New Panelizer tools make it easy to turn existing native applications, Flash and Java in to Panels. The Panel SDK includes the Panelizer tools and the SDK for native, HTML and OpenGL ES application development. ... The Sony Ericsson Panel SDK for X2 also adds new Panelizer tools which make it easy to take existing applications and turn them in to Panels. This applies not only to native .exe and .net applications, but there are also tools that turn Flash and Java applications in to Panels.

What is the Panelizer?
The Panelizer is a simple, free-to-use tool which converts an existing application in to an XPERIA™ Panel. There are four Panelizers in the SDK:
Flash Panelizer – standalone tool which converts a Flash application to a Panel (http://developer.sonyericsson.com/getDocument.do?docId=101284)
Java Panelizer - standalone tool which converts a Java ME application to a Panel (http://developer.sonyericsson.com/getDocument.do?docId=101283)

I think we might ger all the soft ported to the X1. After all, the chipset is the same lol...
hmmmm, this flash panelizer thing is what i call innovation, now im gonna be busy
The Sony Ericsson Beta Panel SDK for X2 (1.0.6.3) is now available for download: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/docstools/windowsmobile/p_windowsmobile.jsp
we have to pray for an update for our x1, flash panels aint supported as far as i have tried that flash panelizer maybe nevermind can tell us if we will get anymore updates from SEUS for the x1

You need the "leaked R3" panel manager, not the stock one, and you also need to install the flash deployment cab to get the growing panel to work.

Edit: So, I installed the cab and went to my panel screen --- didn't show up when I tried to add it.
I rebooted the phone and it still doesn't show.

I don't know, it is working fine on my x1 (I'm using PCTech4U v2.0 ROM)
(I see now that there is an other topic about this and other x2 panels in the ROM section.)

Since I mostly use the spb shell-panel I started to get very bothered with the amount of clicks needed to enable or disable bluetooth (in some SE panels this is available with a click on an icon and then an OK but not in spb shell).
Since I am used to develop applications in Visual Studio I got around to learn how to develop for the windows mobile platform and threw together a little application to do what I wanted.
This little application simply enables or disables bluetooth without any fuss or questions and then terminates itself. The first time the application is started you will be asked whether you want your cellphone to be visible to other devices when bluetooth is enabled. I have this app in my startmenu so it is always available.

Oh, thank you! I still don't have an xperia, but for sure when I'll have it, i'll install this cab^^ but could you do it also as a "panel"? This would be awesome, I think.. Because I really like the design, its very beautiful and as a panel it could be really useful^^ anyway, thanks a lot!!! Greez, cad

Unfortionately I have no idea how to code panels at the moment. I downloaded SonyEricssons developer kit for panels but it was only for C++ and my coding language of choice is C#. But maybe I can find something here in the forums.
Personally I would say I prefer not having this app as a panel since I want it available all the time (It's in my start menu).
Ah, that makes sense. It would have been just a goody to play with, I would have really liked such a panel, but you're right, this is much more effective. Hehe, and you would've been the first one programing such a panel, isn't that exciting? anyway, don't hear me, I know really nothing about programing, so don't care what I say just thank you for this really helpful app!!! Greez, cad^^
Thanks alot! I really wanted to use the spb panel but it didnt have the enable/disable connectivity buttons so I had to stick with the sony ericsson one which is painfully slow!
Is it possible that you could make something similar, but for enable/disabeling wifi, please?
cheers mate

Hi!
I am actually thinking about creating such a program. What would be the prefered way to do it you think? To get a question when the application is started whether you want to work with wifi or bluetooth, or to have two separate applications, one for wifi and another for bluetooth?
I am leaning towards alternative number two, I like just having to click the application once and that's it.

Yes, thats what I would prefer. Keep it simple.
why not install SPB Phonesuite - then you have a plugin on the today screen with one large nice button to quickly turn wifi and bluetooth on and off

Too bad spb didnt intergrate connectivity buttons in their panel...
I use aebplus.. amazing program.
linked the "OK" button to bring up the "action list" when double clicked, and then scroll down to toggle bluetooth on/off. super fast and reliable since it only uses hard keys.
read about my other shortcuts here:

Thank you!
from the spb-panel:
- click antenna
- click comm manager
- start bluetooth
and now:
- press start
- start bluetooth
is it really about 1 click ?

