Has anyone tried fitting the Diamond battery and battery cover onto the Raphael? If so how much size did you save, and could you post some pics showing off the slimmer width?
the camera part of the phone is as wide as it is. A new battery or cover wont reduce that. The TP cant be made smaller.
Haha yeah, the North American casing of the Diamond is all that's thicker because of the battery cover, you can slim down with that and a smaller battery if you want. As for the Touch Pro, it has something that makes it a tad bit thicker than the Diamond... A full keyboard. :O

That's too bad, I was really hopiing the smaller diamond battery and battery cover could shave some of the Touch Pro's fat.
I'm up for an upgrade on my ATT account, and I really can't figure out whether to upgrade to the Touch Pro and sell my Touch Chruise for a small profit or to just sell the Touch Pro for a huge profit. Clearly the TP is the better device, but it isn't a leaps and bounds upgrade, with the keyboard being the only real substantiative upgrade. If the Touch Pro had a larger screen like the X1 or was as slim or slimmer than my Touch Crusie, this would be such an easier decision...
Why not sell both and get a Diamond? It does most of what the Pro does, and it's smaller than the Cruise.

Because the Diamond doesn't have an SD slot. I use my phone as my mp3 player, and I honestly need over 16GB to be able to fit everything I want. I get annoyed at the limited storage on my 8GB card as it is.

I see, for some people 4 GB just isn't enough, and I'm also one of them, the lack of a card slot is a very serious drawback.
Just received a brand new Fuze that I got through the BestBuyOutlet to replace a stolen Tilt. Hasn't left the house yet - no screen protector or case - on order. Overpaid but it was new (sealed) not refurbished. So far - its been only a day and I love it - although I miss the scroll wheel. Build quality seems much better although I'm a little concerned about the durability of the dPad. Screen quality is WAY superior.
Need a new mSD card and was wondering if anyone has benchmarked any difference between a Class 2/4/6 4 or 8 GB card. Any recommendations?
Did anyone see the new toshiba thrive yet? Sure, it's got nice features, but it's thicker and heavier than the gtab. Remember all those whines about how humongous and heavy the gtab was? Some people even described it as weighing a ton. Well, how on Earth are the going to survive with the thrive? LOL
I have one. Bought one Sunday as an upgrade to the gTab for me and handed off the gTab to my wife.
And overall, it is an upgrade. Honeycomb stock out of the box. Screen is much better, no problems with viewing angles. It weighs more and is slightly larger, but I don't notice. And with the weight and the textured back, it is actually easier to hold onto than the gTab.
Also, GPS, full size SD, user replaceable battery, and rear camera...all big upgrades over the gTab. Not as much modding yet, and the bootloader is locked, but it's coming.
The few negatives over the gTab: price (obviously), the charging cable is a laptop-like brick, and the SD card fits in the top and sticks out slightly (vs being tucked away in the gTab). Volume and portrait are the reverse...not so much a negative, but having to get used to.
I'm all for more tegra 2-based tablets on the market; I doubt I'll buy one as my gTab does what I need after some fiddling, but if someone just wants something that works out of the box (and has good specs for a reasonable price), the Thrive looks like a decent option. Then again, so is the eeePad.
If I can sell enough crap on craigslist Im just going to buy an ipad2. I dont care what my wife says. She can wait for her damn diamond ear rings! Google OS = Fail in my eyes. I was hopeful, i waited, and with no out reach to the people who asked for help. They have failed us. With only a couple of months away, iOS5 is looking mighty fine. And believe me, its a sad day when I buy an Apple product. 20 year hater.....soon to be lover.

Here's my take on apple vs google vs microsoft.
I love apple. I highly recommend it to everyone. I absolutely love the fact that they make their software with dummies in mind. Speaking as the techie that's been helping dummies for years, it is at times frustrating. I'm certainly glad there's a company out there that makes all their softwares with dummies in mind.
The only reason I don't use apple products is I want to keep myself on my toes. I don't want to ever become lazy minded. I want to constantly force myself to learn new things. This is why I regularly purposely do dumb things to my gadgets to replicate people's problems.
I say go for the ipad. It is a great product. I've used it before. I absolutely love it. You'll have a great time with it.
The Thrive looks great. The inclusion of a full size SD Card slot seems so obvious for a device this size. It frustrates me to no end that the Gtab requires a micro SD Card, which results in more expensive storage for slower throughput. A 32GB Class 10 SD card is $50 compared to the $80 Class 4 Micro SD equivalent. When I get my quad core tablet a year from now there better be a SD Card port.

There is a microSD slot and USB port on the left side under the cover right below the power button.
I just picked up a thrive and i think it is Awesome!! had a asus eepad and went through three of them because of screen bleed. the thrive is awesome full usb, HDMI, and sdcard the docks are dirt keep. battery backs comes in different colors. the asus doesn't compare in my book neither does the g-tablet. it was my first tablet and the viewing area sucked.

