Hi there,
Since the arrival of my Rhodium yesterday I´m looking for a new way of managing ringtones.
With my Kaiser, I use Inesoft´s Phone 4, which enables me to assign any ringtone to any category. Since WIndows Mobile syncs categories with Outlook, managing contacts into categories and assigning them ringtones used to be so easy. Problem is, Phone 4 only works if the caller ID function si ENABLED, and I don´t want to use it with Rhodium.
Soooo... what apps around there you guys are using to manage and assign ringtones to categories ? Ringo ? Any other options ?
Thanks in advance...
So, if caller ID is not ENABLED, how would the software, or even phone itself know what number is calling you (to pick the right ringtone for the contact)?

Well, I don´t see that as a problem, there are lots of apps that work in the background (eg. gyrator for example, ActiveSync, PhotoContacts Pro, etc.).

How do you define Caller ID not Enabled? If your SIM card caller ID service is not enabled, then you will not get caller ID therefore no software can pick the correct ringtone.
err... which do you mean...
1. Caller ID application is not running
2. Caller ID not Enable (turn off reciving caller ID information from your TelCo)
3. Caller ID application is running in the background
???
I think he meant for caller id function in Inesoft to which it will override the photo id of the default Rhodium with Inesoft big photo id if you want to use the group/categories ringtone.
I use ringo mobile to enable the group/categories ringtone with good result and yet the default photo id screen of Rhodium is working perfectly.

Hi. After installing the latest firmware and root my caller id isnt working properly.
Before the update. When i got a call it only shown the caller number i.e.: 85360000 (brazil pattern). Now it shows area code! This is bad because caller id doesnt recognise the number unless i edit all of my 400 contacts.
The problem is even worst on sms because it is adding up not only the area code but the country code. Something like +551183003200
Thats really annoying.
Does anyone know a fix or software that can make the caller id translate only the 8 last numbers for cross_matching with my contacts?
Thanks in advance

Is there a way to make the caller id/sms id recognize only the last 10 digits or something like that??
I believe others have mentioned this, but I haven't seen a fix/thread for it..
On occasion, my tab will display the previous callers info for the caller ID of a new incoming call. Any thoughts on how to fix?
Sidenote: the bluetooth handset displays the correct caller ID phone number.

dear all
how to enable or disable showing caller id when make calls , any solve for this
I use Showcaller and I like it a lot. Search the Google Play Store for it. Lightweight and easy to use. App allows you to see who's calling even if you don't have the persons number saved. It also marks spam calls which I love.
I'm looking for an app to know who the people calling me are. I've tried a ton of free apps, and websites.
Is there any app, or website that you can recommend?
I'm hoping to achieve this without a continual fee. A one time expenditure is doable.
I've found true caller to be the best one so far.

I've tried that one before, and again just now to be sure; it couldn't figure out these mystery numbers.
Thanks for the recommendation.
How these apps work?
About true caller : Firstly, This app basically uploads data from the users. Which means if you save a particular number with a particular name that name uploads to the application data center and after that when someone tries to find the data regarding that user the application shows the saved name. Secondly, if you create your own profile on this application then the application shows the name which you have typed in.
The knowledge I have about this type of apps is that they rely on users data for the names. So basically if I get a new number and call someone then there is no such app that can guess my name until someone saves it and uploads it to a particular application.
Finally, I would say since true caller is the most used application, the data uploaded to it is also vast so it has more data than any other caller ID apps.
