[Q] Volume up as hardware camera button? - Touch HD General

Just wondering if there was a tweak to remap volumeup to the shutter button when in camera mode? (and only in camera mode)
The default rotate on HTC devices has always seemed a bit wrong to me. Surely it makes more sense to have the volume buttons "at the top" when in landscape mode?

Disable volume buttons

Is there a way to disable volume up/down buttons?
They are very sensitive and I often press them unintentionally.
Yeah, I was interested in this? Are there any applications to run them these buttons?
any ideas ?
AE Button plus does this. I have it on my HTC Touch2 and have the volume buttons disabled. Works perfectly fine.

is there a way to use volume buttons as zoom buttons when in camera mode?

can we make volume buttons as zoom buttons when in Camera mode in Samsung Focus?
No, but that's an excellent point to bring to MS folks.

[Q] Toggle silent mode with hardware buttons (without looking at screen)

Been using iPhone for several years and now in my Nexus 4 I miss hardware button to switch silent mode. It is very convenient to turn off sound without getting the phone out of the pocket.
Maybe there is some way to hack android to somehow toggle silent mode using some combination of pressing volume/power buttons?

Is it just me that doesn't like volume button switching when rotating device?

Maybe this is just me, but I find it annoying and a bit confusing that the volume button assignment switches when I rotate my device.
In landscape mode pressing the volume rocker up/left turns the volume up, and down/right turns the volume down. This is how I would expect things to work.
However, when I rotate to portrait mode, pressing the volume rocker up/left now turns the volume down instead of up. And pressing the volume rocker down/right turns the volume up.
Perhaps I'm overlooking a setting or developer option that will keep the assignments the same regardless of whether the device is in landscape or portrait.

You can use the button mapper app from APKPure to fix this.

I gave this a try, but no luck.
Set the volume keys to customized and assigned Volume+ and Volume- to always be + or -. However, I'm still seeing the same behavior when I rotate the device it flips the which direction increases/decreases the volume.
Also tried playing with the option to swap the volume buttons on rotate, and still could not get the effect to have the settings stay the same when you rotate. Perhaps I'm missing something.

That requires a PRO version to use Swap volume keys on orientation change.

Been fiddling with the pro version, but still no joy. Would you be able to share the setting you have in the app that are working for you?