Its a nice tablet.
I got to check it out the other day at Best Lie.
It's beefy... But has a nice selection of ports to use.
Couple of pre-purchase questions
Hi, I have been considering the Thrive. I have several questions I hope some owner could answer:
1. I have a TripleHead2Go Digital Edition configured to 2-23" Asus monitors. Could a HDMI to DVI cable be used with the Thrive to power these two monitors thru the TH2GO?
2. Currently I have a laptop that I use wirelessly in our office to access the server files. Would this be possible on the Thrive?
3. How good is the speech to text for email composing?
Thanks for looking and especially if you can answer. Ken B

I am leaning towards the Thrive cuz of the full usb, hdmi, replaceable battery, and sd slot. However, The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is sexy! I have an Ipad, so I think I might just grab the Thrive instead.

I was in the same boat, but went with the thrive because of the included convenient full sized ports, and removable battery. For example, the HDMI adapter for the galaxy tab is 50-60$ alone. THOUGH I did hear from someone that it has a usb and micro sd slot under the back cover, though I've never actually seen it.
I have the gTablet and bought & tried the A500 and Transformer. My gTablet is rooted and bloat free, but is slow compared to any of the other devices. Display also is something only it's momma' could love.
Thrive wins for me due to the ports and 64gb sdxc cards work fine (I have a Ultra Sandisk). All three newer tablets have good and bad, but the ports combo and better display than the A500 won out.
All three have far more good points than bad, but the bad stuck out for me:
A500=
-Slip magnet
-USB host located where the tablet would normally be held
-Fine black stripes going vertically on the display (panel arrays)
-Weak wifi radio that had issues keeping connection in low signal areas
-Sleep/wake issue that persists for some, even after recent update
Transformer=
-Display less responsive than A500 or Thrive
-Proprietary connection needed for data and power
-Have to buy the keyboard to get the expanded connectivity
Thrive=
-Sleep mode issue (now fixed, BTW and an update should be anytime now).
-LED lights are obtrusive (nothing some tape can not block or reduce)
-A little thicker, but more comfortable and better to grip as a result
I got the 16gb Thrive for $402 after the $100 Staples coupon and then bought a Ultra 64gb sdxc card for $120. $522 for a 80gb tablet
None the less for all three tablets, they are all IMO worth a few hundred $ more than the gTablet, due to MUCH MUCH better displays, faster performance and more stable. Not to mention Viewsonic SUCKS.
Hi All
Could you advise on MicroSD support on Asus Smart? what is maximum capacity you have been succesfully using?
Ausu mentioned MiniSDXC up to 32GB but on some reviews I read that 64 are supported as well, on others that there were some issues with it..
What cards and what capacity you can recommended as working without issue?
What do you think about this sandisk?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDS...KM30/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360367319&sr=8-1
I use a Sandisk micro sdxc 64GB (same as the one you linked) and it works fine. Also worked with Surface RT. It's fast enough for 1080p video which is all that matters to me, I don't use it for programs.
Thank you for your answer. I have ordered this sandisk as well. Now one last thing to find the case. Otherwise all is ready and waiting for ME400 delivery. Can't wait

Case is the one thing I have not found. Amazon have the BlueRex for $15 but no picture yet and no ETA.
I've had my Vivotab Smart ME400C for a couple of weeks now. Lovin it.
DEFINITELY glad I did not go with an RT device. IMO, if you're going to go RT, might as well get an Android tablet.
From what I can see, the form factor is nearly identical to the Vivotab RT. So I shopped (my wife actually) for a case that is compatible with the RT. Seems that searching on Amazon also brings up results that reflect that the RT is compatible with the Transformer? Haven't looked in to it.
Judging by the images (I know they can be deceiving), it looks like the case should fit the ME400. Case also rotates.
The case also comes with a neoprene carrying pouch.
Hopefully, it will arrive in less than a week. Also ordered a matte screen/anti glare screen protector. These two items for less than $30 + $7 or so for shipping.
I've also ordered a 64GB Micro SDXC Sandisk memory card and OTG cable.
Asus seems somewhat inconsistent. SOME of their sites (various countries) show just SDHC and some show SDHC (SDXC compatible memory cards). And from what I've read here, I'm going to go with SDXC works for our ME400. (Crossing my fingers!)
Keep y'all posted on the stuff I've ordered.
Here are links to the items I've ordered for your reference/opinions/input.