So was a wifi switcher created?
First nice work khaan!
I use PhoneWeaver, its really a profile tool. Where you can customize alot, sounds, connections and so on... manual or autoswitching profiles. But about the Bluetooth thing, you can add PW to you todayscreen, and there you see your bt-connection, press it to acitvate or disable it.
I found these whilst browsing the forum yesterday, seem to work well.

I've been having a play getting Panels running on the Touch HD, and thought i'd put a CAB up of my efforts so far... i'm working to make the experience even better... consider this EARLY BETA!
What's hot...
- It works
- No 'Panels' button the HD of course, so you get a Panels icon on the start menu
- Performance of the actual panels is great
- It works
- AppToDate support for future updates
What's not so hot (yet)...
- It takes a few seconds for the panel select app to open
- The FM Radio and Media Xperience panels don't work properly on the HD (is the FM Radio panel outputting via extUSB?)
- The TouchFlo 3D plugin has to be disabled or pressing the home key returns you to TF3D (working on fix)
What's coming up
- Speed boost!
- Option to map to hardware button
- Requests?
What you need to do to install
- Disable TF3D from Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items
- Install main CAB from below
- REBOOT
- Run Panels from the start menu to choose panel
- Optionally install additional panels from the links below
Downloads
See MoDaCo topic here.
Enjoy!

now installing and testing, btw, which device (x1 or HD) has better video hardware acceleration? Or is it the same?
i gotta say, hats off to you! Looks really good. Saw some salesman with his se x1 and the speed doesn't even differ much. Ofcourse it would be nice if the panels react a little more smoother, but my first impressions are: wow!
keep up the good work!
just a quickie how do you get back out from a panel ???
:sonyNewbie:
i use start panel, then you can choose panels
Thanks God...you are not calling for testers and then no cabs...and all you see is pages and pages...no cabs...
but Modaco, you directly posted the cabs...great...I will try it soon.
Thanks for the efforts

Hi Modaco.
Well....it does not work for me...
I installed the 10,1 Mb CAB and I can see the Panels quick launcher in my start menu, but it keeps on showing me something like "PanelManager.exe cant`t be open. It couldn`t be digitally signed or there is a missing component, If the probelm persists, etc...." (free translation form spanish) everytime i Reboot the HD.
Of course when I push the Pannels Quick Launcher nothing happens...
Any idea to fix it?.
Thanks.

Hi all,

Notice that Default desktops settings probably doesn't fit to any other then 320x240 screens. It is beta so I haven't focus on this yet.
Almost 100% support of all possible resolutions (including VGA, Touch HD resolution, etc.). There are a few situations where yrgo will not drawn everything correctly.
Multilanguage support - I'll provide the translation tool soon on my forum.
Improved graphical rendering. Animations and scrolling should be faster.
New headline in menus showing clock, battery and signal level.
Today plug-in Gadget: ability to Share one instance of the plugin on several desktops - this repairs bugs with some plugins that weren't able to show correctly on several desktops (or in portrait and landscape mode). You can even set the size of the Today Plugin Gadget (some Today Plugins doesn't support resizing correctly).
New Desktop switcher gadget - in Design mode you can set an icon to every desktop in yrgo. This icon is then used with Desktop switcher gadget.
New Volume gadget - it currently doesn't show the Volume state (on, off, vibrate) - will be implemented later.
New Gadgets using actions history: Most used actions, Most used settings, Most used applications, Most used calls, Most written SMSes
Gadget clock allows to show digital clock using fancy pictures - just set clock to digital and then to "Graphical clock"
Gadget Date - you can set the format of the date using the same parameters as you use them in Regional settings.
Small information panel when yrgo is processing action that take more time.
Added shadow to the texts
New color themes
The list items can be again controlled by the keyboard
More smart installer - the installation is finished when run yrgo first - after that some unnecessary files are deleted so the yrgo takes less space on your PDA.
Repaired bug - in VGA mode the Gadgets in design mode drew an trail while moving them.
Repaired bug - the Gadgets were rearranged when trying to change landscape/portrait mode and using Non-FullScreen mode.
Repaired bug - sometimes yrgo catches "fake" clicks when accessing the context menu.
There were some another changes but I just forgot on them ;-).
Enjoy and let me know.
The downloadable zip can be found here.
Thank you.
Regards,
Luky

Hi nickytheshaft,
that's exactly what I meant by this claim:
"Notice that Default desktops settings probably doesn't fit to any other then 320x240 screens. It is beta so I haven't focus on this yet."
But you can easily switch yrgo to the Design mode and redesign all the items in any way you want. Check the video on www.2daysoft.com

Hi,
yes, it is a beta version - that means it is not version officially presented on my website or offered on various download servers.
yrgo is shareware - it works with limitations without purchasing a registration key. And the same condition is valid for the beta versions. The users that has already bought yrgo are able to unlock beta version with their registration key, but without this key, you cannot unlock it.

