HTC HD2 ROM backup - HD2 General

Hi,
How can I backup my HTC HD2 ROM?
Thanks

I guess you mean backup apps and settings? If so you need software such as sprite backup or spb backup both of which work very well.
PIM backup can also be used.

not only to my apps and settings; what I'm trying to do is to install another rom but I also want to be able to re-install my original rom back

You need hard-spl for that and right now it is not possible to flash the HD2 with any other rom.

RE:
SPB Backup
Save Your Data
SPB Backup is an application for creating backup copies of the data on your Pocket PC. It creates self-extracting compressed executables, thus making the backup and restore processes very simple and intuitive. Backup scheduling supported.

i will be getting my HD2 today or tomorrow! i presume you mean back up of the entire rom including radio + spl! assuming Pdocread and other utils work i will be attempting a back up of the O2 rom! the diffifult bit will be the splash screen image.
i have previously successfully reconstructed a backed up rom for the diamond so lets hope the leo rom works in the same manner!
i will post my findings when i get round to doing it

C'mon read the rules guys, this forum says ROM development, no posting here for anything else....

how to flash htc hd2 rom?
want to buy the hd2 but in israel there is a special rom that was translated to hebrew , but i want an english rom- not "cooked" rom but htc original english rom- where do i get the htc original rom.
and how to flash the hd2 (i am new to rom flashing)- and before i flash is it possible to back up the rom that's currently running on the device? is it possible to download it from the device to my pc in case i want to reinstall it?

Does SBP backup restore data on a new ROM? I read somewhere that if u back up a ROM's data and falsh a new rom, it wont restore. Is this true?

full backup ROM
I have same problem. I need backup my original ROM. Exist some tool for this? I could not find. :-( This backup is in my opinion necessary(good to have) to warranty claim a device.
(I have some version of ROM 1.48.479.1 for Czech.)
Thank you

I have posted the same question for Hermes but it seems that cook chefs are too busy or do not want to give instructions...

ROM Upgrade for HTC HD2 - WWE:1.66.405.2
Hi
Thanks on the info above. Whilst updating your current rom to new WWE:1.66.405.2 version, then restoring your full backup using SPB backup restore mode, does it also keep the new rom upgrade you did? Or does it go back to your previous rom, which you had backed up before?
Many Thanks

there is no need to downgrade to wm5,wm6 is better,and is stable,it just depends on rom you flashed
so try flashing another wm6/wm6.1 rom or try to hard reset

but if you really want, here is how to downgrade: go to htc.com,download the shipped wm5 rom for artemis and flash it without using uspl,just run the upgrade....but i'm only 90% sure,so wait a bit till someone aprooves the method
if you're a noob you don't have to be an idiot
Maybe you've installed a cooked ROM that isn't as stable as you expected.
You can always install the official WM6 WWE (English) ROM, this is exactly what I did and I find it extremely stable. So...
1. Read the first thread in this forum and use the Artemis USPL tool.
2. Download and install the ROM from this link: http://rapidshare.com/files/60087606/HTC_P3300_WWE_3.13.405.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship_R.exe
3. You can upgrade the radio ROM to the latest one (you must use the USPL tool once again). Download it from: http://www.fs2you.com/en/files/660aee8c-2eff-11dd-99ec-0014221f4662/
After this, you should be OK.
Good luck
thank you so much!!!! i don't have time right now, but i will try to flash the rom again. i ha ve already done soft and hard reset. the result... the same. thanks again!!!

And now there´s a hard choice - shall I stick to your 6.5.x, or try this one
Why do you not allowed to download ? Do only for private users download it ?

monx, man, yet one great ROM, thanks. but can't to understand how to enable that new iconset. supposed it's that is diNik's, but your cab from 6.5.5 thread doesn't work. help, please.
hi dim,
is it completely not working or just partially not working with manila?
pls delete \Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher folder, install the dinik's cab from wm655 thread n soft reset. pls let me know if it still not working n i will check again when i get back home.
lockscreen conflict vs. manila
Monx,
Great ROM. Thanks.
Just one comment: I had some issues with the lockscreen conflicting with manila (i.e. Manila overriding the lockscreen so that manila is visible and active but that the lockscreen is still on and blocking everything else). I remember similar behaviour on my Raphael with certain builds of 6.5.
I didn't have this problem with your 6.5.5 ROMs. But I did just also install CoOkie's home tab. Does this conflict with your lockscreen customization? or is it ROM build related?

Best Backup Solution?

First off, great work by everybody on all these roms. The Hero has become a much better phone because of this community. My problem is that I've become addicted to flashing all the new roms and hate restoring everything from scratch. I've tried Titanium Backup but I don't know what settings to use that will get me the best restoration when I set up a new rom. Also, I may be incorrect, but it seems like apps restored from TB will not update in the market. What do you guys recommend?

