Making Block Recognizer as my default Input Mode

Anybody knows how to make Block Recognizer as my default Input Mode? Some of the applications make the Keyboard or Transcriber as the default input mode. Is there a way (e.g., registry entry) that I can override this input mode default? I don't usually use keyboard, letter recognizer or transcriber as my input means. I'm more at ease with the Block Recognizer. Help please
Try this...
Using a registry editor, search within HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID for key IsSIPInputMethod. Then, for each one found look at the parent CLSID and you should see a string value (Default) set to the name of the input method (e.g Keyboard, Letter Recogniser, etc.) Once you find the CLSID entry for the input you want, make a note of it - in your case the Block Recognizer. Then find registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip and edit the string value DefaultIm to have the CLSID you for Block Recognizer.
Thanks dcs! , your instruction works...My registry editor acted weird...I wasn't able to do a search on key, value or data...I had to do the searching manually...good thing u gave a good and clear instruction. My registry editor is RedEditCe v1.2
I'll try to change registry editor utility

That's good
PHM do a free reg editor, I use the one bundled with Resco File Explorer - it is very good.
Aight, I'll try to look for it...Many thanks again!

you are not the first one to say that I can't see it myself lol.
dcs,
found the string to be edited but it just allows me to delete "9667" on the string and wont allow me to key in a new value e.g.9690 for letter recognizer.
please help
thanks

SmartDialing registry

As most of you know once you change the dialpad skin the smartdialing features will be disabled.....unless you use Eten+SmartDialer.
There's a String Value in
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\MASD\
Name:SmartDialing
String:2_2_22954_Disable
I wonder if I change this (although I don't know how) - will it be able to activate smart dialing again?

Reg hack for Letter Recognizer?

Hi,
I need a reg hack to make the letter recogniser recommend more words without needing to install Easytweak or anything else. Id also like to know the tweak to set the default SIP.
reg hack is just too complicated for me (forgive me if i m too lazy to learn)..i install tweaks2k2.net to do this....

PHM Registry editor Back Button

Hi
Probably a silly question but what is the back button on HTC Touch Diamond used by PHM registry editor ?

Auto word suggestion

My elfin auto suggest words when using keyboard on a black horzontal line above the keyboard. How can I switch to the original WM vertical list method? Is there a reg key to change?
Thanks!
I think thats build into your SIP.
Which means you cant change it, you can try googling it though.
I'd really like to get rid of that black bar as well.
Is there some way you can change the SIP?
A solution
Ok I found out how to do it and it just requires a couple of small registry changes.
Change the following entries under registry key: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts
Ime File: compime.dll (compime.dll was in my Windows directory so I didn't need to copy it)
Layout Text: COMP IME
Soft reset and the old autocomplete that we all know and love is back, e.g. a small box with all the suggestions.

May not be as the keyboard is the standard WM keyboard, not the HTC one. Additionally, for some time, I managed to make the black bar go away and revert to the drop down list. But recently, I did a deep registry celarning using memmaid and somehow something was changed and it caused the blacj bar to appear again...
Wondering where in the Registry should I look for this....

I see entries under the Layouts: (Which one to change for normal Windows Mobile Keyboard?)
00000409
Layout File kbdNopAll.dll
Layout Text US
PS2_AT kbdNopAll.dll
e0010409
Ime File \windows\eT9ime.dll
Keyboard Layout 00000409
Layout Text eT9 IME
e0010804
Ime File xime.dll
Keyboard Layout 00000409
Layout Text Mobem IME
Which one should I change? Or do I creat a new entry? Thanks for your help!

Found put that I should change e0010409 from eT9ime.dll to compime. Problem is that I can;t find this file on my elf.... continuing to look
