problem with Bluetooth headset hardwarebuttons - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi there,
question, I have an a2dp bluetooth headset, which I use to listen to my music on my diamond, but since I've stopped using Touchflo3d I have the following problem: the play/pause/ffwd/bwd buttons only seem to work with windows media player. even worse, If I'm listening to music with pocket player and I touch one of the buttons, it automatically starts windows media player.
How can I turn this off? is there a tool to configure which software uses my a2dp functionality??

Even though it's extremely dead, you really should post in the Condiuts forum - not here. AVRCP is problematic at best on Windows Mobile. It's one of the main reasons I'm ditching Windows Mobile entirely as soon as I can find a good phone sporting Andriod (I'm crying about HTC's decision to not provide a HD2 based Andriod phone).
Which version of Pocket Player do you use? I'm using 4.1. I think 4.0 and 4.1 are the only ones that properly support AVRCP. Even so, sometimes, as you note, it goes and starts controlling WMP. Stupid HTC caused this!
Meantime check out http://www.conduits.com/community/forum_posts.asp?TID=1785&PN=1
It talks about a new Bluetooth DLL that fixes a lot of the problems (but, unfortunately not all). This DLL is a Windows Mobile 6.5 based DLL so that may explain some of the times when it messes up.
Good luck.

answering machine software???

hi guys, i couldnt help noticing that when i previously used nokia 6600 (symbian s60) they had few 3rd party that is able to make use of their audio mechanism during callls. for example, one software can make selected background noise for opposite callers so they think that u are at a train station for example when infact u r silently at home. another software is an on board answering machine, which after the phone rang for a few times it answer the fonecall with your automated recorded voice and recorded a msg left by the caller on the fone. this is convenient for us so we dont need to call back our voicemail and reduce cost as well as some telco charge to use their voicemail service. im surprised these kind of software have not came out for our windows mobile device when its already available for symbian. im sure it shouldnt be that hard to make it. any coder expert wanna give it a go??
cutefox, what kind of searches have you made for this software on this board? Did you have much luck?
V
i already tried commercial such as handango and pocket gear.. even freeware sites also no luck.. jus dun understand why no 1 made one yet.. shouldnt b too hard to make one.. it will be a big market to sell such a software for our ppc phone device now that more devices is coming out..
Cutefox: have you tried searching this board? Let me save you the effort, but it'll be a good idea next time. It's not generally considered possible, at least on WM2003 devices because of both hardware and software limitations. It's not that no one has thought of it before: someone seems to think of it approximately every two days... but there are many many threads on this issue.

Look at what I said here...

That sums up why we can't do it using the api's available to us now. The funny thing is the way bluetooth sends the audio stream to a headset. Obviously the data is getting there somehow but I suspect it is not (directly) via windows. Dose anyone know if the radio hardware for bluetooth is connected to the radio hardware for the phone? My guess is that if you could write a program that windows "sees" as a headset then you could get the audio that way. But thats a problem in itself.
I would love this kind of program myself. How is it that such usefull devices with so many capeabilities can be kept secret from us. We can't use the camera, we can't get the cell id on towers, we can't programatically controll the partnerships in blutooth, we cant get the audio stream of our own phone, the events on some ppc's that control brightness are secret..... the list goes on. This kind of #@!!$$ is going to hurt the future of these devices which I otherwise love.
OdeeanRDeathshead: I had read your previous posts, and as ever, very interesting and informative reading. I had the same idea regarding a "dummy" bluetooth device a while back, but mamaich put me in my place!

