Hey guys I am totally new to andriod thought I'd drop by and say hello. Loving this phone so far. If someone could point me in the right direction with this question. Has anyone got their sprint hero rooted yet( over at unlocker there's a disclaimer so I am not trying it yet)
Welcome To Android
Unfortunately nobody rooted the hero at the moment.
My guess is when more people get it we will get root.
It would be awesome if someone proof me wrong lol
cool thought so, I am used to waiting I just switched from a palm pro (850) so I can wait for this
I have had my HD2 since it came out and love the hardware. Not crazy about the operating system blah blah blah.
Anywho, I got a text from t mobile yesterday about an updated rom that will help performance. I just installed it, and it will take a while to see if it is better.
It is ROM 2.13.531.1, Has anyone noticed a difference with this ROM?
I just hope it helps my freezing issue.
let me know.
Thanks,

Hey I am new to these phones sorry for the dumb questions but I got my phone rooted and now I am just wondering what are cool things or apps to d/l? I was thinking about over clocking it but don't want to mess the phone up. Is there any other cool things or apps to do with the phone now that it is rooted?
Thanks guys and gals!
Hey guys, i just got a replacement Atrix because my girlfriend dropped my original Atrix in the toilet, and the new Atrix keeps dieing/shutting down after the screen has been off for more than 10 minutes. Any clues or hints as to what i can do to stop this or perhaps this is just a faulty device?
More info needed on your setup, i.e. ROM, bootloader unlocked, etc.
Not sure if this was the case before i got the phone, but i did notice that the screen wouldn't turn on after it timed out the first time i turned it on.
As for my setup, i unlocked the bootloader as soon as i got it, and i rooted it also. After rooting it i put The DarkSide v3.1.0 on it.
Oh ya, one more thing, the only way to keep the phone from dieing by timing out is to set the screen to never time out... Don't know if that bit of info would be helpful.
if the issue is not resolved by a factory reset, it sounds like you were sent a faulty replacement device.
since it was unlocked and all, re flash a different ROM and see if the issue persists.
Kk, i'll put a new rom on it in a bit and re-update with the progress.
Ehhh... No luck, slapped on Alien by Kenn and still no luck... I'll wait and see if anyone else has any other helpful hints meanwhile i search other forums. Guess my best bet would be to get another replacement again?

Try flashing different kernels and also try to fix permissions on recovery. If these don't help, I am afraid you have a faulty Atrix my friend.

Hey guys!
I'm new to all of this, you could probably call me a noob when it comes to programming or modifying stuff. Recently, I've been thinking about whether or not to root my phone, and one of my main reason is because, I simply don't know what to do with it after I root the phone. It would be nice if you guys could walk me through and give me some tips.
As of right now, my phone is unrooted, or so I think. I read that you can download MIUI without rooting your phone, so I downloaded it from the PlayStore, and it's working great. However, I have heard something about it draining battery life and that you were supposed to wipe or reset battery when installing new ROM, which obviously I did not do. Is it too late to do it now?
I forgot to mention, but I am a Mac user.
Thanks

Hi,
Rule ONE: if you do not know what for you shall root phone - do NOT do this.
Furthermore: you have heard something, and you want to make the based on this rumor action. OK. I have heard that big, badass asteroid is coming, I have heard that winter is coming, but I am not building a spaceship to escape, and I am not cutting near forest to colled wood for my fireplace (yet).
Have you experienced the battery drain? If not - do nothing.
and now, we are on the rule TWO: if something works, do NOT fix it.
