getting through.
Anybody else experiencing the same problem? Anybody know what is going on? How can I recover the (invisible) messags?
Thanks a bunch
that's weird. uh, really weird. it's either YOU have a bad rom/phone software so better have it checked OR your not looking in your SMS/MMS inbox but your outlook inbox instead.

i had the same prob, someone sent me a text and the phone froze, when i turned it on had that message. the only way i found to get rid of it was to delete the message coversation with the person.
i had the same problem, only a hard reset solves the problem. after the hardreset everythink worked fine. some other people at the german xperia board got the same problem.
I tried to hard-reset to no avail. Deleting previous conversations doesn't help. Even SMS' from unknown contacts stay hidden. When I try to export my messages using PIM Backup 2.8 It shows that I have 2 'Text Messages' folders in the export root. One with the hidden(unread) messages. And one with the visible ones. When I exported the messages and reimported them, they stayed hidden. When I wrote a program to parse the PIM Backup exported file. I could see that the hidden messages get properly exported.
Any ideas?
Hearing that the German based roms have troubles too, could it be a reg setting that is wrong, something with localization? I really hate that I have a Dutch rom.
i had this problem i simply hard reset it and it was gone...if this didnt work then try reflashing the orignal rom
I just ran into the same issue.
Funny is that I did hard reset on not flashed orginall Dutch T-mobile X1 which was working good. Well now it is not :/
Tip for others looking for a quick workaround: use uiggmo light panell to read them. The only way I found so far.
I am flashing mine today. (Before I will hand it over due to case issue).
Hey everyone,
I've got an issue with my Dutch T-Mobile X1, my SMS messages don't show up correctly. On the SE panel it shows that there are new messages, for example 2 new sms. But when I check the inbox there is nothing new.
I updated the phone yesterday through update service in the hope that it would fix it, beforehand it (the SE panel) would for example say that there 70(!) new messages. But I fear the update didn't fix anything.
Also, messenges that I've sent show up in my inbox? What's up with that?
If I knew a screenshot-maker I could post some screens to better illustrate the problem.
I have the same problem with my X1. The Home-Screen shows one unread sms-message but my sms inbox is completely empty, also the other sms folder are empty.
I have tried the following things:
- unistalled xperia tweak software
- soft reset
- restore sms/mms data from my spb backup file
- send me a new sms and tried to delete ALL
Also I have searched in the registry for a key to change, but I haven't found one.
Could anybody help me?

I have just flashed to Dutty's 3.9 ROM and restored all my contacts initially with sprite backup, it did not seem to identify my new sms's with the caller ID saved in the phone untill i go furthur into TF3D which takes a long time to load, anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I tried searrching but cant seem to come up with anything!
i have subsequently deleted the contacts and restored them from the myphone service, still no luck....
edit: update from myphone seems to have cured the problem for new messages
however my messages tab is very slow to load, when wanting to reply to a message, also anyone know how to get it to go to the original windows reply window rather than the one from TF3D?

I used to face a similar problem like yours, but I've used activesync instead, and all incoming text messages/calls aren't recognized. At the time I solved the problem simply by flashing the phone with another rom (I've tried several roms and I think my phone is quite picky, there are quite a lot of roms in which it can't identify incoming texts and calls).
I am also using the original windows window for texts and here's what i did:
* hide the manila sms tab
* replace the right softkey button on the home tab to direct it to the windows default sms window. This can be done through a registry editor:
1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila in registry
2. If you don't have a String entry called LandscapeMenuRSKPath, add it.
3. Edit the value of LandscapeMenuRSKPath to read: \windows\tmail.exe
4. If you don't have a String entry called LandscapeMenuRSKText, add it.
5. Edit the LandscapeMenuRSKText value to read: SMS
6. If you don't have a string called LandscapeMenuRSKArguments, add it.
7. Edit the value of LandscapeMenuRSKArguments to read: -service "SMS"
That's it.

