Sorry to bother you with this but I would be interested in the major differences between those phones. Also regarding the new iphone 4G release in June maybe anyone here knows already some details ?
For such a generic question use google. Diamonds are similar and iphone is completely different. The main difference might be that iphone is not a business phone and has many fancy toy apps. Also Apple products are ment for handicaps and people with disabilities like only one finger
iphone 4G? where did u get that name from?
Lol, the new iPhone won't be "4G", Att doesn't support it yet!

whatever "fruity" product sux...
Having possessed both, I have dumped the iphone and stick with my TD2 and Windows Mobile for the follwing reasons:-
1) This forum (and similar forums) populated by (mostly) intelligent people who hold intelligent discussions (most iphone forums I have looked at consist of comments like "I sooo dropped my iphone in the swimming pool at school and then I sooo ran over it with my dads SUV and apple won't give me a free replacement under apple care which soooo sux"
etc.
2) Customisability - I run a custom ROM with WM6.5 and Manilla Sense UI - ROMs are easy to change (with a modicom of intelligence) and there are many available - I never get bored with the look and feel of my TD2. I didn't feel confident about "jailbreaking" my iphone - there was always the risk that some forced apple update would brick it.
3) Security - no fake exchange certificates on a WM phone (unlike iphone).
4) Love the industrial design of the TD2 - a classic IMHO
Having said all of that, iphone was better at music and games, but then, I only ever play teeter and I can easily live with the slghtly poorer music experience on the TD2
Bottom line, if you are at high school, want to be like your friends as opposed to be yourself and like to blast out green day or whatever through tinny little speakers, then get an iphone, alternatively, get a life get a TD2!

Regarding the above poster's comment on "being yourself": http://xkcd.com/610/
You can take that as the Despair Inc. "You are unique. Just like everyone else." or the Fight Club "You are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world."
The iPhone is a vendor-locked entertainment device with communication and business features.
The Touch Diamond / 2 is a customisable business and communication device with entertainment features.
It all depends on which you class as most important. Personally, I have a Sanza Fuze, so don't need a phone which plays MP3s.

what he means is go for iphone if you want a phone that works
or go for htc if you want to be constantly restarting your device, having to get fixes all the time, and inevitably throwing your phone out the window because it's laggy, bug ridden and slow.
What iPhone does best it does a lot better than any winmo, and vise versa. To each his own, and it doesn't mean that iPhone is for kids and winmo is for grownups.
Basically owning an apple product says two things about you.
1) You've got so much money you don't know what to do with it.
2) You're either not very IT literate and you buy whatever you see advertised on TV because you don't know any better or you're just too lazy to compare specs and as a result have bought something with half the functionality for twice the price.

A friend of mine has an iPhone. It's worse
As all of you, I've been with pocket pc since my hp 1945. Back then ppc was the most advance mobile os out there. I dreamed of a time they would converge this device with a phone to make the worlds greatest all in one. Then it came , the device that started my addiction with windows mobile phone, the imate jAm. From then on it was an exciting journey as I bought new phones when they cAme out. Each one better than the last and more stable. This journey climaxed when I bought my best pocket pc phone ever.. The htc advAntage. I loved that thing. Huge screen graphic processor, fast CPU , 8 gb HD . But alas my advantage was dropped one too mAny times so it was sold. Not wNting to get the same phone twice I purchased the AT&T tilt, then the xperia. Now for the point of my post. Since the begining to about when the first iPhone 3g came out I'd sAy ppc was very much better than the rest. Now after playing with the 3gs iPhone I can see with this device ppc is now in the dust. It does most things our ppc can do , but most of all more and more developers r writing awesome apps for this device. And because it's made by one company and also very popular there are tons of accessories for it. I mean there were times like with my advantage that I couldn't even get a proper case for it. As for os iPhone is wAaY more stAble, windowS is taking too long. They started this race but R finishing up last with their shotty work and programming. I meaN the only reSon I buy htc products is becUse of this awesome site. That's pretty sad when ur only selling point is a site that has no affilation with u but make ur buggy product useable. So with this post I sAy farewell ppc thank you all the chiefs that made All those custome Roms I've used over the past ten years. I've jumped ship and have bought a 3gs.
Ps xperia was the straw that broke the camels back. Worst ppc phone ever. From case problem to shotty os
Bye.

