Xperia X2 Video on Youtube... - XPERIA X1 General

Hi, I find it strange that this isn't talked about on the X1 forum. Here is a video to an X2 being used:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk329CfRCzw
The little things we learn from the video:
Device Information
*Customization ID: 1215-1832
*Customization Version: R3A
*Content Version: PA10
*Software Language: English (United States)
Hardware
*CPU: Qualcomm Arm...
*Speed: 528 MHz
*RAM Size: 256 MB
*Flash Size: 512 MB
*Data Bus: 32 bits
*Bluetooth: Yes
*Storage Size: 141.75 MB
*Display Resolution: 480 x 800 wVGA
*Colors 65536
This phone might be rushed to launch early. I have a hunch that Sony has a surplus of unused processors and RAM and they might used 528 MHz on the X2.
On the other hand, they might upgrade the X2.
However, the Touch Pro2 was announced kind of late and launched really soon. We've all seen what happened to the Touch Pro series.......upgrades the shell and design but keeps the same hardware. I hope SE doesn't be a **** and do this to us.

Long time before announcement IMO.
So, hard to judge anything.

its an old video posted on another thread, supprised u didnt see it
the quality of this is appauling

The hardware is just for testing obviously. The only good thing here is that we can see how big the screen is.

Those specs sound exactly the same as the X1????

Yes. It's the old hardware in the new casing. It's just for troubleshooting the exterior.

HTC OMNI - first pictures...

Have a look:

can't WAIT!!!!
Cheers
Nice find!
But, it still looks like an unfinished design to me.
yeah, but release date was set for NOVEMBER 2007 (two o o seven)
Will see what will happen then- by I can't really wait
I can't read the site, but what is the difference between the coming HTC OMNI and the IMate Ultimate 7150: http://www.gsmarena.com/i_mate_ultimate_7150-1882.php
Or which is better? Hoping that both will come out this year...

For me, the main thing is "omni is htc innovation"
In French, I cannot read French.
Detailed Information on the HTC Omni

More details on the HTC Omni http://mobilitysite.com/2007/07/htc-omni-details-leaked/ The difference Between the HTC Omni & I-mate Ultimate 7150 is that the I-mate Ultimate 7150 is not made by HTC. I had emailed I-mate out of Dubai a few months ago on this question and that's what they replied back to me. The HTC Omni is the predecessor of the HTC Univerisal. By comparing the specifications of the two I would 100% pick the HTC Omni over the I-mate Ultimate 7150. I currently have a Qtek 9000 and am waiting for the HTC Omni once available to upgrade to this device. It is well worth the wait.
Am I the only one who thinks that the Omni's design totally sucks?...
I mean, come on guys, IMHO its plain ugly :s
Tech:
CPU: Samsung 400MHz
Screens: 4 inch, 800 x 480 (probably like EXEC so you can rotate it) + 2nd small on the front
Mem: 128 RAM, 256 disk mem
BT: 2.0
WiFi: 802.11g
Radio: GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA
They are not too sure if there will be GPS (Qualcomm?) or when PDA will be released. Probably November but we will see
Personaly I just can't wait!!!!!!!
(on the other hand I can't imagine 800x480. Which app will support this? I do have problems with VGA sometimes...
800 x 640 or 800 x 480?
edit: its is 800 x 480(not 800 x 640 as mentioned in the aforementioned post) See here

which processor
Which processor is better - the 400mhz sammy or the 520 mhz intel - cause i know mhz isnt everything - but it does seem to me like all these processors could do with a little more power

As far as I know .... there are no information about CPU jet.
So we should simply wait until someone leaks this info.
Speculation does not make any sense.
UPD: Looks like the Samsung 400Mhz can be true but I hope they will use the ~620Mhz CPU from Athena

Anyway, if there will be some kind of graphical accelerator then CPU can be slower/same speed.
We do need GPU!

I guess, there will be a GPU in it ... cause of the TV/VGA out
I also hope that the AUX display will realy be part of the device.

Micro SD is very disappointing, I don't understand why so many manufacturers of PDA-phones are using this when normal-SD is surely cheaper and can support 8GB+? Other than that, very impressive

I guess, this could be the same mafia methods ... they are doing with printers.
The Micro-SD drive could be mutch cheaper then a normal SD drive. So a hardware builder will select the cheaper one.
The only thing which worries me is LACK of official info/real pictures etc.
This French site is claiming that Omni should be available in November 2007...
Anyway, fingers crossed! There is nothing really good at the moment on the market.

Yeah... i just looked at the review and the length of it and assumed it to be in-depth. When i read it - after posting the link here - it wasn't much detailed or infact that useful. Further he used a proto too. (a close to the final one, but still a proto)

Well, they just didn't count RAM dedicated only for graphics, processor, etc. If you want to count it, then it's Xperia X1 512MB ROM / 384MB RAM and Touch Pro 512MB ROM / 288MB RAM.
Hmmm.........

Now that's still in the air and up for discussion.
er u know, I inquiried ATI for confirmation about the 3D chip, they still haven't replied yet; I did that because with I feel SE isn't really honest to us, they didn't even reconfirm about the much debated 256/384MB of RAM furthermore they never give any detail about the 3D chip, in fact the only statement about the 3D chip is that can be found from xperiancers which only stated about the 3D chip made by ATI, no further proof at all... suspicious...even more the slowness of the 3D effects for the panels when in rotation suggest that perhaps X1 doesn't even have 3D chip ; don't count the video performances because videos are 2D. But there are some videos that shown X1 playing 3D games smoothly so there are a probability that it really have 3D chip.
Now I just want a review from gsmarena!