My experience with those 360 degree cases are not pleasant. That one could be different but it looks identical to the one I got for my Nexus 7. It was very cheaply made, and the rotation was simply a button-clip design so I could spin it in a circle continuously if I wanted. Stability when it was in portrait was not strong. It would slowly start to bend backwards due to the flimsiness of the case.
I've ordered a few of the matte protectors from ebay that were for the RT Vivo. The only major difference I can see is the ME400 is ~1mm thicker than the RT version. Not sure how much that would affect cases for it. Some maybe, other's not.

I know what you mean. I've played around with a few cases from those kiosks in shopping malls. Not really thrilled with the build quality, I agree. I'm not expecting the best for sure. However, considering I have dropped my ME400 twice already (low level), but has chipped the outer bezel on both corners (one corner per drop, lol), I need to get something asap.
The thickness...well with the ME400 being slightly thicker, I'm hoping it just makes for a tighter fit.
I just hope the screen protector has the proper areas exposed, ie camera, light sensor etc. Don't want to do a hackjob on the screen protector.
Hi Guys
I got myself this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007SGV26U/ref=aw_d_var_2nd_clothing_img?vs=1
And I am really surprised by its quality. It fits perfectly and provides quite good level of protection. It's rather stiff and has those jelly bubbles inside.
Still will be looking for portfolio case.
In this matter I am waiting for MoKo case which is already available in US but still not in UK.
It looks quite nice.
Unless somebody is willing to buy me one off US amazon page and sell it to me on eBay
Ordered a folio style case that is for the Vivotab RT from amazon. Other than 1mm thickness difference, they are identical. Will let you know when it arrives how it fits.
Amazon tracking has told me my Sandisk Micro SDXC 64GB card has been delivered.
2 more hours of work to go before I can trek home and plug this baby in.
Crossing my fingers!
It's working just fine I have been using sandisk 64gb for a while without any problems.

Throughly enjoying the 64GB SDXC. I was worried because the Asus site was a little flakey in terms of information. Some of their sites show just SDHC, some sites show SDHC (SDXC compatible).

Hi guys
I have received this case and I will describe it in one word AVOID!!!!!
This is scam, this case is for some device but for sure not for ME400C. Additionally I saw a cow in my life and I don't remember it to be made of cheap plastic. Or I don't know how leather looks like.
Just to summarise I am sending it back, quality is a joke, windows button is covered same as ambient light sensor and volume down rocker.
I have attached some photos below
Probably best off with just getting the official case from ASUS
Looks more like a case for the Transformer TF600. That might explain the extra cutouts and the covering of the windows button?
This is what I thought. Still if you are in need for a case you cad go for TF600 cases if you don't mind few things not be perfectly in line. Side wise those two devices are almost same.

Same here, should arrive next week. Will post results.
Vivotab RT Screen protector arrived, which I ordered for my Smart. Dimension wise it fits, camera hole is a little off centre, so I had to do a little hackjob. for $5 and change, free shipping, no harm done. Will order an official one from Zagg probably soon.
I've already dropped my Smart twice. Top left and right corners of the bezel are already chipped. Thus I need my case (even if it's not 100% the right one) asap, and is also why I opted to get the RT screen protector for the time being.
Got mine in. The Greatshield case is nice but it does cover the volume down button slightly. Since it is for vivotab RT, I wasn't expecting a perfect fit. The light sensor is almost covered as well. It can't go into the lower stand case, it can only do the high stand style. There is no smart cover-style feature on the vivotab smart so the magnets don't put it in sleep mode. Overall, a nicely built case.
How many bought . Own a Blue XL?
Personally I wished it was Blue front and back and there was a 128gb option, I'm on the fence...
Would you order one if they added stock?
I was considering buying the blue one but all that was available when I ordered was the black or white. I ordered like an hour after they announced on October 4th. I kinda wanted to try something different and get a blue phone but I ended up with black because of my limited options. I'm still curious why the blue wasn't available even though I ordered so soon after the announcement.

What I was thinking is that most of us, at least I do. Put a case on my phones, even if it's an ultra thin tpu/skin and would probably end up covering the back anyways. Plus again, white it's my first choice. I've mainly used clear (almost all tend to yellow after a while) or smoked (yellowing doesn't show). For most of my Korean phones, I always got a mercury gel/jelly tpu that having jelly bean popping colors. I doubt they will have those available for the Pixel, but one can hope. If I end up keeping a blue, most likely use the thinnest clear I can find.

I've had a thin clear case on my last few phones too. I put a cheapie clear one from Amazon on my Pixel XL. I prefer the look and feel of no case at all, but I can be clumsy at times and find myself fumbling my phone. Clear is as close as I can get to no case and still have my extremely expensive phone protected.

Here's a link to the one I have now. It was only $8 but seems to be of good enough quality. It's pretty easy to get the phone in and out of also. I had a Spigen case on my last phone (iphone 6s+). That case was very tight. Almost felt like I was going to break my phone whenever I needed to take it out of the case.
