HTC HD2 - Help With Contacts

Hi all,
Just recieved my new HTC HD2 handset. Transferred all/most contacts from my old phone, to the SIM and placed in the new phone. However, the names show as a scramble....
eg.... If I had the name "John Smith" on my old phone, it now shows it as "-Sm;John/1"
Also, if I edit the contact, there's only one name field. However, if I add a new contact, I can add a First Name and a Surname
Just connected it to my laptop, don't have outlook, but do use thunder bird.... Is there a way a syncronising these together?
BTW: my last phone was a Sony Ericsson C902

Did you wipe the simcard before you copied all the contacts to it? My gf has something similar that occured when she combined the phone contacts and teh sim contacts. (Bit late for you to do anything about it now, of course, just asking ) as for TBird support, sorry, don't know.

I thought it was already clear TBH....

transferring contact to new htc hero

i want to transfer my contact from my old samsung g600 to my shiny new htc hero - here is the problem - the samsung wont save the contacts to the memory card and will only do it to the sim - however the old sim is on vodaphone and the new hero is locked to 3 - the bluetooh tranfer wont work so if you have any ides i would appreciate any help greatly

use Samsung pc suit and copy them to ur pc and then copy them to ur new shiny htc.

Very big e-mail problem (not displayed anymore)

hi at all,
i´m using mda vario 5 with 6.5 t-mobile rom and manila shows the preview of my emails, but suddenly my email account are no more displayed on windows, so i cant read the "old" one. I cant send or receive new ones and if i try to renew my accounts windows says, account already exist.
So pleeeease help me,,,,, its urgend... thx...

Soft reset your phone. If that doesn't work, remove your e-mail account(s) and then set it up again.

had simular problem, gmail account did not work anymore, was not in list of accounts but if i made new one with same name, windows told me there was already an account with that name. found program called mailaccountrepair. worked on my htc touch pro2

Great app, worked fine to recover Gmail acct

Did you by chance install the SWYPE keyboard? Because that changes the ModelName of your phone and it causes the same behavior.

[Q] Moving Contacts etc.

Have a HD2 and recently got an Omnia 7 through Orange and had the following problems and was wondering if I flash to a WP7 on my HD2 will I still have the same? I returned the Omnia and still using the HD2.
I did some seasrches on the fourm but didnt see anything specific, apologies if I missed them ....

I couldnt find a way to trasnfer my contacts (about 300+) from HD2 to Omnia 7 - they are stored in Microsoft MyPhone (WP7 created a different account automatically), in Outlook (couldnt see a way of syncing WP7 with Outlook) and couldnt transfer via Bluetooth (didnt support Object Exchange).
Also, WP7 instisted on downloaded all 700 contacts from my Hotmail to phone - is there a way to keep these seperate?
You would have thought that MS MyPhone should enable the transfer of contact, calendar, texts etc. unless they are stored in a completely different format.
Bluetooth - does WP7, and in particular the hacked WP7 on HD2, allow for objects to be transferred via Bluetooth?
Tethering .... HTC have confirmed with me that the HD7 DOES support tethering but operators remove that functionality. The HD2 does have the capability so I am sure someone will be able to unlock this useful feature.

Have I missed something very obvious here?
Does wp7 sync with Outlook to recover contacts, calendar, tasks etc. that are there from hd2 on wm6.5?
How did everyone else copy there contacts over, surely not one at a time?

wanna to know witch software can i use with my windows xp to manage my phone and connect internet??

u cant...u can juz sync up the contacts and calenders from the outlook with the android.....