You can purchase the full version of Titanium Backup to enable Market links to show in the Downloads section of the market. There is an option to donate and get the full version in the free app.
If you don't want to purchase the full version then you could use Apps2SD to keep all your apps in place and use 'SMS Backup & Restore' for free in the market to copy all your texts and restore them to the phone once you finish flashing a new ROM. It doesn't do MMS, but there might be other apps for that in the market that will.
Thanks for the input. Which option is the safest in TB? I bought the paid version and I'd like to do a backup but don't want to mess anything up.
id say the best backup for the entire system including apps is nandroid + ext backup using recovery.
You may be interested to know that I'm building this in to fresh kitchen. Currently you can backup all of your applications, and then also your texts, dictionary, and scenes.
The next release will also do contacts, browser settings, and just a slew of general phone options.
It all gets stored on your computer and can easily be pushed back to your phone after a restore.

sounds like a great feature Flipz. Using these features in your kitchen is the only reason i am still looking forward to the official rom release.
Flipz kitchen looks like the better solution. didn't know all those features were built into it. too bad I'm on a MAC, otherwise I would be using that.

[Q] ROM Cooking For HP iPAQ Hx2

Hello,
I have an HP iPAQ Hx2 using the v2 of the Spiaatie WM6.5 ROM, but now I want to start cooking some ROMs to understand better about the Windows Mobile kernel, because at the time I just know it's API very well(as a developer). Then I want to know two things:
Where I can get the best kitchen to cook ROMs for it?
Where I can get the WM6.5 ROM file to customize?
Best Regards,
Nathan Paulino Campos
You can use kitchen from [here]
Thanks very much! Keep up he great work with your ROM!
Also, now I have some questions
How could I add more programs to the ROM(I have their CABs)?
How can I change the boot screen?
What I need to change the background?
What is the kitchen that you use Spiaatie? Can you share it?
Hello,
I'm trying to flash my own ROM to my HP iPAQ, using the tools that came with my kitchen, but when it starts to flash, I got this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And at the EBoot screen, instead of the label US on the bottom right corner, it says: DIGITAL SIGN MISMATCH
What I should do?
Best Regards,
Nathan Paulino Campos
I guess you need a CustomRuu.exe not the original,at least we do this way for HTC.
But there is any custom RUU for iPAQs?
I really have no clue in how it work Ipaq anyway i Googled it and i found this thread, give it a look http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326214&page=2

1. To convert cab's to packages you can use this app [here]
2. You will need to add hTC Animation to kitchen.
3. Change classicblue_stwater_240_320.jpg, classicblue_stwater_320_240.jpg and images in Classic Blue.tsk (theme) file for example.
4. I use the same old style kitchen, as the new one does not work with iPAQ. I will not share my kitchen as I have spent many hours tuning it up and figuring things out. If you want to cook your own ROM - you will need to learn and use search a lot, same as I did years ago. And don't post unnecessary threads, if you have a question about ROM cooking for hx2000 series - post them all here.
5. You can't flash iPAQ from EBOOT mode - use PRE-BL mode and if it still does not work use RUU from my lastest ROMs.

just bought a HD2 and need help on updating the rom/ installing an android

i just bought an HTC HD2 yesterday
and i have no idea how to install a android and update a new rom
i have read the tut for noobs but i am not clear on what to do
i currently have a 1024 leo with 2.13.531.1 rom version
i want to update to the 3.14 rom version
can someone link me to a update version of it
i already download http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841644
that build but yet to install it because im not sure if i should update my rom 1st or use the current one i have.
please help me
let me know what other information i need to provide so that you guys can help me out.
thank you
Welcome. The stickies really contain everything that you need to know. Please take the time to re-read them again before continuing. Try the guide in my signature and see if that helps. That link is to an older build of Android that is not compatible with the original stock ROM.

sorry i am new here
can you let me know which android is compatible with the original stock
just in case if that not in the stickies
thank you.
It is indeed not in the stickies, and no, I can't. I personally use Froyostone, which does work with the stock ROM, but the best way is to download a few builds and try them out.
so another question i have
if i update my ROM to 3.14 from a 2.15
and upload some type of android
this will be okay?
In short, yes, most builds work with the 3.14 stock ROM.
im having a hard time looking for a 3.14 rom that is recently updated
not from early 2009
can someone post a link?
Check out the thread with blutopia Android auto boot in the title. Everything you need is there with a video. Tmous Rom Development section.

This is the easiest way for you to do it. He includes the auto boot script in his stripped 3.14 WinMo ROM, and it copies the Android files to your SD Card. Make sure you start with a freshly fat32 formatted SD Card.
He's going to release a newer one with the Topia 1.0.3, but if you don't want to wait, you can just overwrite the Android folder once you are done with the whole process with the 1.0.3 version and you will be up to date.
The Topia build is solid as hell and based on the HTC Incredible with the Sense UI. It's damn near perfect. 100% functional for me so far. This is my favorite Android build and I've tried a bunch.
Here's some screen shots.
