Hi
I know its HTC dedicated forum, but since there is lots of hi skilled chefs I would like to ask a question. Will it be hard to port HTC Sense from Android to Meamo?
N900 seems to be a very nice piece of hardware but Maemo lacks the polishness of HTS Sence ....

I doubt it'll happen. It hasn't even been ported to the Touch Pro 2 nevermind Maemo phones.
lacks the polish? how so? Meamo might just be the strongest standalone OS on a phone. Its almost a down grade to go to android, give it some time, that maemo community is almost as stong as the XDA community.
Well
I do not want to say bad world on maemo. Just i am missing a few things ...
like
Vertical menu
Dialer which looks directly into phone book - like on WinMo device
Nice clock app
Maybe this all will come with updates. And also - I do not talk about moving to Android - I am talking about portin Sense app to maemo. Secne is just the app like TouchFlo ...

sorry I must i just misunderstood, I thought u said u wanted HTC sense from andriod ported to maemo (edit, it is what u asked). What you're really asking for you would more likely find over in the Maemo.org forum. I would figure it being pretty tough being as though the n900 has no softkeys or hardkeys other than the keyboard. The only reason I didn't opt for a n900 was because of the landscape orientation of the phone, otherwise it was everything i've ever wanted in a phone. I wish windows could multitask so efficiently. Hope u find what u want heres a good place to start
N900 running android(Dual-Boot)
It's somewhat old news, but it appears that someone managed to get android running on the N900.

I just bought an unused Omnia II i920 off Ebay - It should be here in a week or so. So, I'd like to know...what ROM do you think is the best?
As some background, I'm coming from the i910. I'm currently using Lioryte's latest, with Titanium turned off and SPB MS3.5 with Mskip's enhancements. It's a thing of beauty, and took the Omnia from virtually unuseable to awesome. (I was formerly a huge Evidence/Bgill fan - his ROMs were rock solid! Hated losing him.)
This is how I'd planned to run the O2 - MS3.5. But, the Sense ROMs look pretty nice, too.
Lemme know, folks. I know there aren't many O2 owners here, but I also know that any here are striving to make the phone work to it's fullest potential. These are the type of folks I want advice from!
Man thats tough to say. I mean Ninja makes some AWESOME roms, I just don't like using 6.5
I have made a few and currently my favorite is the Sense 2.5 rom.
Just my 2 cents.
(BTW there are a BUNCH of us on MoDaCo)

I know, I've been an i910 Modaco member for a while. There just doesn't seem to be much activity in the i920 forum over there.
hi, I m 2 owner of omnia 2 and still doesent know how to upgrade my phone to offical latest rom, software say its allready latest, but i know that is Windows mobile 6.5 21863 build
Hi All,
I'd like to know if it is possible or not to load a different OS ROM into Samsung Omnia II i8000 ? eg. Android 2.2 ROM ? is it possible or vice versa, loading Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Pro into Samsung Galaxy S.
Thanks.
I was thinking same thing!
I'm ready to buy a Galaxy S and I was wondering if can be converted to WM 6.5.x as the hardware is better than my actual Omnia II.

i wonder if it is possible here.
Must be possible, but nobody have made it. Windows Mobile 6.5 is outdated, i would like android at least.

yes, so do I man, I wish someone can share the instruction here or at least their experience in loading Android OS in Samsung Omnia II i8000 mobile ?
Guys there isnt a real forum here for android on omnia II. But we have a great deal of the hardware working on it. Now the phone function isnt that long away. Look at:
bbbq1
You can see it is quite speedy. It has a 3x times higher filebenchmark than the galaxy s.
There will be a functional beta soon.
Because I dont have a topic here, you can follow the work on twitter:

I have ordered a Galaxy S (White) but intend to keep my Omnia II for other things, such as GPS/Navigation unless the Galaxy S proves itself a worthy contender with FroYo 2.2
As for Android on Omnia II, check this link out http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-ii-gsm-rom-discussion/298997/android-on-omnia-2-17-10-2010-see-first-post/
Sad to see the Topic is closed now....
How to load different OS
I'm interested in doing the same but I would like to try Symbian. Just the method in how to load a new OS is kinda unknown. WM 6.1 (on my Omnia II) is pretty slow, and have heard symbian works extremely well on Omnia. My mate has it on his omnia I and man it's smooth. He's not one too available for helping though. Other options are cookers for WM but not so sure yet
Any help on where and how? Recommendations?
Cheers
urrently there are no plans for porting to Symbian omnia 2, and I do not think is even possible, given the different resolutions (symbian 640x360 omnia 2480x800 )