I downloaded and installed to device, but it did not appear as a panel. How do you get it to be selectable as a panel. I had the same problem with the new weather one as well.
Ok, I also tried it, installed on the sd card and it works!
Don´t download the .cab files from SPB website they´re often outdated, download the software package and check after installatio for version nummer.
Just install on the sd card and show up in panell nice relase
make sure if you want the panel version you download the correct one..

extra panels
Any hook up on extra panels?
That work?
Is it uninstallable?
I would love to try this, but would like to be able to revert back to just TF3D without panels (for performance)
Trying it out now. Will report back later. Anyone looking for the download link, follow the link from the first post (mobilitydigest) and read the paragraph. The link is there towards the bottom.
Edit 1 - With the newer WM 6.5 builds, the alignment keeps shifting up and down, trying to accommodate the new bigger bottom bar & smaller top bar.
Edit 2 - Installing new panels has no affect. Only the four panels in the screenshots are available from what I can work out, unless I missed something. It's a great port though. Hopefully someone (maybe herg) will be able to incorporate a way to install the additional panels at some point.
Edit 3 - Apparently, Windows Live Panel works, but haven't tried it myself. The CABs I have tried that don't work are: Growing Panel, Media Xperience Panel, ActiveX Deployment Flash Plugin & R3A Panel Manager. Granted, with the last two, there probably wasn't much hope anyway as the are built for the Xperia, but some panels require these two add-ons to work.
Is there a way to have it load up as default instead of tf3d?
Is this any different from the other port on Modaco, which I have been using for a while on my touch pro2? If not, then is credit due to Paul @ Modaco?
With my version, I have downloaded the SPB mobile shell panel, which works fully: http://www.sonyericsson.com/fun/#ts...Id=-1;startIndex=0;phoneId=-1;contentItemId=0
I have also downloaded Pointui's panel as well, which works (with some limitations without paying for the pro version): http://downloads.pointui.com/public/home2/cabs/pro/Pointui.Home2.X1.Pro.Latest.cab
I assigned holding my call button to launch the panels, which works well and the fish panel acts as a nice screen saver when docked/syncing at work!
It would be interesting if someone could test this Panel:
SPB Mobile Shell 3.0.1 Panel
If that works we know this new Panel Manager is the latest one - R3xxxx.
I´m now using the old Modaco Blackstone Panel Manager and this Panel don´t work because it´s too old (R1xxx). The SPB Mobile Shell Panel downloaded from Sony Ericsson is the older classic Panel edition of MS 2.1.x.
could someone explain me, how to get tf3d as a panel??
is there a panel i can download?
I have the at&t tilt 2... installed this and working great.. 2 questions
Once I choose a panel is there a way to bet back to the panel selector, all im able to do is hit the panel icon but it takes awhile to get me back..
2nd thing is my internet connection is all messed up with this app on my phone, cannot update weather on TFD3, cannot download pop3 email and internet browser is bad.
TF3D is automatically a panel...in other words, whatever your default Today screen is remains that way - the panel doesn't override that so they coexist.
I didn't see anything different as far as connection by having panels installed and there's nothing in the panels that should impact net settings.
To get back to panel selector just load the panels again. If you map it to a hardware key it's that simple- just hit the hardware button again.

Agree on the hardware keymap. I just programed a longpress on the back key to bring up the panels button, and it works great!
I have now tried the SPB Mobile Shell 3.0.1 Panel with this Rhodium Panel Manager. It doesn´t work and says "Your device is not supported". Exactly the same error message as with the older Blackstone Panel Manager.
The SPB Mobile Shell 2 Panel works perfect. I think this new Panel Manager is indeed the old Blackstone one repacked for Rhodium. The inability to run the new Mobile Shell 3.0.1 Panel strongly suggests it´s an old Panel Manager based on the R1xxx ROM series for the X1.
To be able to use newer Panels it´s important to release a new Rhodium Panel Manager based on the R3xxx series.
