restoring backup file CompactFlashBackupPim

i got a new iMate sp5m but the problem is tht i sold off my iMate jam with which i had taken my contacts backup through x backup and now since the sp5m doesnt have a restore option nor does it have x backup how do i open the file compactflashbackuppim since it doesnt have any extension and how do i open it/import its contents in outlook or is there any other procedure ?

could anyone help me with a solution or a link regarding this..??

Hello,
The only way i could think of is, take your friend' device that has xBackup and restore yours. Syncronize to outlook on pc and export it out!
If you have no personal contacts or dont mind me checking them, mail your backup file to me and i will try to do it for ya when free..

Well thanks for the help offered..but i got it sorted out by taking a friends 02 mini and getting it to sync my file with outlook and then got the data on my new phone..

Extracting SMS Data from a Backup

Hello,
i have to extract my SMS Data from a Backupfile i recently made. The problem is, i had to send my Magician to repair and made a backup. But unfortunately the repair-team updated my Software and thats the reason why im not able to restore my backup on my PDA.
I dont want to lose my SMS Data because it includes 100 SMSs .. or so!
There has to be a way, to extract those data and put them on my new PDA.
Please help me. Im desperate cause i asked on many forums and you are my last hope!

I m afraid buddy as it was possible b4 updating ur software as u could have extracted them with application Jeyo mobile ext. on to ur outlook but now don't think so dat there is ne way out .

did u use sprite backup to create a backup file?

How to show SIM SMS

Hello there.
I'm using Karmba_a 9.3 EN on my trinity, and i would like to copy my SIM SMS's to my inbox folder, so i can backup them and recover them later if i need them.
Is there any way to do that?

did you try to Hard Reset after Flash?

i tried reflashing the fone and did the hard reset... the fone is still looking for the same components but i can receive and send txt messages now. However, the same problem such as no contacts and no calendar, cant make and receive calls are still there...
perhaps there is a file that i can download for this?

Use PIMbackup on your phone to back up your contacts, then save the file it makes on your PC or memory card. Or use MS Myphone.

PIM backup does have some problems working with Win 6.5 (I know, have been there). I suggest either Sprite backup or SPB Backup instead.

i'm using myphone and I dont have any backup with pim or spb...sadly, myphone stopped working for my account...so I just can see my 400 contacts in webpage but I cant sync my phone after rom flash.
so...i'm very angry, and i dont know how to copy 400 contacts from myphone web page to my pc and after to my hd2.
the error is at step 4\6: "unexpected error. try again". I tried all i could do (changed rom, changed myphone build..).

What did Microsoft support say about that?

I've been lucky enough to never have any problems with PIM backup on 6.5. SOrry if I gave a bad suggestion
