Many of us experience the random playback error in manila 2.5 music player.
Here is a recomendation on how to solve this bug (no matter which chef's ROM u r using)
As I am writing this post I am listening to one of my best WASP songs from manila 2.5 music player without any bugs...
What I have done is I reformatted my SD card in a FAT32 file system with 4056 bytes allocation unit size and it work great.
Other attempts with no results than that were:
Flash ROMs both ways (SD card or PC)
Resync my songs
Copy songs to main memory
Hard resets
etc.
So my advice to everyone who has a problem with their music player in manila 2.5 check your SD card's format type and allocation unit size

Do the problems occur when the memory card is not in the phone?
no when the memory card is in the phone, i downloaded storage tools for my PPC and formatted it and it is working now i think lol, i will keep this thread bookmarked so that if the problem occurs again i can say here. but thanks for the help much appreciated

my first cooked ROM flash was Dutty's 3.9 and since after numerous flashes my sd card and its files has never been fully formatted, so the cabs, mp3, jpeg, etc files basically build up gradually in clutter (though with some attempt on my part to tidy as much as i can.
fast forward. . . now flashing the latest Leo ROMS with Windows 6.5, i encountered numerous headaches, which i initially thought was some fault in the BETA Manila releases and the infancy of Win 6.5.
Pain 1. when playing Music the sudden stoppage halfway through.
Pain 2. facebook unable to login (Dutty Leo R5)
steps i made which rectified the above pains
1. i made a backup of all my sd card files. (8gb)
2. formatted the card (Full format - fat32)
3. placed back all photos, music, programs, cab files etc in an orderly fashion to my sd card ( i renamed some music files i had which begins with a number -deleted the numbers-)
4. Surprise! beautiful new photo folder arrangements in Manila Album.
5. Most importantly, gone is the freezing while playing music in Manila music tab.!!!!
Hi,
i have a 8gb class4 sd card, how does the 2gb install affect this.
does it mean i can only use 2gb of my card or does this mean i can only install 2gb of apps?
the reason i ask is that i had a lot of music and pics on my sd card the first time i installed android and everything showed up and i was a happy chappy.
Then when i go to swap files over plugged in via usb connection (on android or winmo), the files transfer but then dont show in music player and dissapear from the card altogether after a reboot in android but can be browsed but not played and the original files still stay even after deletion. its the weirdest thing ive ever seen.
i had some issues with the card having corrupt files wiped it/error checked then reset my winmo install and installed android without resident .mp3 files on the sd, added some mp3's all good added apps to android and back to square one. unable to see new files and old files cant be got rid of correctly.
maybe my sd card is at the end of its life?(only 5 months old but well used) might of been unplugged live a few times but still works when if damaged they are virtually unreadable.
mattc's nexus v1.1 was my reinstall after using the previous version, apart from this issue it ran great, but the music function no.1 for me
any help/thoughts more than appreciated
bump
bump, again just transferred files and they dont show
You may need to reformat the card. They recommend this each time you install a new android build.

One opinion: try kwbr's ROMs and see if it's OK for playing music...
It's working very good for me (but it's working too for the latest energy reference ROM)...

Hi all, a few months ago I´ve bought the HD Mini + a class4 8GB SD card and I had a problem with its speed, the reading from the SD-card was really horrible. When I copied new music to the card in the evening, the HTC Sense-player wasn´t able to laod all the music the whole next day (but the files were in the file-explorer and i played the music in the WMP, but that was too really slow.
I thinked it was a problem with the SD card (it was only class4), so i bought a new class10 16 GB MicroSD...but it is the same...SLOW SLOW SLOW, if I often copy new files to the card it´s always practicallly useless. I have too tried to put in my friend´s cards (if i haven´t a bad one) but it didn´t help, I reseted the whole system...nothing new. (
So does anybody know what could be the problem, has someone experience with this?
Thanks for answers
hi,did u format it FAT32?
attempt to analyze & eliminate corrupt mp3 files
Class 2 should be sufficient for the normal tasks (video, music playback etc).
Maybe you can try formatting the card with this:
http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/
Other possibilities are that the card is a fake one and possibly is corrupt or under performing. Or your Mini simply has a hardware failure... But I would first flash a custom rom to test everything.
try to flash using cooked rom from the ROM dev forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=621
