I've been told that nothing i do will enable my GPS because it was flashed wrong

I will post you a nice tutorial tomorrow for the GPS and if you PM or post your email I will send you one of my cricket custom ROMS for the touch.

cricket ROM and tutorial
I have included a custom ROM in this tutorial
1st off credit is due to those that wrote these programs I only take credit for putting this all together.
#1 use msl grabber to get the msl/spc code found here
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43560
install via activesync or sd card and run on ppc.
#2 unlock with the 2.31 unlocker listed here
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370
#3 flash this sprint 6.1 ROM to update radio "WARNING DO NOT LET CUSTOMIZATION RUN" SOFT RESET WHEN IT SAYS AUTO CUSTUMIZATION IN 3 SECONDS. This is for GPS1 to work.
http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownloa...cat=2&dl_id=66
To do this connect USB to computer then Press power camera and Reset to get to bootloader red green yellow screen and connect to cable then run the exe file. DO NOT LET CUSTOMIZATION RUN SOFT RESET WHEN IT SAYS CUSTOMIZE IN 3 SECONDS.
#4 Go to the following and download from windows drivers and unlocking tools
http://www.4shared.com/dir/13898363/...4/sharing.html
QPST
windows htc driver
activesync4.5
Ryanmogul diagnostics shortcuts
download the following
http://www.4shared.com/file/10597370...HMregedit.html
http://www.4shared.com/file/94425441...t5_0_31_7.html
Install Ryans diagnostics on ppc
Install QPST on computer
Install htc drivers on computer
Put phone into diag mode & connect to computer. computer should connect and find new device
run QPST configururation and add new port till you find your phone.
Now in QPST run from top menu start clients service programing.
Select phone
Read from phone imput spc/msl code from the grabber.
Then enter 000000 in the service programing field.
Write to phone
now while in QPST lets get your GPSone ste up for cricket.
Go to the GPS1 tab and uncheck all the boxes then recheck them.
then enter the following
pde ip address 117.29.223.11
pde port # 8080
pde transport IP
Position calculation mobile
Write to phone
close out
I would recommend now to flash a custom ROM here is a link to one of mine. http://www.4shared.com/file/135174580/27254c16/VOGUIMG.htmlinstall on a FAT32 formated 2gig or less msd card and rename to VOGUIMG.NBH THEN INSERT CARD AND PUT PHONE INTO BOOT LOADER AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS.
You will need a cricket PRL to load through PST setting.
then go to this thread it will help you set up your pst setting correctly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=492824 *NOTE* In some cricket markets you will need to change from EVRC to VOICE 13K to make outgoing calls. YOU CAN ALSO DOWNLOAD THE MMS CAB FROM HERE and then
Install the cricketwapmms cab
Do not try to open a data connection untill you have cricket service on the phone.
To authinticate your user name 10digit#@mycricket.com
you must have service.
Just a couple notes to have Email and push services work you MUST have the $15.00 HTML plan on your account and your phone must be listed in the system as a QA4 Evoke.
GPS may Require priming unless you use Ryans Googlemaps.cab
Credits go to ImCokeMaN for the unlocker and his great tutorial
and Ryanmogul6800 on XDA for his great software and his perfect PST setting.
Please let me know if this helped any or if I can be of any further assistance.

is Destinator 3.075 on Jasjar possible?

Has anyone managed to install Destinator 3.075 on Jasjar
Yes, try searching and you'll find your answers!
1. Copy across the "DestinatorApps" directory to the PPC manually using active sync instead of using the installer
2. Copy the "DestDll.dll" into the windows directory of the PPC manually using active sync
Now you have destator installed (almost) the DestDll.dll also needs to be registered!
3. to register the dll I used "regsvr_arm.exe". just copy it onto the device, and run then select the "DestDll.dll" to register it.
4. Run Destinator and active it with you licence code as you would have previously
i had problems with connecting the com ports on destinator....so i just followed these steps:
First you've got to pair your GPS.
Then go to the "COM" tab in the bluetooth manager
Add a new outgoing port with the GPS as device (use a free com port usually try every single port until it accepts it)
And then do this:
5. Copy the "DestinatorApps/Destinator/Destinator.ini" to your desktop
6. Open this in a hex editor and change where it says C.O.M.6 to the com port of your gps. Mine was Com4 so I just changed
the 6 to a 4.
7. Copy the "Destinator.ini" file back onto the PPC
steps 5-7 i dont know if this is necessary coz after i did these steps, i closed the destinator program and then ran it and the "GPS was found automatically"....but when u go to the gps settings on the destinator program its on COM 1....and COM 4 was not on the list......but i didnt bother trying to set it up as per instructions coz its already working for me......just another note, if u turn off your gps receiver while the destinator program is running and then turn on the receiver again ur not going to be able to connect to a gps satellite etc......u have to actually close the destinator program and start it again and it will again automatically connect ur gps......its a bit complicated trying to follow the instructions......but if u follow it properly it will work.......well it worked on my jasjar as well as my XDA II with WM2003SE.....good luck
yes, thanks hadn't thought of that....
of coarse I have tried searching, I have spent 3 hours doing so ... I have found lots of references especially to a post by believer... haven't as yet found the post which gives the actual full answer ...
found one which gave the ini mod for getting around the os check
-------
if anyone else is looking for answers that part is:
modify the [Platforms] section of C:\DestinatorApps\Installer\Console\Default.ini
add the line
P2577V351=ARM
-------
what I haven't found is the issue of the dll being registered.
Now that you have wasted everybodies time and had me write all of this, are you likely to be helpful and provide a link, (as you seem to know where it is) or are you more a smartass without a clue than a geovass.
Thank you irv777 nice to see someone with intelligence

