I noticed that even when I click on the Menu->Update Now or the circle arrow icon (top right), it does not refresh with the latest tweets (as compared to the the web). I have to go to the Task Manager and do a Menu->End All Tasks (and btw, Twitter/Peep is not displayed as an app in Task Manager), go back to Twitter/Peep and the new tweets are refreshed. Anyone else experience this?
P.S. I do not have Dowload Tweets Automatically checked in the settings.

Does this phone/Android in general offer push notifications?
I currently own an iPhone3GS (just got my PAC ,will be ordering Galaxy tomorrow)
I love Gooool 2009, keeps me up to date with scores in the football.I dont have to open an app to check the scores,it informs me as the goals go in.Is there something similar for Android?
And things like Facebook? Will I be informed if someone sends me an IM ala IM+ on iPhone?
I don't know about push notifications really, but your apps can stay connected to the internet in the background so 'live notifications' shouldn't be a problem.
The notification on android works differently (and, coming from an ipod touch, I'd say better). Your notifications will pop-up in the top bar, where your cellullar signal aswell as battery level and other things are displayed (at the moment they appear for the first time the notification bar will show text, like "New updates for program X" or "IM contact A says 'hey there, how are you doing?'", and then it will revert to the normal notification bar with icons for every missed notification). You don't have to click on them nor will they stop you from doing anything else. If you want to go to the app or the specific update/im chat, you just have to slide down the notification bar, and click on the notification. If you want to clear the notification bar, just slide it down and click clear.
edit: here's an example of the pulled-down notification bar on another android phone: http://thecellularguru. com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/android-g1-50.jpg (correct the link, I can't post links yet)
Normally in the Gallery application when you have an image showing on the screen, you have an option in the "Share" menu to upload to picasa. I know that my device is syncing my picasa web albums as the couple of images that I have previously uploaded are showing up in the Gallery. So it's odd that I don't have the Picasa option in the share menu. Also, aren't you supposed to be able to scroll the share menu? I've got quite a few items in that list and I'd be surprised if it doesn't go beyond the top of the screen (I know for certain it does in landscape mode....still can't scroll it).
Am I missing some option that I've overlooked? I'm moderately certain that Picasa showed up on a cyanogenmodded mt3g.
I have Picasa in my share menu.
Is it towards the top of your share menu?
I don't recall if it was at the top or if it would be alphabetical.
It's near the top, they aren't listed alphabetically, seems like just a random order.
That's what I was afraid of.
Though it would be nice if I could scroll the share list menu....
Not that I use picasa all that much.
Hi guys. So here is the problem: when I'm downloading or updating just any app and I click on the notification which shows up on the notifications bar, I just never (almost never) am guided to Google Play's app list. I dunno why is that. I cleared data of that app and it didn't help at all. Please help as it's becoming increasingly annoying.
PS. It also adds icons of downloaded apps to my homescreen occasionally despite the box in options unchecked (not to add them).
No one seems to have replied... Bump.
I think I have gone through every menu option in settings for my S4 i9505 but I can't for the life of me figure out how to disable the calendar appointment reminder that appear on the lock screen. I believe it is Samsung S Planner application that is doing it but I can't find any options for it under the general settings for Security, Display, Lock Screen or in the settings for S Planner. I'm not sure where else to look. I'd like to carry on using S Planner as the application interface isn't too bad but I really want to disable to calendar reminder on the lock screen. Any ideas?
Thanks

I don't seem to have that option. I have included the screen shots of the options I have under that menu

I tried this and found two apps one called S Planner and another called S Planner Widget. S Planner had the Show Notification check box disabled (i.e. could not toggle the settings) and the Disable button was inactive (could not click this). However, the S Planner Widget could be changed so I disabled the Show Notification and also Disabled it. I believe it is the S Planner Widget that was the offender so hopefully this will have fixed it. I'll know for sure after a few appointments have come and gone and nothing get's splatted across my lock screen. Thanks for the help.

As it turns out, this did not fix the issue. The S Planner application has an option in the application for "Set alerts and notifications". The options are:
1. Alert
2. Status bar notification
3. Off
I've now set this to Off which has stopped the lock screen view coming up. The notification bar notifications are still coming up (presumably this is coming from the main Calendar application). The notification bar notifications is something I still wanted to retain but unfortunately clicking on this notification just takes me to the normal Calendar app rather than S Planner.
Doesn't seem a way around it as far as I can see.

I have used the 1st option (1. Alert) and it seems to be that the reminders appear on the notification bar, and in the first occasion of the reminder as a dismiss or snooze screen but NOT on the lock screen. Give that a try.
I am using stock EUI 5.8.020S and most of my notifications gets grouped together under a special "..." icon in the notification bar. It is extremely annoying as I want each notification to get a separate icon. I have read that switching region to "USA" on some devices fixes this issue (bug?), but that does not work on mine. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks!
I also don't understand the logic behind grouping or not grouping, as both Facebook and GMail both gets their own icon, while most other apps gets grouped under the "..." icon. No setting I make seems to change this