thanks vijay555, thats what I have suspected about the hardware. What I want to do is a bit different. The bluetooth can communicate to many devices at once. If your program could appear to be a headset to the os, then the phone bluetooth hardware could transmit the audio to the headset at the same time your program uses bluetooth to receive it. Kind of like a loop out of the box to bridge the lack of functionality. This shifts the problem to how dose a hardware bluetooth headset communicate. Emulate this and we are on a winner. I don't think I have the willingness to pull my devices appart. I also do not have the money for some of the hardware (eg good digital oscilliscope) that I would need to measure whats going on. I did read that microsoft are about to expose some new api to allow control over the pairing process (but not the audio stream). I hope that we get some soon.
Is there going to be any new (for 2005) free development tools like the evc versions used today?
OdeeanRDeathshead: re eVC, I don't think so. The "express editions" are free, but they specifically omit the functionality to develop "mobile solutions".
Re the loop back. That's a good idea. I think mamaich is our best bet on schematics, I think that would be very helpful. As you "rave", it's mindboggling that Microsoft still haven't revealed or implemented a way to interact with the audio channels. It must have been one of the first things one could imagine doing once you develop a PDA with a phone stuck on the back of it.
Any idea if the bluetooth stacks could support transmitting and receiving simultaneously in this manner? I know some of the boys are working on alternative bluetooth support for the stereo headset profiles, so they might be able to shed some light on the issues involved. I guess the processor overhead could be hefty, but for the benefit it would be beneficial.

This ROM is not bad at all. Is it a real 6.1 ROM?
The Good:
1) BT Stack good. I've used my S9 stereo headset and there's no problems so far. Music plays well.
2) Very fast and stable. No problems scrolling while browsing using PIE.
3) Very Clean ROM
The Bad:
1) I have not found a streaming media player that works with it. I've tried TCPMP and the HTC Streaming Media Player. I cannot play youtube videos. Any clues on how to do this with WM6.1
2) When I try to update the library in WMP to include songs on my SD card, I end up with not only songs but all ringtones, etc. in the library.
Nice Job dude.
Really nice 6.1 rom? 0_o
This ROM working fast. Cool! But:
1. My PC (WinXP SP2) can't find driver for BA, ActiveSync installed.
2. Some several programs don't start up. (popup window with "The file 'mchat' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate..."
Can anybody help me with this problems?
PS: Sorry for bad english.

nice to see you in our forum, thanx for ur great ROM and support. I have a question regarding the battery drain, i have a brand new battery but it lasts only for 12-18 hours with usual phone usage and GPRS always connected (for exchange server), is it normal or i have a problem?
Backlight not working
Love this rom. The only issue I have found so far is my backlight not working. When I soft reset, backlight is on. As soon as it boots into the rom, the backlight is off. Have checked settings, pressed and held power button (to turn on backlight) but nothing I do seems to turn the backlight on.
Anyone else with this issue?
second hard reset fixed the backlight problem
Please disregard my last post. did a second hard reset - this fixed baclight problem!
hmmm...might give it a try...while waiting for xplode's release
can any body uplaod it some where else

Try this plugin for TCPMP:

I have not flashed the new rom, but I guess since this is independent from the rom itself, it should work ok. Enjoy!

Thanks. I think I've tried that video bundle. But I'll give it another go just to be sure.
PDAVIET:
I know that Helmi, Xplode, and others have made lots of contributions to the BA. I know this ROM would not exist without their work also. Nevertheless this ROM is simply rocks. Possibly the best ROM for BA yet. The more I use it the more I like it.
1) It connects quickly to WiFi. If the device is turned off, the WiFi goes off. But when the device is turned on again later, the WiFi springs to life and connects. With other BA ROMs, I had to go to the wireless manager page to restart WiFi.
2) The Bluetooth has fantastic sound. Better yet, it stays on when the device is shut off so that I can use a BT headset reliably. Some earlier ROMs had to keep waking up to keep the BT going. This was very annoying.
3) The 6.1 is very stable and fast. I haven't had to do any resets so far.
I am finding some programs won't load. I get errors like "Not Signed or Bad Certificate". Is there any way around this?

Can you post which programs are not running? I believe that I saw a patch for the Certificates error somewhere in the Development and Hacking section. However, I am not sure if these patches are program specific.
i hope that u upload it to another site such as megashare

