Phone seems to be dead - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi
Ive just got my magician out of the cupboard after a year or so of not having used it. I changed phones around march 2008 when i kept getting bad signal problems (probably through dropping hte phone an awful lot) and a back cover that kept coming off (thus turning phone off and irritating the hell outta me!)
Anyway, i plugged her into the power but all i get is a red LED at the top of the handset (the one that flashes blue when bluetooth is on, for example!). The battery is in , as is the sim card and the back cover is in place.
The phone will not boot up. Ive tried pressing the reset button and things but still nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get into it? I think the storage card has my long lost Eddie Izzard TomTom voice and i want it out

Well, im a prat!
Turned out there wasnt enough power to get her going at first, needed a few minutes of charge, presumably to come out of the induced coma it had been in since March 08.

Screen corruption problem (screen goes white)

I have an o2 Exec and frequently have the problem that the screen goes white and I can't see anything. It tends to happen either when I reopen phone after making or receiving a call (I always have the screen facing in when taking or making calls), or when I open the screen to check a message. I get the feeling that it is linked to the phone app. Its done it since I had the phone, and upgrading the firmware hasn't affected it.
I have found that the best way to get it back is to remove the power and put it back in, or just connect it to power. but sometimes i can spend 10 minutes messing around before it comes back.
Has anyone else had this problem, or know what might be causing it? I don't have any extra software installed other than what it comes with.
Try using it without an SD card for a few days, my Wife had the same problem in her Wizard, turns out if she removes the SD card fault goes away. Regards
cpu
it happens to me with cpuxcsalar installed, removed it, all back in business.
do you have this soft installed?
Rip, I don't have any extra software installed which is what makes it so strange. Gooroo, yes I have a 1Gb SD card in, I'll see how I go with out it for a while. Its certainly something I never thought of. Its a big let down though if that is the culprit.
I'll update this after I've done some testing.
Thanks
I hope your SD is under warranty still, mind you they are getting really cheap now anyway. We only discovered the fault after getting the wifes wizard changed under warranty and then finding exactly the same problem with the new one too. Seemed to happen after the device had gone to sleep on its own, then when waking it up she would get a white screen. Most of the time it was battery out to get it back working again. If she pressed the power button to put it to sleep and then woke it up again it worked fine, and if she let the screen go off and then brought it back again before it had gone to suspend it was fine too. Really weird.
Anyway let us know how you get on
Well I've been running for a few days without my SDcard installed and I'm still getting the same problem. It seems to be definitely linked to the phone app. I usually have the Exec open on my desk, then if I make a call and close the lid to use it like a normal phone, when I open it again the screen is white. Normally, connecting the power, then disconecting it again kicks it back into life.
Very strange!
Sounds like you need a replacement under warranty. You have tried the latest rom, you are running next to nothing in the way of additional applications and you have removed your SD card. I guess you can only try a hardware reset to see if the problem is still there, as O2 are going to ask you to do it anyway. If that fails to sort it get it replaced under warranty.

No boot, no charge LED

Hey guys,
I've done some searching on this issue, yet I can't find much besides battery problems, or people who have contacted T Mobile and got warranty replacements. I've had some issues with my G1. Over the past month or two, my G1 has been rebooting repetitively, and this week it's gotten BAD. I would open a SMS, and then BAM. Start dialer, and then BAM. Reboot. Hell, even in the middle of a reboot it would reboot. Cool huh?
Anyways I called T-mobile customer support and they said I'm out of warranty. Great. Well, it still turns on, and it still operates when it's happy, so maybe I can work with this for a little bit... I did some searching, and some people attributed it to a software glitch in the gyroscope... Most people called T-mobile and got a warranty replacement. I'm over the one-year
I'm not about to say this is because I had CyanogenMod on it, because I would wipe, and put it back to an older version and it would still reboot... even in the SPL, it would reboot. But regardless, I decided to follow this how-to to unroot my G1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=491350
After step 6 (6. Push Alt+S on your G1 to flash it with update.zip), it came up with an error about the splash... "Cant store hboot image."
Well anyways, before I could do anything about it, guess what happened?
Yeah, it rebooted.
It came up with the unboxing logo at first, I didn't know what to do. I had forgotten what this meant, so I heled the power button down ( I realize this may have been the misteak I made, however there was nothing visual indicating anything was being done).
It shut down, the screen went blank, the charge LED remained on....
I pressed power.... Nothing.
I unplugged the phone, took out the battery.... put the battery back in... Nothing. The screen stayed black. Now my phone will not power up, and there is no LED charging indicator.
Anyways, I'm lost. This is my second G1. I'm slightly pissed and I feel bad for the T-Mobile rep on the other end of the call I just had, but, really, I can't spend $1200 a year on a slow phone.
Do any of you guys have any suggestions?
Home+power does nothing.
Camera+power does nothing.
Putting in the cable lights up no LEDs...
It is literally a brick. An unresponsive brick.
Well, I ended up taking the mainboard out of my old phone and putting it in this G1.... Everything should be back to normal however I'm still looking for responses as to what might be happening.

