I like most am annoyed by the delay that happens when an incoming call occurs and the dialler takes an age to load before you can answer.
I was just wondering if there was a way to keep the dialler (or parts of it) resident in the memory right from startup in order to reduce the delay? Or if there was a dialler that already does this natively?
I'm currently using the Yota dialler (thanks NRGZ28) but this problem occurs with all the 3rd party diallers I've tried, and HTC's dialler is a major culprit!

Hi!
Is there some one that have the time and skills needed for a small applications development? The application I'm looking for is basically a small utility that can monitor incoming and outgoing calls, and automatically blank the screen when a call is picked up or a new call is started. Too often it happens that the ear touches the screen during a call and initiates all sorts of unwanted mess. I know that the PhoneAlarm utility has this functionality,
but unfortunately I don't need the rest of that package, which by the way has quite a large "footprint" in memory.
It is of course possible to press the power button manually to achieve the same effect, but it's kind of irritating to do that on every call.
Anyone that volunteer?
Regards,
PK
isnt it built-in w/ the phone ?????
S2U2 has a Blank-on-talk feature along with all its other greatness. Check it out. There is a thread for it on this forum.
Hi again guys,
i've another problem with S2U2 ver. 2.14.
When i received an incoming calls and i pushed green button on my screen S2U2 doesn't answer to call and it blocked my device.
At that time the only solution is to reset my device.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Alessandro
Try uninstalling s2u2 and see if it works, if so try installing another version of that app.
And donĀ“t forget to vote for Rhodium!
I had a similar problem. It didn't lock-up my phone, but when I hit the answer button, nothing would happen. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling, but no luck. I ended up turning off the caller ID in the S2U2 settings. Now, when I get a call, it opens up to the default caller screen. When the call is over, it locks the phone back.
i have a silmilary problem,
i have disable slide to answer
and now i think it's work
I use SlideToAnswer and it works great.
But, I disabled the 3rd party phone skin and changed the drawing method to Raw (or something similar).
Hello .
I have HTC TOUCH HD. Rom coocked (hannyTech's rom wm6.5)
My problem is that i have a delay when i have incoming call.
How do i fix it ?
thanks
there are 2 possible delays in an incoming call:
- the ringing delay
- or the phone is generally slow with an incoming call
the first thing is easily fixed. install hdtweak 0.54 from the themes and apps section of the blackstone forum. by default the ringtone has a delay of a few seconds, but in the app you can set it to ring immediately, when the incoming call is noticed.
if your phone is generally slow when a call comes in, that is fairly normal. windows mobile phones get "stressed", when a call comes in and suddenly the cpu and ram usage spikes, when there is a heavy rom installed or a lot of apps running in the background, it can become very slow. that is also, why the answer/ignore slider is very slow, while other sliders like s2u2 or quickshutdown are very fast. in that case all you can do is quit all apps, that you are not using and/or install a lighter rom. also, use the hardware keys to answer, instead of the slider.
Here's a peculiar issue and I'm trying to resolve it.
Whenever a call is made using CM10/CM9 the dialer automatically minimizes in background because Service Provider sends a message saying what discount is available on this call. Probably to show the message, dialer minimizes itself.
I have to go back to the notification drawer, select current call and then go back to the call after hitting okay at the message. This is very annoying, specially when speaker phone is not enabled and I'm unable to drag down the notification drawer because proximity sensor detects my hand too close to the display.
Point is this doesn't happen in stock ROMs, any of them be it ICS/GB. I tried replacing the dialer from stock but its integrated in CM10 framework thus replacing files doesn't help. I tried some dialer apps, they do work by not getting minimized but then I don't really like using them, CM10 dialer or stock dialer looks much better than custom ones.
Probably this issue doesn't happen to much or rather any fellow member here, but would appreciate some input that can help me fix the problem.
Since I upgraded my phone from Lollipop to Marshmallow (6.0.1, the last russian firmware), I've noticed that sometimes, applications get minimized automatically. Sometimes the "Recent apps" menu shows up, and sometimes the current app just disappears and the phone shows the phone screen.
It only happens in limited occasions, and almost always triggered by another action. Most commonly, when I try to videocall using skype or whatsapp, the videocall minimizes (but the app doesn't close, as I can continue with the call, but I can't see the other person, and sometimes they can't see me) when I receive some kind of notification. Some other times, but less frequently, the web browser (google chrome) minimizes when I receive a notification (email, whatsapp, etc.).
It is annoying, since I can't use my phone to make videocalls.
Since these are occasions where more RAM is used, it is likely that it is caused by how the phone manages the RAM. I have checked, and I usually have between 350-500MB of free ram (out of 1.8GB).
Is this a known issue? Is there any setting I can change to improve this situation?
PS: I just remembered, using GPS navigation apps is out of the question, since they minimize as soon as I receive any kind of notification.
