Run exe file at startup - HD2 General

I'm a little bit confused, since this is my first time with Windows Mobile 6.5.
How can i start an executable file during/after windows mobile startup, since there's no "\windows\startup" directory as Windows Mobile 5!!
Is there any reg key I need to modify??
Thanks!!

Ok, Sh*t, it was so simple!
Italian ROM, so "Esecuzione Automatica" was the right directory!

how to get application from Windows Mobile 5.0's ROM

is there someone how to get application from Windows Mobile 5.0's ROM ,such as battery monitor.
Hi
did you already read about grab_it and dumprom? The first will make a dump of the rom and the second tool will extract all files from the dump.
What will you do with the file?
If you like to disable a rom executable, just copy another executable on top of it (use the same name). The rom file is then behind and will not be launched. So you can disable, for example, ActiveSync comming up, if you write a small exe and place it as repllog.exe in the windows dir.

isn't enough just expanding you winmob device in vista's explorer?
i expanded everything and i still dont see the windows folder, however i see it on my xp, when i connect it to my desktop
My guess is something like a "do not show hidden or system files" or something like that in your windows explorer options.
Yes i have the same issue. The issue isnt that the folder is "Missig" but it is hidden when browsing through windows. You should get resco's file explorer or similar explorer and try editing the properties of windows folder "unhide"...
but the easier way to copy stuff to windows folder is to just Create a junk folder on your storage card and copy your files into that folder..Then using the Resco's File Manager or similar, copy those files into the windows folder.
While u are at that screen making invisible files visible....make sure to uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" as well. voila there is ur windows folder..

Can we overwrite files in windows dir for WM 6.1

Hi,
I am trying to delete/overwrite some wave files under windows dir. I am running "Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional"
plz let me know if there is a way to do this?
Thanks,
It depends on what files you are trying to delete and why. It has nothing to do with the OS.
if they are ROM files, its harder/you might screw up your phone...
your best bet though is by using resco file explorer.

How to install Zipped EXE files?

hi guys..
seems like a n00b question..i know
but i downloaded some cool apps from handango which are made for Xperia..but i was unable to install them.
do i need to use Activesync for such files?...and if yes..i also tried to install activesync 4.5 but it says 'not for Vista'
any tips?
exe files can be
1. pda exe's which is not install files but the program itself
which you yourself have to copy to where ever you want it
and make a shortcut in programs yourself
2. windows exe's which use activesync on xp and Windows Mobile Device Center on vista
to copy the cabs to the pda and auto install them
in many cases those exe files are self-extracting zip files and one can just rename them zip and copy out the cab files one needs typically the arm one
thanks..i installed Windows Mobile Device center on my vista..connected X1 via USB and done!

Original Windows Mobile Games?

Does anyone happen to have the original games from Windows Mobile 6.1 and Windows Mobile 6.5 in CAB format?
By this I mean, Solitare, Bubblebreaker etc.
Thanks.
Try this one, I just took the exe files from a windows mobile 6.1 rom
Thanks, but would rather an installer CAB if possible? Thanks.

The games are just an .exe which is put in \Windows. Just use Active Sync to move the .exe's to the internal memory and then TotalCommander to move them to \Windows.
The Cab file is done.
It just place the two games in \windows
and create 2 shortcuts in start -> Program -> Game -> Solitare / BubbleBreaker
Thank you.