[Q] P3400i frozen

Hello all,
I have been using a P3400i for about two and a half years and it has been an absolute faithful. Somewhere along the line a friend convinced me to flash it and I'm running Win 6.5 now for the past 8 months or so.
Now the phone had been consuming more battery than usual but then that was expected. However something really weird happened today. I used the phone around 4 hours ago (a call) and around that time it had been acting funny- the power button wasn't responding (to send it to standby mode), some keys in the virtual keyboard weren't working etc. I was in the gym at the time so I thought I'll figure it out later.
Once I got home I tried to restart it and then something funny happened. After a couple of tries, I'm not getting any display, a red light in the earpiece is constantly on, and the answer/disconnect button is permanently backlight. I've attached a pic for reference.
Can anyone shed some light on this?? Thanks in advance.
P.S. The casing is a dopod, had changed it a while back...
just try it
hi dear friend
just remove your memory card and then try to restart it may be due virus your phone is facing problem to start so just try it i am not sure but it may work
bye tc

[Q] (Edited) Okay, so its not in APX Mode? Would like help recovering data

Hello, first let me apologize for making another thread on a possibly bricked tablet. Also I apologize if I didn't post this in the right place, being new and all. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to look at this.
My situation:
My tablet has been working fine until last night; it's been dropped once before from a substantial height (over 5 feet), and luckily only my screen cracked, which I replaced. This time however it fell about 2-3 feet from my bed, most likely landed on the power button side, and now it won't turn on.
The Power Light comes on
It vibrates
The backlight does NOT come on. No words. No logos. Nothing.
I tried plugging it into my computer but nothing happens. It's not rooted (as far as I know), and I don't think I had debugging on. It had Android 3.2.1 on it I believe; my computer is Win 7 64.
Edit: I was able to get another computer to recognize it, a Win 7 and 8. They both have it pop up as "Acer ICONIA TAB A500" and as a portable media device, but when I open it it says its Empty... no folders, nothing.
At this point I would just like to know if there is anyway to get the personal data off of it, there are a few documents that I had not backed up yet that I would really like, that were not on my external SD card. If its possible to get it working again that would be great too, but I've come to terms with the fact it might never. (I'm half tempted to strip it to the screen again and put it back, just to see if that might make it work...)
Edit 2 (sorry if anything sounds confusing): I don't know if this is helpful or not, but the tablet "sounds" like it goes to my lock screen (powers up, vibrates, wait a minute or two and then really softly vibrates again), although I still can't see anything. The power light then goes out, but if I put my ear to the open back I can "hear" it working. If I leave it alone and plugged in, the power light will flash from orange to white every couple of minutes (it will also do this unplugged). Also if I press the power button it will turn white, acting like its sleeping and I've woken it (this occurs whether plugged in or not), but I still have a black screen. Does this mean it might not be dead?
Can the screen be broken with no visible cracks or damage inside?
Another note, when I replaced my cracked screen when it fell those 5 feet about a year ago, I never changed the green piece (which I am assuming is the touch screen controller?) with the new one that came with the new screen+digitizer. Could that be acting up now?
I'll try and see if I can get my hands on a micro HDMI to test and see if it will show up on my TV/Computer. It should just be plug and go right? No setting that needs to be turned on?
Any help is greatly appreciated, and thank you for your time.

Bricked itself..

I am so upset right now. I have a history of bad luck happening to me and today is another case of that. I have been saving up for a car recently and I finally got one today! That's all my money gone. I got home, went to use my phone and it's not working. It won't charge (although gets hot when plugged in), not LEDs, nothing. Every time I'm starting to get my life on track something like this happens. PLEASE say there is a fix to this! I have no warranty anymore. Help! I have tried pressing power and volume up as well as holding power for over 10 seconds. It's not connecting to the PC either so not only have I lost a phone I have lost a years worth of memories in pictures which I should have backed up but there are some really special memories on there and now they're gone. Anyway way of at least getting my data back????