hahaha yeah. to iphone so go. bye, you wont be missed.
You could summarise the OP into one sentence.
"The iPhone has a swish GUI and is better supported for apps than the Xperia, so I'm getting one."
My response would be,
"I prefer my device to have a keyboard, and while the Xperia isn't perfect, it has a spreadsheet app out of the box... for free."
It is not our fault that you cannot configure your device properly. Feel free to buy a featurephone like the iPhail. It is simple, not functional and has crappy hardware and software.
WinMo is for tech savvy people who understand modern tech. iCrap is for the ones who want everything configured and controlled for them. The latter will fall behind modern society, because of lack of understanding how things work.
Read this and pay special attention to the links haha:

Let's not be Haters
If someone wants to leave WinMo let them go. Maybe when they try iPhone OS they'll realize what they are missing. Perhaps, though, they would be happier with it.
Just because WinMo might be best for us doesn't mean it's best for everyone.
I do have to say, though, that I am confused by the now several threads in the Xperia forum saying that they are leaving for the iPhone. I never saw any in the Kaiser or in the Dev or Q&A forums. I am beginning to think that many of these are simply viral marketing.
EDIT: Perhaps not viral marketing, just users that don't understand customizing/flashing very well. Reviewed some old posts by the originators of these threads.
Have fun with your iPhone 3GS - seriously No bad feelings here (why shouldn't there be any lol ).
However, I think you made 2 mistakes here. The first one, was getting an Xperia in the first place. If you now can live without the full qwerty keyboard, you should have gotten a Touch HD. Thats more of a competitor to the iPhone than the Xperia.
The second mistake: You switched when the WM platform finally has come to a point, where almost all new devices feature a WVGA screen, which means, that developers will have less problems to build apps AND WM 6.5 with its marketplace is standing right on the doorstep. The other thing here is, that Microsoft won't be that fussy when it comes to authorising apps to the marketplace.
I personally am not going to jump ship to the iPhone. I'm satisfied with the Xperia, but am really pissed with the problems of the WM ecosystem. No one stop shopping for apps. No music or app downloads straight to the phone (that Handango InHand app was crap!). And, come on guys, customizing a phone and voiding the warranty IS NOT A FEATURE!
I am not even interested in the X2. Hardware alone isn't going to convince me to buy a new phone. It has to have a great ecosystem and UI...period. I'm guessing X3 with WM7 would be my next phone, but if it's crap, then I'm jumping ship to something better (even iPhone 4). My next phone is going to have a really well-designed and clever OS on top of superior hardware. Features should not be half-assed but properly integrated into the whole phone. Good example is Copy and Paste. Many complaints the iPhone didn't have it, but now it's got it and it is very well implemented. Apple didn't just throw some bull**** into their phone to make the feature list longer. My next mobile OS will have to be designed with that same mentality and attention to user-experience.
I'll stick with my X1 for another generation, but next generation, the company with the best designed OS and ecosystem will get my business.
Besides the question if the iPhone is the better phone (Everyone has to decide for themselves, for me, the iPhone is definetely lacking some things) i really have to say that somehow i get the impression, that WinMO got stuck.
A few years back, it was the ultimate OS for powerful PPC and later PPCPhones, but that was because it was the only real one. Microsoft just sat back and sold and sold without improving. I mean even the devices 5 years back already had 400 MhZ and were as fast as todays devices and if you take a look at Windows Mobile 2003 SE and Windows Mobile 6.1 you can't see significant changes at first glance. I've had many WinMo Phones throughout the years and i will stick with it for now, because I love Windwos Mobile and all the functionality that comes along with it and appart from a keyboard i am still missing some other things with other phones like the iPhone, but i guess, if Microsoft does not realize that the Phone OS Market is now an open and very competitive one and does not improve their OS within the next year (Speed is a great factor, other OS are way faster) more and more people will come to the point where WinMo is no longer the OS of choice. As for myself, more and more things that "disgusted" me with the first iphone, get lost more and more, as apple improves the whole package. Alright, an iPhone with Keyboard is way off for now, but who knows
Just my two cents =)
If they released an iPhone with a keyboard, it would be game over for the rest of the smartphone industry. Not that I'm an Apple or iPhone fan, but more likely than not, they would completely dominate the smartphone market with a keyboard device and a touch-only device.
The X1 is good, but apps pale in comparison aesthetics wise
I think the X1 is really good, it's the best WinMo device i've ever had. There is no real comparable device out there regarding the Hardware.
But right now it looks like this is the climax of Windows Mobile and if this stays like that till the next time i have to get a new device i will be looking seriously into other Phones, because my love to WinMo is not unconditionally, they really need to do something