Destinator on JasJar and regsvr_arm.exe
Can anybody please point me in the right direction as to find regsvr_arm.exe. I have followed all the directions so far and when I try run destinator I get a Destinator object creation error. The only thing I havn't done is the register bit, please.
here you go
Destinator turns off after some minutes
First of all, thank you everybody who gave instructions for the installation, of the Destinator specially for irv777. I followed the irv777 instructions and I could install the Destinator and configure the GPS perfectly. But I could notice that after using some minutes the Destinator, the screen of my Pocket PC turned off and when I turned it on again (using the light button), the GPS communication was lost because the GPS COM Port was changed. Does anybody have the same problem? Does anyone have any idea of what is happening in my case? I could realize that when I open the registry on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Apps/DestinatorApps of my Pocket PC it is different from the registry of the Pocket PC of my friend who installed the Destinator using the custom metodology (he doesn't have WM5). Is it the cause of that problem? If it is the cause how can I fix it? I don't know how to edit registry.
I havn't found any problems with it on mine. a possible work around for you might be to change the power and light settings so they don't turn off when you are using destinator.....
;-)
good luck
obviously i am doing something wrong here....
copy the destinator apps were in the ppc? i dont have enough memory eventhough my exec is recently formated (ppc 32mb free/destinator apps 36mb).
anybody?
edit: please mates.... i am leaving for a road trip in ten days and i could realy use a gps

2. copy all files (140MB) of them to the storage card
3. were trying to run ...\ARM\Independent\DestinatorApps\Destinator\Destinator.exe and got the error message described in the discussion
4. registered the dll in the windows directory...

Verizon XV6800 Tethering

I have a Verizon XV6800 with the MR1 upgrade and I've been desperately trying to get ICS to work on it. I have honestly tried searching this site, but I can't find anything recent to help me. Could someone please tell me how to get my phone up and working with tethering without having to install a DCD rom? Thanks!
PDANet works fine with MR1.
Here are the directions I found some time ago
1. Make the following registry changes:
HKLM\Software\OEM\WMODEM
add DWORD "CheckProfile"=0
set DWORD "Multi-NAI"=0
set DWORD "WModemDUN"=0
2. Start Modem Link (Open then select "Start" from the menu) with data disconnected and USB unplugged.
3. Connect USB. Windows will automatically download and install the appropriate drivers (you may have to click through some UAC prompts first to confirm).
4. Set up a new dialup connection using HTC USB Modem. Number is #777, user name is your phone number, and password is "vzw" without the quotes.
tethering no long works
The instructions in the thread above no longer work, you are brought to a VZ website asking to add the Mobile Broadband Connect subscription for $15.00/month. Is this the only way to use USB or Bluetooth tethering?
Thanks in advance

