Uploading GPS Info

Hi There
Ive tried searching high and low for this type of feature and I cannot find anything. Let me explain..
What I want to do is on my Pocket PC with a GPS unit, is basically have a program running that grabs the Long/Lat data from the GPS at a specified time interval (say every 60 mins) and uploads that to a website or FTP via GPRS.
What I plan to do on the website side of things is to have the website read from that data and load Google Maps to show where the person is!
Anyone already know a program to do this kind of thing?

I have made a program that will get the gps pos of a device and send it back to a pc via SMS it can send it to a server over gprs.

pjcltd is there any chance of a copy of the program.
Darthgus, hers a laptop solution, I am sure there is a pocket pc solution somewhere.

I have used it to get the location of an operator when tacking data. I have not tried to run a timer it get the data when a user clicks the button. You have to add the gps custom point.

Heh, thats exactly the sort of thing but with Pocket PC. I wanted to get the POS to a website, then use the API of Google maps to show the position.

Yea, Im not really wanting to run a program like that to do it, basically I just want something sitting in the background dropping the GPS point every x mins or x hrs type thing to a website/ftp.

We use this for our workers on the road. They send back positions every 10 seconds via their XDA & we track them on maps in the office.
However, it's part of a larger 2-way data app.

But I do know of someone who has something simillar, I'll get in touch...

ok i will post a program on here that will run for 15 days
before i do you must know that the program will work with any gps
ie com1 - com9
and it will send the pos to any sms number that you want
ok

Well i can point you in the right direction for code but i have spent a lot of hours on this project as we use it with our loneworkers
is its more of what you can do realy
but i will post it today

Cool will be good to have a look at, but not much use without some code or whatever as I dont want to send sms's but upload the data to a http/ftp site.

I look forward to testing this program. How do we get the unlimited version if we find it useful?

Very sory for the delay in posting the program i had to get the ok my Boss
i will be posting a 15 day trial
if you want a full version then we can sort that out later.
At the moment the program dose the foolowing
1 When you run the program it starts the GPS
You mush have a gps connected and working for this to work

For some reason my download crashes whenever I try to install it. It doesn't even open. I unziped the file and it's not running.

Did you open the unzipped file on a desktop PC? It has to be copied to Pocket PC and executed there!

Edit: okay, installed it. It looks really really good. I like it better than WIMP if the monitoring integration can be installed.
I have a few questions.
1) I entered +614XXXXXXXX as my number to call when the phone is stolen, but it does not accept it. Why is this so? What if a SIM card of another country is inserted when we travel?
2) Often the top taskbar disappear. Do you have this problem? I also find that I'm unable to minimise it or switch to other applications when used in conjunction with wktask.
3) How do we make it possible for the problem to survive a hard reset?
4) How about letting the seven of us have the GPS and monitoring integration also? Or at least the monitoring integration. I like your concept of monitoring very much. I have been using WIMP in the past with GPS, but I find the GPS location to be too rough to be useful. I think the monitoring concept gives us much better chance of recovering the phone than WIMP would allow.

Replace + with 00. Eg: 00614XXX Try it and let me known. It is the issue with some service providers who dont accept the format of message sent with certain parameters.

The application is made to take the full screen hiding the Start bar. This is only when you're in the Admin panel making some configurations. So for a few minutes, you can sacrifice Start ar ?
Or do you think the application doesnt bring back Start bar even after closing?

Depending on in which country the phone is stolen, the international prefix is different. But + is the universally acceptable prefix to replace all these prefix. That's why I thought it would be the correct way to set up the number.
BTW, I tried testing it. Unfortunately it does not seem to be sending out any SMS alert to the listed mobile phone number when I put in a SIM card which has not been added to the database yet. Are any of the other six users having this problem?
Also, when I tried to set up the customized text, the software abended with an error message saying "An unexpected error has occured in UTAv35.exe. Select Quite and then restart this program, or select Details for more informaiton" . When I select Details, I see the following information:

Data counter for internet connection?

Hi guys and gals!
First off just let me say what great help i have found through the members of this forum and i just wanted to say a collective thank you! to all the people involved in working on this phone.
My question would be if this phone has a data counter for INTERNET connections? Something that would measure upload and download and would help me estimate my costs. I have not been able to find it in the phone's original software. Has anyone developed such an application?

I tried Efficasoft GPRS traffic monitor (as I was used to on TyTN), but after each soft reset I lost the settings. Did it happen to any of you?
Had to switch to SPB Wireless monitor

As far as I know this happens, if the programm is unregistered. At least for me it was so.

Well, I did register it, but would not help either...

Pocket Islam on Touch HD

Does anyone know whether Pocket Islam is fully compatible with the Touch HD?

tried it a couple of weeks ago.
It all installs and works ok but I found it killed my phones battery overnight! I was well surprised how quickly my phones battery died from full.
I wanted it for the hadiths but as they are in arabic only I just uninstalled it

I've got it installed on my phone and it works well.
My battery life is almost 2 days (with push email, 4-5 call/day, internet browsing)
The app works well enough.
I just use it for the Quran and getting prayer times occasionally (no reminders set)

how do you change pages on quran in pocket islam ? i am used to dpad on my p3600 ?

I have been using this application for the past 2 years and must admit its fantastic.
I thought that version 8 (WM Touch Phone) had been released as per PocketGear, but I cannot find it anywhere. I tried to email the developers last week but my email got bounced back. Does anyone know anything about this?

Use the red up and down arrows on the bottom toolbar to go to the next and previous pages.
The left and right green arrows take you to the previous and next surahs.
Not quite as easy as the dpad but hey it works !

problem with .v8?
Hi,
Has anyone had problems with v8?
I installed and now my top and bottom bars have changed colour to a light grey and when i receive a message, it dos not display the number symbol. I hear the notification but no visual notification.
Any Ideas anyone?

battery depletion
I use pocket islam now for several years. Great program. I recently decided to activate the ezan. Until now I sileced it because sometimes it was not appropiate in a non muslim environment. I changed the ezan to somethinng more natural.
But now my batteries get depleted very fast. I sileced the ezan and the depletion problem was gone.
So it is a great program if you silence the ezan. Maybe on the next update the programmers will solve this problem.

If anyone is interested in only prayer times then there is a good app from islamicfinder. Its a java program and is fully customizable for different schools and calculation methods and many cities around the world. It works well with the Touch HD and doesn't drain any battery.

hadith software
does anyone know some hadith software? like amadsoft hadth that compatible with hd? or even another software which have more books of hadith?

Some word in recitation is missing.
Just want to ask if anybody also have same problem with me. When the program recite the quran, some words in certain surah is not recited wholelly. for example, when it recite surah al-ikhlas, the last word in the surah not be recited and stop before it. Do somebody have any solutions?

Outgoing call time

Hi ! Is there any way to view outgoing call time instead of ''all calls'' (call history/menu/call timers...) If not is there any 3d part program to install to do this job. Thanks in advance.

is there a way to check the total in/out timers? those that cannot be reset easily and that can survive the hard reboots and ROM updates?
I tried the mtty USB method, but it doesn't work, seems the 'rtask b' is not enabled on HardSPL_1.0

Bumping this thread.
I've tried CallStat, and the app is really great, but one thing bothers me: its extremly slow. When analyzing a contact i takes several minutes, and in the meentime the phone (SE X1) can not be used.
Anyone else that has experianced this, and even up, found a solution?
Or is there another app that does the same thing in a better manor?