Word! **** the iPhone.
WinMo and X1 is good enough that I'll wait for WM7 to give it a chance (and I'll put the OFFICIAL WM6.5 on my X1). But after that, I'll have to jump ship to a/the keyboard iPhone or something else if Microsoft and SE doesn't get it's s**t together by next generation of phones (The X3).
I have to agree. I updated my X1 using the SE update service to R3A and now get regular crashes. I'm trying to find away to roll back but not having any luck. As mentioned before, cooking your ROM is all well and good to improve your phone, but it voids your warranty and shouldn't be needed. Lazysoft should start investing some of their vast mountain of money into programmers who can produce a stable, fast and easily customizable OS. As Apple slowly realise their mistakes with the iPhone and introduce firmware upgrades to compensate WM is going nowhere and offering nothing new or improved. As soon as iPhone is capable of everything other phones are, it's game over for WM.

I had an iFail for a month (back in the 2G when you could jailbreak without contract)
I am happy I don't have it any more
Crappy keyboard, with only qwerty, no 3rd party keyboard support, apps were alright, nothing incredible, no real bluetooth (A2DP, tethering etc) and no hardware keyboard, hardware was mediocre at best and the camera sucked
Took them 2 years to sort out some of those issues, hardware/camera still suck and the apps.....lets just say I wouldn't take a lot of them if you paid me, not to mention being forced to use iTuneDeaf, I'll stick to my media players that support OGG thanks.
I am quite impressed with the iPhone 3GS, I do not understand how they can make the MP3 player so remarkably fast compared to any windows mobile mp3 program + phone. I know capacitive screen takes away the need to apply pressure but the iPhone OS looks as if it takes alot of processing power and yet 600 Megahertz is almost the same as 528 and yet iphone is blazing fast.
The same also applies to the Ipod Touch which has a 400 mhz processor.
I am just so discontented that the iPhone os is not good for automated apps and modification apps. If it had those features + a true file system than I would consider.
This is the reason why all iphones and ipod touch have mostly games and games and games, because it can only support certain types of foreground apps (since the Mac OS isn't designed for background apps)
I pity all the iDiots......

