Try charginf battery with the display Off
How about charging it every night when you are going to sleep?
In any case, turn off WiFi, LCD, GPS, bluetooth and any other data connections while not using it.
If you charge using the supplied USB cable, be sure to set the LCD brightness to minimum for a much faster charge.
It is much better to charge battery over travel charger, it must be just few hours for full charge
Are you, by any chance, charging the unit with a computer?

There is a significant difference in charging with the supplied wall charger compared to the USB cable. Just use the wall charger and your charge times will drop to about 3 hours from 10% battery to full charge.
If you have lost the wall charger, be sure to set the LCD brightness to minimum while charging through USB.

Don't use USB for charging if you have a wallcharger at hand....it takes way too long!!
Wallcharger on empty battery 2 Full charge takes about 2 hours.
2 hour full charge with wall charger wow!!! i was thinking usb charger will be faster. and my other question is should i use my original dopod wall charger or other wall charger is fine? let me know

Of course the original charger is the best to use.
If you do not have the original charger, find a charger that outputs 5V and 1A.
Charging via USB seems to be a MS Windows Mobile issue, not necessarily an Anthena problem. Since WM5 Aku 3, most devices have issues charging over USB..

Let's hope someone invents a docking cradle with this facility like the old HP PPC's.

After using U1000 for almost a month now, I don't feel that the battery life is any better than my Universal. If it's better, perhaps, a little bit better.
Hi.
I bought a Himalaya from ebay that cannot be charged through mains charger...
Although it can be charged through the usb cable..
I tried to charge it with its cradle connected to the wall charger and it's not charging. If i remove the battery and put it on the cradle it's charging(the battery only). Also, i tried my blueangel's wall charger and it's also not working with this himalaya. (it should?..)
So...now i'm charging the device through usb...either with the cradle or just a capable usb cable.
I think that there's a problem with the connector of the device...but i wonder why it's charging on usb and not charging on mains charger.
The best solution that i can imagine is to open it...measure the pins with a multimeter and then short-circuit the usb charging pin with the 'faulty' one...
Any other ideas?

Hi.
Thanks for the reply. I have already tried to alter the connections on the charger. I short-circuited pin 22 with pin 13 and it was charging. Altough...when i tried to solder the short-cirtuit i destroyed charger's connector So i'm afraid to solder something on the 2020's side.
Is there a way or special soldering iron for such jobs?.....
My conclusion about himalaya's charging system is that it's charging from pin 13 when connected on usb but it's charging from pins 20,21,22( not sure) when connected on a wall charger.
For now, i'm using a usb wall charger by connecting the usb cable on it.
dear nicktgr15
Its very interesting.
Could you please give me screenshoot of that PIN connect to wall charger ? Which PIN in the himalaya mainboard .. connect to what Female PIN on wall charger ?
My Himalaya 22 pin choped so can not possible to charge on spot.
I can only charge the battery by remove the battery and charge on seperate charger.
So when my himalaya power is over I have to take the battery out on it and charge it on the general charger...
Thanks anyway.
I bougth a 3200mAh battery on ebay, when it arrived, I changed my old battery.
The new one lasted for 2 days afther a full charge (12h BT on, 2h WiFi, and a lot of GPRS messenger)
at 2% I wanted to recharge the battery but afther 1 minute it doesent charge anymore it drains itself and charge again to 2% an stops and it does this over and over
what can I do? any sugestions?
Maybe the problem is with the charger could not withstand it or the batery that u brought has been used before when you have not buy it or the batery is spoit when arriving.
hy, meanwhile I changed back to my old battery, plugged in the charger, it showed that it's charging but it was actualy discharging, the % where going down, could it be a phone hardware problem?
buy some charger with 2000 mah or higher..
Buy The Charger That Has A Stronger Voltage
thank you for your interest, the problem was not the charger, just the Uni charging port, Because my Uni is real used the port metallic part was loosen so I tightened it together a little bit, so now my 3200 battery is charged via USB from my laptop in aprox. 9h
but it is an idea to buy a 2A charger (the original is 1A)
One of my two phone batteries (both official LG batteries) will only charge if I put it in an external charger - it will not accept a charge if left in the phone and the phone is connected to a charger. My other battery is fine - i.e. it will charge in either the phone or in an external charger.
I was wondering if anyone knew why a battery would not charge when in the phone, but will do so when in an external charger?
my mate9 no turn on no charge battery too
is possible remove battery and charger in universal external charger?

Only if you rip out the charging port interface as well, seeing how the battery only has a motherboard connector.
But if the charging circuitry sits on the motherboard, you might be out of luck.
