Hi there,
I'm for a few days trying to get Linux on my HTC Magician (64 MB version) but the only I get is a white screen after haret.exe is booted up and tried to boot up the kernel.
I've tried to but Linux with the official WM2003 (T-Mobile branded) firmware but also using the unofficial WM6.1 by Cotulla.
Ive tried all the images of http://linuxtogo.org/~htcpxa/htcmagician/ using loadlin.exe but im always getting a white screen.
So any suggestions to get it booting ?
I've managed to get it booting now!
I've been using the zImage 2.6.21hh20-r13 kernel image + haret 0.5.2 and the Angstrom-openmoko-devel-image-glibc-ipk-2008.1-test-20071028. Ive managed to get the kernel booting, i see a load screen with a picture of Angstrom on it, but after that, the only i get to see on the screen is :
Code:
[ 50.900000] Samsung LCD Power off
[ 50.960000] tgpio clear: reg 0 = 0x0060
Any ideas to get a working GUI ?

Flashed rom with BuildOS software at PPCGeeks.
Worked fine on my last phone (got smashed, this is a new one).
As I was rebooting after installation with zero errors, it got stuck on the Boot screen (now the HTC Apache 6700 screen written in graffiti letters).
Hard-Resetting? does the same thing - stuck on the boot screen.
2 Questions,
A) Take it back to verizon and make it to be a bug?
B) Any way to flash the thing to the original Verizon (and start all over?)
Keep in mind that I CANNOT sync with my computer because it is stuck in the loading screen. (I keep getting the Error:101 No Connection message in BuildOS too)
The files in the ROM were messed up. Go here for help.

Hi - I've been searching this forum over and over, but couldn't find solution.
So - I was trying to install new rom using ShellTool and faiiled. Now it only shows boot screen with ipl/spl. I had intalled new rom before and it worked fine.
Also, then I have tried this http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=332143 (installing mmty rom, shows that installing is sucessful) but still hangs on blue screen.
Anyone could help please?
Just updated my nike to 6.5 using the latest build from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=500021
Had a few problems with the touch screen not responding and buttons not working so decided to downgrade to build 23001.
Problem is whenever I run customRUU, the phone changes into SPL mode (rainbow screen) and the software throws an ERROR [260] : CONNECTION.
Anyone got any advice? My phone is basically unusable in its present state
Cheers,
Steve
I've now managed to get it to the initial stage of the upgrade but it hangs at 0% and after a minute or so throws an ERROR[262] : UPDATE ERROR
Managed to finally get the start menu to open by first running media player. I was then able to run sspl from total commander using the 'open' command from the context menu. Single clicks in file explorer had stopped working altogether.
Once sspl was running I re-started customRUU and the install worked.
To anyone else thinking about using the latest build of this rom on their nike. Don't bother! 23001 appears to be much more stable.

Hi folks.
I've just tried to flash my HD2 to Gingerbread from WinMobile 6.5 using the following instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 (It's in HTC Leo: HD2HD2 AndroidHD2 Android NAND Development[3.May.11][MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][Kernel:tytung_r10])
The HSPL installation went fine, however, when used the ROMUpdateUtility.exe, I've been left with a phone that won't boot past the O2 Welcome screen?
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing/done wrong? I've now got a phone that's useless No amount of resetting, rebooting or hard resets will change it.
Cheers!
Further update
Where it tells me to boot the phone whilst holding the power key down, it doesn't appear to do anything. If I do a cold boot, the phone just will not boot (but then it didn't under Windows) and if I hold it down & do a soft reset, just still goes to the O2 Welcome screen. I can put it into the ROM update Utility again & attempt to reflash the ROM (which now shows no Version number) and I get the screen that tells me The ROM Update is complete, although it takes only about a minute, as opposed to the 10 it should take!
FYI, the Phone ROM Update Utility is version 3.27.4.3, if this helps?
Ta!