Hm, the above looks a lot like a "fanboy" post....
People compare phones all the time, and like it or not, the iPhone is a benchmark device for many.
For me, some aspects of the iPhone are better than the Galaxy S, some are worse.
Overall, I think I'll stick with the Galaxy S, since I love the screen and believe that Android is getting better. But, currently, the iPhone does provide an overall smoother, more polished user experience, and definitely better battery life, IMO.
Being objective does not mean one is a fanboy. Posting threads like this on the other hand....
screen wise i'll take AMOLED over the iphone iris whatever screen.
lag... well only affects the non tekki people, but even if i was technologically challenged, i'd not mind rebooting the phone.
heck all the previous phone i've had, it was normal thing to have to reboot them several times a day, specially windows mobiles ones, and all the memory leaks.
on PalmOS it was only when a specific software hungs
I don't care one bit.
I bought this phone for a reason, it stands up to what i wanted from it, and more.
Even if the army of apple fanboys tries to take people "off" buying this phone, i don't know if you follow the news, but it sells MASSES. Crossed over 1 mil units since launch, and that's even before U.S carriers launcehd it.
Plus it's supposed to arrive in 110 contries total, while now it only sells in 13 or so.
So let the apple fanboys say and do what they want, i don't feel any obligation to "fight" them.
Anyone who will get interested and see it's a good device- will take it, regardless of what iZombies say.
lol macboy shutup, i cant be a fanboy you silly ass, ive never owned a samsung
my point is the guy who wrote an essay about how bad he thinks the SGS is and why he is returning it, has got nearly 2000 views on that thread. will put people off and we want more owners for better support.
thanks
OP, do you consider me one of the iPhone fanboys making SGS look bad too?
BTW, which threads are you looking at that make you feel so persecuted?
You're free to write an essay about why you won't buy an iPhone too... I doubt it'll get very popular though, as there are thousands of those out there already.
it really comes down to "to each their own" choice to get a phone they "believe" is working the way they "think" it is working "properly" for them.
there is no such thing as a perfect phone, else there would be no need for XDA forums LOL
Phone comparisons are done all the time. people come to forums like this one, some to voice their point of view, some just want confirmation, but most just want comfort after purchase.
Each to their own seemed to be the best way. If you go to iphone forums, you will see iphone bashing posts no worst for wear than any other groups.

All serious phone-blogs, that compared the iPhone 4 with the SGS
come to the conclusion, that the SGS is the better choise.
And for all the fanboys out there: the SGS does not drop a call
when you touch the bottom of the phone with your left hand!
You should go to a poor reception area and do a death grip on your SGS. This problem does affect SGS. I've tried it.

Bull, I tried and and at worst I lose a bar for a second or two.
I always laugh at people who think a phone is worth arguing over.
You pays your money, and takes your choices. There are some people to whom I would never recommend a Galaxy S TBH, and as an ex iphone owner, I still think the iphone is a great phone, but in the end, I was attracted to the google OS and the limitless customisation possibilities. I wanted this, but I also wanted a screen that could rival the iphone 4, and really only the Galaxy S in the UK can do that.
Frankly though, as a phone for the every day person, the iphone is so utterly superior - I wouldn't give my dad a Galaxy S, but I would give him an iphone. I dont think he could be bothered to flash firmwares manually or do NAND fixes or ROM upgrades. He just wants it to work straight away. However, its this "basicness" that put me off the iphone in the end. With some work, in my view, you can end up with a phone OS with Android that far surpasses any iphone in terms of sheer power and flexibility.
Each to their own though.

And a single official firmware upgrade rumored to come next week can change all that. It's way too soon to draw conclusions like that.
Best advice right now for "the everyday person" is to keep their money in their pocket for a little while longer since neither phones are working like they should.