Xperia Review by the Unoffical SE Blog - 384 MB RAM Confirmed...

Hi,
Finally a really in-depth review - really! And like i pointed in the title:
"The X1 comes with a total of 384 megabytes of RAM memory. Only 256 megabytes is visible in the system, but this is because these 256 megabytes is strictly for applications. At boot there’s about 152 megabytes free.
The remaining 128 megabytes of RAM memory is used for both the video graphics and CPU. According to the MSM7200A datasheet, the graphics part of the chipset (presumably the ATI Imageon 2300 or 2700G chip) is capable of delivering up to 4 million 3D triangles per second, and 133 million 3D textured pixels per second fill rate. Furthermore, it supports OpenGL ES - link that up with the large amount of dedicated video memory, and you’ve got an awesome power horse or gaming machine."

new news for me though. I know at the system memory it only shows 256MB of RAM, but I didn't know there's 128MB of hidden memory for GPU, etc. In that case, I wonder if it's the same for other HTC device like HTC Touch Pro, or is this an unique architecture for Xperia?
I did observed that the memory after bootup, is much more for Xperia than HTC Touch Pro, maybe that 128MB of hidden memory is making that difference.

Yes, it is new to me too as it only states that X1 has 256MB Ram so it has the extra of 128MB memory hidden, no wonder it is faster compared to my previous Touch Pro.
Good Job, SonyEricsson!

Sorry bro. Been out of the scene lately, and having seen this today was new to me.
That's no proof at all. We already knew that the Qualcomm chip has hardware acceleration capabilities. Even the Diamond and Touch Pro has it but there is a rumor that it isn't utilized because HTC didn't buy the license for it.
Until someone opens up the X1 and spots the exact 128MB memory chip (only the flash memory and the 256MB RAM chip have been spotted as of now) I won't believe anything. Information is rather dubious it needs to be cleared out by facts (and hardware pictures).
Also the source is rather biased too. The "unofficial SE Blog" as they call it, is SE friendly and will write anything will come to their mind to help SE image and sales. I've read the review and while I think it is overall detailed, on some points their objectivity is quite questionable.
Sounds good, but if Sony cant even get the freaking panels to work smoothly with low res screenshots, i doubt any other software will ever use this.
No game developer will limit his games to one phone, so they come up with rather simple games without 3d stuff...its not like with the iphone where millions of people have the same phone with the same hardware/software base...because of that, they have alot of great games that utilize the 3d hardware but i dont see that happening for any WinMo device.
There might an optimzed version of coreplayer or that PS1 Emu, well might.

damn true, we have nothing but words.
Also, think about it. A whopping 128MB VRAM for WVGA resolution? A desktop PC with 128MB VRAM on it's GPU could play full on 3D games at SXGA resolution easily. Doesn't sound logical to me at all if they put that much VRAM on this tiny device. Way too generous for HTC. 16MB or even 32MB sounds a lot more reasonable and realistic.
^ yep, I've also said that a few times here.....
so in the end I for one, can call SE is a liar here.

Htc Universal Successor?

I was browsing the web and I came across a phone that looks like it's the ideal successor of our old Universal. It's called the M.A.G.I.C and has some really cool specs :
WM6.1
3.5 VGA + 2.8 VGA screens
8GB SSD Storage
MARVELL PXA 270 624 MHZ
MARVELL Graphics Accelerator
TV output
128mb Ram/Rom
Integrated GPS Receiver/FM Tuner
Biometric Sensor for data protection
Check it at their website : http://www.advancetc.com/
Youtube video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpAy9_3LcJA
Despite its big size(which I don't mind), it seems it is the perfect form factor for a new advance 'Universal' that most of us has been waiting for. What do you think about it?
According to what I've read on other sites, it seems that it's already on sale in asian/middle-east countries - can anyone confirm this?
Please move thread
Thanks for your contribution

Android on T3238+ clone

Hi everybody,
is it possible to install Android on my T3238+ clone running WM:
These are the specs:
CPU Marvell PXA300 624MHz
ROM 256 MB
RAM 128 MB
Display 240x320 QVGA 65536 colors
Bluetooth 2.0
WI-FI B/G
Internal GPS
The hw is mostly the same as the Sciphone N19/N21
I've also seen that there is a dual boot application to choose which OS boot.
Waiting some response...
Thanks in advance

Not yet, coz each design house uses different LCD/Camera/TP...etc... Andriod will not work even on a very small change! I am quite familiar with 3238+, I will try to post it if they have the tool and image ready!

Got some not so good news for u! I asked the guy who assembly the T3238+ yesterday, and he told me that unless he got an order for more than 1000pcs....otherwise he won't spend effort to make it work on 3238+. There will be a lot of new models comming out after CNY(Chinese new year), and price will be around USD120-140. Keep u inform then! Right now there is a clone(1:1) HERO that runs on WM6.5 and track ball. The tooling is really nice....and more important is that I can provide u technical support on this model...... lol Cheers!
Hero clone
How can I buy one of the Hero clones from you?
