Samsung Omnia

hi everyone. i like gadgets... who doesnt. i dont like them for their technicalities, some people do though. i like them for the way the look and feel etc. some of you can call me a poser!
anyway, i have the samsung omnia and i really like the black and silver theme that a few folk were talking about. it looks great. however, i understand zilch of what is being said about how to get it to work.
can someone be ever so kind and post a step by step guide on how to get this done? would really appreciate it.
also...if i ever decide to use the gps navigation thing, will i be charged for it?
im with voda and get all gprs data free, i know thats totally diff, but as i said before - im totally daft.

Xda god bless 'em, are a HTC only forums, and although the hacking and dev forum is a good read they are not really in the Samsung fan club...

As already stated this is HTC land and much as I would like to help I have a HTC not an Omnia and dont have a clue.

Its free software that works on both platforms and lets you easily change skins.
It works great but you have to buy SPB Mobile Shell that it works with but you can get a 15 day trial for free. Its well worth a look if you dont want to learn to much and want to try loads of skins.

Can WinMo be flashed onto the Dream (G1)

I was given a TMobile G1. I really like the hardware of the phone; however, I detest the Andriod OS. (I know everyone LOVES it, but I'm not among that crowd) My Main phone is a Kaiser. (Which I have a long running Love / Hate Relationship with) I need Windows Mobile, but I love the G1's hardware layout.
Is there a ROM out there (or is someone developing one) that will let me flash Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro onto the G1 instead of this awful cartoonish OS?

Android is the future anyway, if you don't like it as-is just stick with the Kaiser. Winmo won't support the capacitive screen anyway.

Neoobs, I've been a member of this forum for as long as you. I just don't go around flaming people for posting a simple question. And since I was doing so FROM my Kaiser while on a SLOW GPRS Connection, searching the site wasn't really an option.
It was a valid question. Yes, I have since searched and found the other posts.
So in short, BACK OFF! It's people like you that make this place less and less friendly every day.

If you have been watching these forums your first post is identical to many others that were started by trollers. I don't get your logic and the reasoning behind it. You feel special because your browsing these forums on a phone on a slow dial up speed connection? So that means you can post and ask for help instead of search?
Maybe if you had posted around a couple times you wouldn't be seen as a troller. It is people like you that make developers want to stop helping those who indeed know how to search and use the search function.
In short, don't put yourself on that pedestal just because your too lazy to do the actual work.

I NEED your comments on the following:
A Website where to share HD2 (720p) Media such as movies, TV shows etc.
A Website where to get the latest apps and games for HD2 (wvga compatible) directly.
A Website Where to get the latest news for HD2 Top downloaded Rom's, Android and WM7 Hacking & Development.
I often find myself visiting around 12 different websites
using opera mobile, opera mini, IE & skyfire (some page render better with diff browsers)
for downloading my mobile ready multimedia and the latest Rom's, apps among other things.
what I'm trying to to do here is to build a mobile site for HD2 users to get everything you need
for the HD2 (something like a one stop shop) in one place.
FOLLOWING THE FORUM RULES
Please Let me know what would you guys like to see in such a site, would you like to have direct downloads or streaming multimedia also what is a good domain name? or if there are other similar mobile friendly sites that you know, leave me comments with a link or just PM me. [/CENTER]

yea that would be great, as far as the movies i think we would have to keep it legal which im not sure how it works considering that sharing them online would be illegal. But to give a better mobile version of the forums would be great as well as a more unified app store!

that would be awesome. I'm tired of going to so many different sites looking for apps and media and whatnot. that was one of the things I loved about my G1, just about everything I needed was in the market. this its my first wm phone and its kinda driving me nuts. between this forum and the htchd2forum.com and the tmo forum, and then all the different app websites, its nuts. I'm still pretty new to my hd2, less than a month, but most of the mods I get are from this forum here.oh and direct downloads would be perfect

For the love of God, please do not make any more HC threads.
The Nook Color has a very ghetto-rigged version of HC that barely works. We don't have it because the AOSP hasn't been released and the boot.img hasn't been grabbed from the Xoom (more important than the system dump). Another issue is Nvidia hasn't released the Tegra 2 proprietary libraries.

This is adaway with more host files. The EXACT same. You could have better used your "skills" to help further adaway instead of a whole "new" copycat.

First, I've been developing on Android since donut so slow your role bud. Secondly, this exact bs can be done within a few hours. This is NOT a great thing, it's a rip-off of adaway with more host files added. If you had any idea what you're talking about then you'd easily see it. I can't stand frauds like these so called "developers" that add nothing to the community.

So, merging hosts isn't something, really? Converting Non-Hosts to Hosts, isn't really something? Removing dead/inactive domains to make it more compact, really isn't something? Trying to make a better open internet, by blocking all the annoyances out there, isn't anything good? Really? And, you can do this in hours? Wow! You really are great at this.
But we aren't, that's why we are trying to be better. You could just avoid us. You don't fit here posting, that you are great!