What ROM did you make the backup in Sprite from? Also, did you only backup your contacts with it? If not, did you do a level 1 merge when you restored it?
hi all!
i have the following problem with my messaging client, and thus i'm in search
of the database file which stores (caches) the conversation history in
conversation mode:
after every rom update i perform (and after restoring the messages with either
pimbackup or spb-backup) my conversation history is screwed up. i get wrong
contact pictures (only in messaging client) or no pictures at all, entrys showing
only the contact numbers, not the names (if i tap on such entry the sms contact
page pops up, but without any sms inside) and other strange things.
it's not a problem with the restored sms'es itself, in traditional mode they
are all ok. what's screwed up is only the conversation page (not for all entrys,
but for most of them).
when i recieve or send a sms from a specific contact then the entry in the
conversation mode gets fixed, as well sometimes when i edit some contact
details for a specific contact.
that's the reason why i believe that it's just the conversation database file
which is out of order after a restore, and if i would be able to force a rebuild
of this file (by simply deleting it) my problems would be gone.
i searched this forum and google, but it seems that nobody has an idea
where this file (or is it a reg entry? i doubt that!) is located.
again: i'm not searching for the database for the sms'es, i'm searching for
the database or cache file for the htc messaging client which stores the
conversation history!
can anybody please point me to the right direction?
many thx in advance!
regards,
markus
Hi,
I have the same problem....
Pomi
Hi,
Any solution up to now?
It's annoying
no, sorry: no solution till now!
i flashed my hd2 two days ago, and i fixed the database (for most of the contacts) by adding them one by one to the people tab. after each person i had to do a soft reset, after booting up again the sms history of the last added person was ok!
if some kind soul can tell us where the damn database is located it would be much easier...
Thanks,
It helped a little but still a big mess,
Hopefully good solution will be discovered soon
If you have Jeyo Mobile, you'll see that they create a folder called "conversations" under SMS..
Basically they dump a copy of the latest SMS there, and that'll be the sms on display at the start of the thread.
What I used to do is to delete the stuff in the conversations folder, delete the folder, back up.
After backing up WITHOUT the conversations folder, I'll restore.
Here's where the problem comes in...
Sometimes I restore in the conversation mode, sometimes I restore in the traditional mode. They work most times, but not all times. The conversation threads get rebuilt.
However recently (30 min ago) i just flashed a custom rom... and I realised that my method doesn't work anymore.. let me try try and I'll update again.
I just realised that with the new rom, my method still works.. but it seems to slows the entire phone down as it rebuilds the conversations... (previously I was using the official rom, and it works plenty fast)..
5 min and it's still rebuilding... maybe I should just restart my phone a few times...

i have had the same problem when i restored all my sms's with myphone.
i flashed to energy rom and installed htc message (its by default removed from that rom ) and my hd2 also slowed down, i have had it like that for about a day and then i realised its not going to be fixed by waiting so i removed all my messages and it was fast again

I see.. I think it may all be due to the newer manila versions not handling massive number of SMSes... I was on 1.66 till recently, and I was doing almost 2000 smses WITHOUT any slowdowns...
I trimmed it to 1000 smses to move to custom ROMs and now it seems like a few of the newer ROMS supporting the "extra" ram can't handle even just that...

hmm now you mention it i think that is true. i am using a rom that supports the extra ram.
how is ur hd2? has it shown any signs of improvement? to be sure. you are having slowdown of your entire hd2 right? weather animations, everything that moves actually. can you try and delete a random conversation. then it should be fast again for a short period of time..

my HD2 showed no signs of improvement. It got really bad: I couldn't make calls: the system spent 38 seconds trying to load everything on the contact page when I tried to make calls. I was outside, in need of a phone, so I hard-reset the phone (just so that I have something that I can use). It was perfect from there (you know, as a blank phone with no info).
Loading 1000+ contacts up again didn't cause the same issue again.
Loading just 500+ smses started the whole nonsense again.
Tried with a few other ROMs with extra RAM, the same happened - think the newer ROMs with extra RAM just can't handle a large number of SMSes.
You may not notice the slow down if the smses come in incrementally, but when I loaded all the smses at the same time the phone just obviously slowed down.

