Hello to all,
sorry I am new, and I don't speak English.
My hermes does not turn on due to a change of the LCD screen and housing.
The LED located at the top left is red when the device is connected to the usb or pc.
[/translation]

RED LED means the battery is not charging.
Possibly caused by a battery connector problem OR one of the flexi cables is not connected properly. Check all the internal connectors again.
Mike
PS. I hope you remembered to move the screen orientation magnet from the old casing to the new one! NOT that this is your main problem)

thanks Mike

GPS Performances

just wondering how does your HD work when it comes to navigation?
i tested my HD few days ago and i was very dissapointed. it takes a lot of time to find some satelites and if i am in the car it can keep up to the speed.
actually when i'm driving in the city i can't get any sattelites. the connection is very poor and my iGO8 doesn't show anything.
how is it for you? os this device a real GPS device?
is the GPS antenna very low quality or not powerful enough?
thanks in advanced for your answers!
works fine for me mate, TT is a bit laggy, but igo8 and memory map work fine,
the first time it connects to the GPS system it can take a wee while but usually that clears up and only takes a few seconds, since GPS is Line of sight dependent perhaps something is in the way, which may include bad upper atmosphere or crap weather, trees, buildings, mountains etc
Hope this will be helpfull
I have no problem with GPS since i desactive assisted GPS in HD Tweak.
Do u have the same problem with navigon or Tomtom ?

oh yeah, need to turn that rubbish off too!
Keep updated the GPS Quick Fix. I get a satellite connection within 10 seconds in TomTom.
Sometimes gps blinking for few minutes but he is really fast most of the time.
As others said, you must download quickgps data and disable A-gps option (with HD tweak or other app).
I'm also in France (in same town than you ) and the signal is always clear...
Regards
cordialement
hmm...wierd, i also have assisted GPS turned off.
actually it was never turned on.
and still my device doesn't work very well as a GPS device.
maybe it's just my device that has a faulty antenna...
thanks for your answers!
hi,
my gps works for one week very well, fast fixes and good connection... settings: gps programmconnection - com4, hardware - nothing at 4800 baudrate
but once a day, i cant get a fix. after calling htc servicecenter, i changed my setting to com9 (programm) and my gps is fixing very fast (8 - 10 sats), its better before...
maybe, hope i can help you...

Perhaps it is not the place ...... or perhaps not so ....
Let me know if you can use the diamond as a gps antenna with a laptop. I have several prog nautical navigation on PC and it would be very convenient to use the mobile phone as an antenna instead of having to go on behind the antenna. If so, tell me you know how to configure it as I have done countless attempts without getting anything ......
grazie

I did not just try without understanding your question.
This indeed allows you to connect your Diamond via USB to your laptop and get the GPS signal using the Diamond GPS antenna.
GPS2Blue goes on yout Diamond and can divert the GPS signal via BlueTooth or via TCP/IP over USB from your Diamond to your laptop. You need to choose TCP/IP if you want to use USB cable.
Then, you run HW VSP on your laptop to create a virtual port on the laptop.
Then, use that virtual port (COM whatever) on the laptop GPS program to use the GPS signal from the Diamond on the laptop.
Isn't this what you asked for?
Maybe you should have read the link I posted, instead of just going to conclusions by reading the name of it "GPS2BLUE", thinking it must use bluetooth. In fact, it can use bluetooth, but also USB connection just fine.
Tested myself.
Just follow litterally the instructions on the link i posted and you will be good to go.

Did you ever tried to read the answer you have already got?
Do you realize that your way of pretending an answer may upset most of the member of this forum?
Did you read what GPSBlue does?
This GPS-PDA utility has several features. It transforms your PocketPC into an external bluetooth GPS receiver, allowing you to use it with your laptop PC or any other device which can use a bluetooth GPS. Since version 1.4, GPS2Blue also allows to redirect GPS data to a TCP/IP port. It can also log to a file the data received from the GPS. Another feature is the PDA clock adjustment based on the precise GPS satellites clock. Finally, for Tomtom 5 (or 6) users, you can create a new POI from coordinates.