I just cried laughing
And I realized why most people find it hard to use smartphones other than the iPhone. It is not based around the concept of 'iPhone is naturally easier because it just WORKS' but more along the lines of people have this notion that smartphones SHOULD behave/look like the iPhone.
For instance, when I showed my friend my Evo he looked at the screen and said "Where are the apps?" I said I only keep a few on the main screen that I use frequently such as SMS/Phone/Voicemail/Dropbox etc but the rest are in the app drawer. He said "Yeah... but that's gay they should all be on the screens" after switching from screen to screen only to find a few apps here and there I realized that people are accustomed to the clutter and confusion of iOS rather than the simplicity and organization of Android. It really seems counter intuitive to me. While the iPhone is a ****ing AMAZING phone (whoever says otherwise is a fanboy) it definitely loses in some areas to Android but people base their standards off the iOS which is a clear bias. I never knew how much of a grasp Apple has on the smartphone industry until this event. Coming from a Blackberry and having owned an iPod I found the transitions to be seamless but I also worked at IT for a long duration.
The conclusion I reached was that the notion of Android is harder to use because you need to be a geek to understand it is also false. Android is not more difficult to use, it is just different in itself. Turning on wifi on an iPhone is the same process. Downloading an APP is the same as well. Making phone calls and sending texts are identical. Hopefully we can see a growth in smartphone technologies that embrace the BEST possible user experience which I believe goes to Android for their sheer volume of phones as well as operating system capabilities.
Sounds like your describing that evo vs. iphone video on youtube and your friend is the character repeating "I don't care".
Are you happy with your device? Does it do what you want the way you want?
You are all that matters....
good day.
Kinda... but its not utter stupidity - more ignorance. What I am trying to say is that the iPhone has been the epitome of what a touchscreen smartphone SHOULD look and behave like.
I enjoy Android but I honestly got the Evo because of Sprints plan coupled in with unlimited bandwidth was a great money saving choice for a smart phone. Also, the fact that I can roam on Verizon meant I could get signal where an iPhone could not.
Honestly though, if I could get an iPhone on Sprints network with unlimited data + tethering as I do now for under $80 I would jump on that offer. Really love that phone and the game development is skyrocketing. I do enjoy the Evo, however. Cant complain about its amazing screen size and custom roms I can put in. Also the free tethering is nice
I guess your conclusion also explains why in every smartphone review, the iPhone is mentioned several times also.
Yup. Now if only we could get that phone out of the ATT deathgrip.

So you do want the iphone...
I'm not surprised that the iphone is the standard - there are a lot more of them than any other smartphone. And they're very nice phones.
That said, I much prefer my evo. Even if the iphone became available outside AT&T, I'm sticking with android. While the iphone has more games (and fart apps), android allows more customization. I'm also not limited to a single controlled app market. Finally, my aging eyes love the large screen.
My girlfriend has a mytouch slide and after having the phone for a week I was showing her how to use it and she didn't even realize there was a menu button. You miss out on an awful lot without using that button lol.

Pretty sure the BB curve still holds the crown.
That said, I am moving my mom from her BB curve to an EVO in December. I'll do the same with the EVO that I did with the curve. I will set it up so everything she wants is on the home screens. I'll give it a nice, clean look and make sure the fonts are right, etc.
She wants it for the big screen, not because it is fast, customizable, or anything else.

I prefer: Common sense is not that common.
I agree with the OP 100%. People are creatures of habit and don't realize that in the same way a PC differs from a MAC, an Android phone will differ from iOS based phone. I think that people will buy anything that has a lower case "i" in front of it just because Apple found a niche in the way they advertise. I don't have a problem with their products. My beef with them is based on their communist approach to business and the fact that they don't care about their customers.
Personally, I have never nor will I ever buy anything Apple. It has nothing to do with being an Android fan-boy so much as it is about being an Apple hater. lol Although I will say that my first experience with Android has left me wanting to kick myself for not switching over sooner.

I made the terrible mistake of buying my g/f an iPod nano about a year ago. I really should have known better but she really wanted it. I got her hooked on Android with her Hero last Dec and she is now enamored with her EVO. My current challenge is I'm trying to convince her to let me see if I can hit her iPod with a .50 cal round at about 400 yards.
I'd settle for using my AR at 200 yards but the .50 would be so much more gratifying

Bwahaha! My girl wanted an iPod for her birthday a few years back, and when she opened the box, there was a Zune in it. She looked at me as if I had just said something about her momma. After a week, she was loving it. She was able to remove that resource-hungry iTunes software from her computer (she had it on there because of an iPod Shuffle she previously was using but broke), and it made her computer faster, too.
If you ever take the .50 cal to the iPod, make sure you use the Evo to capture the event.

Yeah, I got it for her but with the caveat that it could only ever make a usb connection with HER COMPUTER.
I think I'll have to actually get her a raplacement before she'll give it up. I'm thinking either a Zune or a 16gb microsd card for her EVO.
Also, rest assured if I ever do get her iPod out to the range.. the event will be captured and shared
iPhone is a bit too easy and locked down for my tastes. I like being able to apply themes, change my Home app, etc. I think that alone makes Android look much better than iPhone. My iPhone friend who is an Apple fanboy agrees that the Android setup is much better and widgets are awesome.
Icons on icons is ugly to me. It's almost insulting.