W100 and Kaiser

Dear Xda's, i have a problem and i need help! I would like to know if there is anyone that knows a rom in which the w100 remote control works perfectly? Since all the Roms that i have tried lately (Dutty, L26, UDK) fail misserably when i try to make to make the remote work. They all af the same problem that they just dont recoqnise the remote, if i plug it in, the sounds still comes over the speaker instead of the headphones.
I also tried the drivers on each rom but they fail to install since its not necessary accourding to them. I have tried extracting the drivers and install one of the seperate drivers but they eather cause my touchscreen not to work or my sound disappears.
I've used the search btw and googled, but after 3 nights for searching and trying i havent found anything so far.
If someone knows a rom, driver or anything that works, please say it here since im gettin a bit frustated. Thanks!
Bump, anyone plix?
Just gonna do smooth bump again since after a month of trying still no succes. HTC isnt responding with an answer so my only hope is here!
L26 KaiserDiamond Throttle Launcher Beta 6 works partially
I have a Kaiser (tilt) running this ROM and the sound is OK. Volume control pops WMP (I use S2P) - mute pops Audio Control and I did not have a chance to test the phone funcitons. But at least I can liste to music
Did you try the original HTC Tytn II ROM posted somewhere in Kaiser ROM development ?
I hope this helps.

what's the most suitable WM6.1 ROM for me? ^ ^

hi guys, I bought a BA recently, & I found this forum, HEAVEN!!!
I:
-play a lot of mp3 through earphone, TCPMP is my only player
-run on 3600mAh battery, battery life is my life
-play video clip @ <500kbps occasionally
-share file with other devices & active sync through BT
-do simple phone operations like sms & calling only, not using BT headset or what
-want stability
or which rom has least problem (& what are they?) apart from being free from any problems related to the above?
thanks for any possible guidance
generally, our WM6.0 or 6.1 is designed for latest handheld with vga screen, higher speed, better hardware so each ROM has its own characteristics... you should do trial and error... practices make perfect bro...
cheers
evo
PS:dont worry of making mistakes.. all the information that you need is here.. happy upgrading
I'm pretty new to BA like you are. What I've learned so far is that you need to try each ROM yourself and see how your device responds to it. I'm guessing that these BAs are like any other piece of computer hardware. You can have 5 devices all exactly alike and get 8 different responses as to which works best.
Some units have problems with Wifi depending on which ROM you use. That's been my biggest issue is trying to find a ROM that'll let me use Wifi without too many headaches. I've had mine for like a month or so now and I'm still flipping ROMs to compare.
Swampy just came out with a new one which I need to try, and Sundream mentioned he'll have a new one soon too. Xplode said he would a while back, but I'm still waiting on that one as well.
Unfortunately there isn't a sticky with a list of ROMs that list each person and their latest ROM. That would be incredibly handy and help clean up the forums a bit I'd think.

Rom with microsoft bluetooth stack??

Is anyone cooking a rom for the T-mobile HD2 that uses the Microsoft bluetooth stack instead of widcomm. I am looking to see if Microsoft Voioce Command will work properly with this stack.
yes. it would be nice to use my by keyboard and mouse again. LOL.
Subscribing to this thread, too...
Very Unhappy
I could not wait for the HD2 to be released on Tmobile. I have been with them for almost 9 years. I thought finally I can use their 3G network with the HD2. The last thing I expected was for the basic functions of the phone to not work. The phone does so much and is very advanced yet the basic bluetooth functions have been left out. I have spoken with both Tmobile and higher level support at HTC and honestly neither is going to do anything about the bluetooth support on this phone.
Well, if this is true, then it's becoming more and more clear that this is not something they just forgot to integrate - they omitted it on purpose, like the second camera (the second big fauxpas for a "high end phone"!), in order to have something left they can put into HD3 which makes people buy a new device...
I'm still wondering about the roms though - on PC I used to fight with BT stacks years ago. But it as always possible to install a different one, no matter what BT dongle I was using. Is it definitely impossible to create a rom with another stack? Is the stack somehow hard coded into the hardware?

Great question...I'm hoping there is an answer.
This would be so great if anyone could make my bt mouse running again on HD2. May be there could be a sourgeforce app or a MS BT stack cracked HD2-Rom.
If I only could use my BT mouse on HD2, may be in 2012 on WM8? Would be so nice for RDP, Virtual Machines, Gaming...
Someone tried on HD2 android with blueinput? Cannot get my BT working Android Running since my new Radio semms not to fit, will test later... I changed the BT working Android to the Phone working Android that is running fine on new Radio...

I was able to get a BT keyboard to work on my HD2 with stock rom. I never tried a mouse.