I have an HTC Legend (Vodafone Branded), that I am using unlocked in Lebanon.
Mobile phone numbers usually start with 03, and the International Country Code is +961.
When I send a message, it gets sent as 03****** and is stored in one thread. Then, when the same person replies to my message, it arrives as +9613******. The phone is considering them as 2 different phone numbers, and storing the received messages in a different thread.
Is there any solution? Shall I install a non-branded ROM or anything? Is there an app for that?
Btw, I have updated yesterday to 2.05.161.1 OTA, and now in addition to this problem, I have the problem of the SMS showing older messages first.
Handcent SMS doesn't fix the thread problem btw...
bump.... anyone?
The first problem I don’t recognize but I also have the problem that, when ever I got a new SMS, I have to scroll down to the bottom of the SMS list before I can read it. I did not have this problem before I did the update. I checked with a friend that has HTC Desire and he dose not have the same problem after the update. When he opens the SMS the list will show the last SMS that has received.
Same thing happens to me if I send a message to 09x xxx-xxxx, but if a message is sent to +385 9x xxx-xxxx it is in one thread, together with a reply. That's why I store all contacts with a country code (+385).

The ordering is a bug in the 2.05 update.
The thread problem might be easier to solve. Check if you have two contacts with the same number i.e duplicate contacts. If not that check if you have the number stored twice in the same contact. This might sometimes "confuse" the phone and lead to the above said problem. It happened to me when my google contacts got sync with my phone, I ended up having many duplicate contacts.

This is a bug in the latest Legend update [2.05]. The Desire is a different phone. The latest update it received was the Froyo update. The Legend is yet to get that update. And hopefully the update might fix the bug.
@ananthm2k5 thanks a lot, but the thing is that it is not even recognizing the number.... so the received messages get stored in a thread under +9613****** so it's probably not a problem of duplicate numbers or contacts.
I had a Telus HTC Hero before the Legend, and it didn't have this problem.
Is there an application I should install that could fix this problem, or would I have to debrand my Legend? And would debranding even fix the problem?
Thank you.
Generally when you have duplicate contacts the phone displays only the number .. but since you say you don't gave duplicate contacts ... I guess you could just back up and reset your phone to factory settings ...
Also ask the contact to call you ... see if it shows the proper contact or just a number ...
Installing other apps or debranding will not help ... you could try alternate messaging applications ... there are a quite a few .. look around the forums ... but I'm not sure about how good they are ... the default is good enough for me
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
Alternate messaging options don't fix the problem...
The weird thing is, that when they call me, it displays the correct phone number, and doesn't even show the +961 extension...
I haven't tried a factory reset, but I did try deleting all the messages... I'll try one asap... I just don't feel like restoring all the apps and contacts etc.... Do you know any good backup app that doesn't require root?

The Legend does a back up on its own ... its somewhere in privacy setting or something .. look for it ... and while doing a factory reset remove your SD card. ...
I just sold my legend and bought a Desire!
And im loving it!
That's what u all should
Alright, I have debranded my phone, and installed the official Europe HTC Legend RUU 1.31, but the problem is still there.
Also, meanwhile, I have contacted HTC Support, and here's their last reply:
Dear Marc,
I am afraid changing numbers manually is the only option I can offer you. According to your serial number, your phone is locked to Vodafone and has been purchased in Germany, which means it is not coded to recognise numbers from Lebanon. Your old Hero might be SIM free, that is why he can recognise the numbers. We do not provide unbranding services, as branded phones are property of respective service providers. As to 2.2 update, we don’t currently have the date of when it will be released to other devices.
To send a reply to this message or let me know I have successfully answered your question log in to our ContactUs site using your email address and your ticket number 10GBCW34ENA000771.
Sincerely,
Viktor

However, my phone was not really locked to Vodafone Germany, since I could use my Lebanese SIM Card. I can use the phone, messages and mobile data. I also know that SIM Lock is not allowed in Germany. Shall I try to re-unlock it? Is there a way to know if my phone is somewhat locked or not??
My HTC Hero was locked to Telus, but I have gotten it unlocked by a third-party.
@Lola90, if you can find me a good deal, then why not?
what should i do?
Nobody has a solution to my problem?
Any recommendations? Rooting, custom ROM, anything?
factory reset did not work for you ?
No, it didn't work...
Any suggestion on what to do? Shall I try to re-unlock the phone, shall I install a custom ROM, or an Official North American, or Middle Eastern ROM, or is there an application that I can install?