Zune HD ftw. I have had a 16 gig since launch day. Sexy screen, light and portable, and best of all the battery life is ****ing outstanding. Also, the best music browsing/playability out of any device to date.
Yea, the Zune is pretty. Although to be honest, I would invest in a 32GB SD card for my Evo and use that instead of using two separate devices. While the UI of the Zune is pretty, I wouldn't spend the money on it when I have a phone I already carry with me all the time that can do the same thing.

Look dude, I'm not trying to start more shiz in another one of your threads.. I'm appalled by your behavior in your WTF WIFI?!?! thread, but that's another story. I'm asking you politely to check your language. You could have just as, if not more effectively covered your point without dropping an f-bomb.. Again, not trying to start shiz.
I have no experience with zune but everyone I know that has one LOVES it, and several of them have models that are OOOLLLDDD, so that says something to me about build quality. On the other hand, a big sdcard full of music would conveniently negate the need for another device to purchase and keep charged, but would likely mean I'd have to hook her up with another battery or two or an extended battery. Oh what a dilemma, now I have to research and purchase more technology

Okay fine lets agree to be police to so others don't have to deal with it.
I was thinking about getting an SD card for my Evo but the only crappy thing is I want to carry my music around in places that I don't want to take my phone like the gym. Not only are phones prohibited in some gyms, I couldn't bear to accidentally drop a weight on my phone or get too sweaty and short it out etc etc. Although I love my Zune and it cost me as much as my Evo did, it is not nearly the same device as far as capabilities.
Plus, another thing with the Evo is you don't really need an extra sd card. Just setup Dropbox accounts and you're good to go. I have all my music on dropbox and I just stream it perfectly.
Not to hijack, but I also have a dropbox account. How are you streaming music to your evo?

So when I first got the GSII I thought it was awesome! But 2 things quickly came to fruition.
1.The lightness was great at first but now its almost as a hassle for me, its TOO light, its like I cant even grab it properly like I did with my IP4, im constantly having trouble handling it and it just feels SO delicate! As if its gonna break if I do something wrong or drop it, its too thin for me, that's why Im having trouble holding it at times.
2.Android I have used before and very much enjoyed it but I dunno what happened to me that now its just too much stuff going on for me, with the IP4, it was simple and right to the point, in a way I appreciate all the extra little things that Android bring but I just dont care too much either, surprising cause im a techie. I dunno if its cause I am used to the IP for so long but it just seems like I have to go through more steps to do things that I would only have to do 1 or 2 on IOS. I always get this feeling of cluttered and an unorganized feel on Android while on IOS it just feels simple and straight to the point and organised. I tried WP7 at launch as well and I was super impressed by its UI, smoothness, how everything was so simple and easy to get to/use, frankly I just dont care about customizing and all that, I just want a quick fast and easy experience.
Now dont get me wrong a big problem I had with Android was how it would lag, freeze and sometimes feel like its in a beta stage, I was curious how the DualCore and 1gb ram would make a difference and wow! Im very impressed here! I havent had a single lag, its so smooth and just runs any and everything with absolute ease! This is how I wanted android to be!!
Another thing is the screen, I had 480x800 phones before as well as SuperAmoled and very much enjoyed them, so I was very excited to see the SuperAmoledPlus Display, too my surprise I wasn't that impressed tbh, the blacks are incredible, the contrast honestly seems good but not what I expected, the IP4 seems on par even brighter in some places, but the biggest thing for me is the pixels, since I had 480x800 before and thought it was great, I didn't think it was gonna be a huge difference but wow it is, the retnia display is MUCH better with text. Theres definitely a difference.
All in all Im not sure what to do now, I think I have a beast of a phone in my hands and it IS good but im not satisfied in certain aspects and it seems the months I spent with IOS really took a hold of me, I find myself trying to do little gestures I did in IOS. Theres the IP5 coming but who knows how much that will be and my contract is not up till next year. I cant find a good case for my life on the GS2 while IP4 has several.
Personally I think WP7 is awesome! But the lack of apps and certain things I need is really pushing me away from it. Im not gonna lie sometimes I get annoyed with Apples restrictions and hate itunes but beyond that I very much enjoy it.
Seriously, trade it in and get an iPhone 4. And if that sounds like I'm being trolly and trying to be funny then don't take it that way. I honestly believe that you've picked the wrong phone.
As popular as this phone is, it's obviously not for everyone.