Problem to log on a specific wifi network

Hi everybody! I've searched for a problem like mine here but I didn't find it, so I'm openning a new thread. I hope it's ok to do that!
I'm having some trouble trying to connect to the wifi network at the hospital I work. I tried to follow the intructions they gave, but these instructions are for desktop computers and notebooks and they have steps that I don't know how to follow in my blackstone. The instructions are the following (for windows XP):
-add a new network with the name: wifiuel
-choose WPA2 autentication
-choose AES cryptography
-choose PEAP access, go to properties and uncheck all options. Also, at autentication method EAP-MSCHAPv2, click on configure and uncheck the option to use the logon's name and password automaticly.
There are a few more steps, but from this last one I can´t go on. When I tap on the properties buton on my blackstone, I get the following warning: "Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you."
In case you just didn't understand the steps because of my poor english, here´s a link to them, but this link is for the windows vista configuration (I chose it because it is mainly in english and it has many screenshots, so I think all of you can understand it): http://www.uel.br/ati/suporte/pages/configuracao-wifi-uel/windows-vista-us.php
Any ideas of how I can solve this problem?
I'm runnig Dutty's Leo Holy Grail R0 rom, with WM6.5 and I can log on just fine in other networks.
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi,
just trying to help u.
in your case, maybe you need some sort of certificate like you stated above. Go ask your IT service/help desk on where you can get one.
Or maybe you need to register your device (WLAN Mac address or you need to use fix IP). For this, you also need to ask help from your IT service to register your device to their list, so that u can connect to their wifi network.
Not much help, but u can try them
Oh, thanks, I was going to do that anyway, but I though someone here could help me or indicate some wifi utility that could handle those steps to configure my network.
Well, thanks for your attention!
Moved as not software release...
Hey, I've got some news
I have some new facts to tell you guys and see if you can help me. First, I discovered that when I just ignore the warning that I get when I click on properties, I get another message saying that the server certificate is issued by an unknown autority and it couldn't be validated. Then I finally talked to the support staff at the hospital and they said that they don't use any certificates at all. No personal nor server certificates are needed. So I guess that the problem is with Windows Mobile, which is asking for certificates when they're not needed.
Is there any way to command WM to not ask for a certificate when logging on a particular network, because I believe this could be the solution for my problem!
Thanks in advance!!!

How to? Fascinate Diag mode (QPST/QXDM/CDMA Workshop)

Does anyone know information about how to connect the Samsung Fascinate as Diag Mode driver? ie: this type of connection needed for QPST/QXDM/CDMA Workshop.
I tried 'debugging mode' enabled from the settings in the Applications, but it didn't create any new port that would recognize for my phone.
The Epic solution is pretty strait forward
Install USB Drivers:
32 Bit or 64 Bit
Put phone into DIAG mode:
Dial ##8778#
Select UART = Modem, USB = Modem.
Click to collapse
This doesn't seem to work on Fascinate though.
Go to Settings - Wireless Networks - Click to Dialup Networking this will also put it in Dialup mode

wow man, thanks a lot that worked.
Remember to put it Again Dialup Networking off
Thank you for the steps. I was also able to get the phone to be read by QPST and CDMA Workshop. The odd thing is that when I tried to read the phone again the next day, none of the software will read the phone. Interestingly, I can see the COM port and the Modem port in the Device Manager, but the software refuses to read the phone. I am wondering if I accidentally changed one of the settings to turn it into UART or something to this effect, but the code that I found for this (##UPST#) does not work on the phone, even with hidden menu enabled. Any suggestions, currently I am stuck with a phone that can only do voice and text, no 3G? Thank you in advance!
You could try Diag mode

QPST sees it, but nothing is editable, in Dial-Up mode?
Thank you for your response! I tried that, it took me to the menu, plugged the phone to the PC, Device Manager shows Samsung Diagnostic Port, I use CDMA Workshop to try to at least read the phone. I connect to the correct COM port, but CDMAWS fails in reading it. I don't get it, it used to work fine with almost the exact same setup. I uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled them, same thing. Wiped the phone, same thing. Kind of frustrating. The only resort I have now is to maybe just get it fully flashed to stock so that I can start from scratch again. Odd, I have never had a phone that was giving me a COM port that phone software consistently fails to read, especially when it worked before. lol. Any assistance with anything else I may try would be greatly appreciated.

Bringing this issue up.... I cannot get it to work. I've read tons of threads and everyone says go to Device Manager and click Ports and then change the port on the Samsung to port 1 and it will show up blah blah Blah.... there is no list that says "Ports" in Device Manager. I have this DialUpNetworking thing checked and debug mode and the port1 shows up in QPST but it says "No Phone". And yes all drivers are installed.

That doesn't do jack. It just lets me input the numbers and when I press the last #, all the numbers vanish. I need this to work or I have to get a different Phone.

No, I know exactly what he's doing. The phone needs to be in network dial up mode. But for qpst to reckognize it, he needs to add the com.
I found that only the .323 version of qpst worked for me. Also there is the *229 (i think) will reprogram those settings you may have messed up, maybe try that?

323 works for basic flash, however if he's trying to get ppp configs setup for 3g and what not, he will need build 215. 323 will always revert to the original settings. If he's just trying to flash the prl, then it's no big deal. If he's trying to flash over to a different carrier, then it'll revert to vrz settings.

Your computer has to see the phone as a modem instead of a usb disk. Dial ##8778# and it should bring up a menu that allows you to change these settings. You can see which port the phone is registered under in device mgr. under COM and then input it manually, or you can have QPST find it if you uncheck the option to only look for serial ports on the add new port popup menu. Not sure if this works with Virgin Mobile rom.
I just downloaded the driver for my Intercept and it slved te problem. You can get it on the Samsung website then go to "Support" then just find your device and download the driver.