Guess what, currently the progress seems promising as Almar team already managed to make BlueTooth and WiFi stable and workable...(probably still contain some bug) They are still working on it and these guys are doing an awesome job in keeping our Omnia i8000 alive....cheers and salute to Almar and the Omnia2Droid team!!!! Can't wait to try out Android on my phone..LOL

If we can get developers here to actively get android working on the Omnia II, I'll get you guys an Android development forum. (i'll have to pull some strings of course...)

There aren't any Android ports for the TP2 with Sense, that I know of.
Casually searching around (the Search function really works great!!!!) there is a Desire theme for Windows Mobile, but it requires the pay app Wisbar Advance Desktop:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820260&highlight=android
Another option is this:

And this:

What elements of Sense on the Desire are you looking for, specifically?
Thanks a lot Pros.
This will add a new look to my TP2
by the way, there is any more themes in cab. files that I can install to change my theme and all the icons .. ?!! If you know, so can you send me the like to install them
Thanks.

reserved for me..........................
Sense for Android powered HTC devices,as of now is not easily,if at all, available for us Touch Pro 2 owners who sometimes run Android 2.2 on our T.Pro 2s instead of windows mobile.Ive tried & HTC Sense i think will only work with the Snapdragon Processors, but i dont hav a device with a Snapdragon processor so i dont really know.I might wait for the 1.5 Ghz processor HTC will hav in some devices in the future.Because really, my T.Pro 2 is definetly the most useful, customizable, versatile device that can run any version of windows, old & new,Android, and i do all that with my T.Pro 2 that i flashed for use on Crickets Mobile network,& everything works great & Cricket doesnt even hav or sell any windows devices. So im extremely impressed with all the hard work evryones put into the developement of the Touch Pro 2.Such as roms, xdandroid, cht, maxsense, cool apps, etc, etc, etc,,,Thanks again evryone who helped.SORRY for straying off topic so much.Dont want u to think im tryin to hijack ur thread.Just greatly impressed with xdandroid developement for my T.Pro 2.Thanks,& if there is a way to get the Sense flipclock is what i want.
search for beautiful widget either in the android market place or online and you'll find that that clock looks almost identical to the sense flip clock... this is of course just for android NOT windows
Hi everybody,
one week ago I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S4.
It is a great mobil phone, but I really miss HTC Sense from my HTC One X+
So my question is:
Is there anywhere a "rom" or an other possibility to get HTC Sense on the S4??
Thx for your help.
tobi
Some people might be able to port it but they won't, infact lets say the most easy port will be for the I9505 only since the Exynos octa is too complicated and needs different librarys and files.... and another thing is that eventually when it ports your GS4 features won't work anymore since the Sense wizard doesnt support them which makes the GS4 useless it used to matter on old Cells when the hardware and software were almost identical and only the appearance changes but nowadays its a badass mutation that these pieces of Tech are going through
maybe someone will give you a launcher but not the whole Sense Wiz

You'll never have sense 4/5 on Samsung device many reasons for that lemme give you a few.
1. It would take forever to try and port it ( while the port would have sh1t load of buggs )
2. Pretty much requires the whole system cuz of framework.
3. Different drivers ( tho would be easier to port it on snapdragon s4)
4. HTC is never gonna give their codes since then everyone would have blink feed, HTC gallery etc, Zoe, you name it. Same with Samsung, everyone would have multiwindow etc what doesn't require hardware.
The only way you can have some type of sense would be getting launcher and downing icon packs.
Best would be flashing cm /aokp / aosp.
Getting icon pack for the launcher and downloading sense theme for cm
As for widgets there are bunch of them on the market or you could download uccw and make yourself some.
Anyway whatever you do it'll never be good as original. You'll always miss key features.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Edit:
On the other hand if you don't like the touch wiz you can pretty much have full Xperia system
Widgets, walkman, bravia, gallery, etc, you name it. Just look at xda or use search button.