No problem! I read your response and I think I may just wait for IP5, try to get a good sell on this one. I feel dumb, I really thought I was gonna like this one...
What do you think of WP7?
I agree with the post above. The SGS2 isn't the right device for everyone. IMO it's the best device on the market currently. That being said who cares what I think, it's what you think. If you want to get an iPhone I would hold off until Sept when the iPhone 5 is released.
I only skim read the first post but from the number of times I saw "IP4" I think you definately need to jump off the Android bandwagon.
I got this phone two days ago and it's one in a long line of Android phones, if I were to switch to an iphone and do the opposite to you, i'd find myself on modmyi.com moaning about how sucky and locked down apple phones are.
Point is, if you really don't like it, take it back if/while you still can.

I only had WP7 very briefly - on a HD2 that usually ran Android. I liked it, but was put off by how little I could do with it. It felt like going back 10 years to when you were pleased if you could even use your own .mid files as ringtones!
The first point about lightness / thinness can be solved with a £2 case from ebay. Job done.
Android phones can be pretty much set up to be very similar to iOS (only better) with a little patience. In fact android can mimick any other phone, or even be completely unique... can you do that with an iphone? No.
Yes the retina display is sharper for text, and when it boils down to it, the retina is probably the only rival display that can compete with the SAMOLED+ but I personally prefer the latter for its comparatively massive size, brilliant blacks and vibrancy. Horses for courses.
Ultimately I'd agree with the others though. Sounds like you bought the wrong phone. I felt the same way with the iphone 4 to be honest, and it was only when the SGS2 appeared that I knew I had a worthy replacement on my hands.
I want the Nokia WP7!

Definitely in the back of my mind...
Well if you like the ease of use of the iPhone, you should check out MIUI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130951
There's even an iPhone theme which makes it near identical in look and feel.
MIUI is really easy to use and simple to install. Just an idea.
Otherwise just get an iPhone 4 or 5.
Buying a case would definitely solve issue 1.
Like others have said, with some time and effort you could emulate the iphone look and usability.
Go with what's comfortable for you. Doesn't matter what anyone says.

I am actually torn between WP7 and Android
But I feel Icecream will be the deal breaker for android
currently am happy with my SGS2 having come from htc hero, but I also have an HTC HD7 wP7 and I love what Micorosoft has done with MANGO.
and Being a Nokia Fan I am definitely gonna for a Nokia WP7 next year
as I specifically took a 12 month contract on my SGS 2 and the SGS2 specs are good enough to last me atleast a couple of years If I do get itchy about android
Too light? WTF?
Don't like Android? Don't buy an Android phone!
Go back to iPhone, we don't need you here whining.

I second this statement.
I've had the phone for less than a week now and had the same impression, compared to my previous N1.
I just bought a plastic case, it's still light, but it definitely feels better now.
I agree 100% with the OP this is my first android and I was learning on the go. Its very cool device but for some people who just want simple interface they should go for IOS. I do electronics for living and have done a lot of programing in past years. I spent yesterday all day flashing this thing because all the sudden it stopped Sync and Social Hub wont work. It seriously stopped by it self very strange.
I asked all the experts on this website about how to fix it, so far my thread name "social hub Issues" has 100 views and 0 answers. What does that mean? either no one has answer or they think im retard.

lol - I doubt it's because people think you're a retard
It's more than likely just a rare issue, so not many people that visit this forum will be able to advise you. I'm sure you'll get some advice eventually.
