Hi,
if i use rogers, can I use RC33? I read alot about MyFaves and SMS...
Any firmware should work so long as you set the APN settings correctly for data/mms.
I'm on FIDO with 5.0G, no data plan (screw 500mb on EDGE for 25$).

Hi,
I have just bought a tilt unlocked to use with my T-mobile prepaid card.
I will use the device principally like GPS and VOIP calls, this is my first PDA and I bought the tilt for the triband 3g (for the voip calls) that I can use in europe too (I'm italian) and for the inbuilt gps.
I was stupid and just discovered that t-mobile has different bands for the 3g, and that my tilt will not work with it, more I can't do an ATT plan because I have no social security number. If I would have discovered this before I would have bought a cheaper edge symbian phone with inbuilt gps
Here the questions:
There is an other carrier for 3g that will work with my tilt?
I don't want to pay a data plans with T-mobile that I will not use: is acceptable the quality of voip calls with t-mobile or I need to switch to a different carrier?
Thank you for your help
I've just fund here
att prepaid data
that att offers prepaid flat data, but I don't see nothing on their website
fund!
medianet
I asked and replied by myself
only the last question: will be possible to use voip on medianet or ATT has some limit to voip?
is possible to set up media net and have "normal" access to all websites?
I have searched and im sure the instructions are somewhere on here but I cant find it. I have a tmo branded hd2 with stock rom and im trying to get internet and mms when i have my 3g disabled. I do have the data plan but I still want to configure the phone to do mms/internet over edge.
Hey guys,
I have the HTC hero unlocked version from Asia. before the 2.1 update, i was able to use the tmobile $10 web services. i took the internet off for a while, updated to 2.1 and would love to get data back for $10 but i can't seem to get it work. i tried epo.tmobile.com as well, and whatever combination i can find on the internet..
- so first of all, is this even possible now with the 2.1 update (or it really doesn't matter which version you have)???
- if so, what are the correct APN settings for an unlocked htc hero with web2go service?
Sorry if this counts as "digging up posts", but I was searching for something along the same lines and came across this post. It's only about a month old so to answer your question..
T-Mobile now reserves epc.tmobile.com as the APN for smartphone plan. To access internet with web2go (9.99 plan), you need to use the APN http://internet2.voicestream.com
Enjoy!
Hello, I had originally purchased a Samsung Focus unlocked for use on the Rogers network in Canada. I had no data until I installed Samsung's network profile app and switched it to Rogers. I have since switched to Koodo as a carrier. I once again have no data only this time there is not an option on the network profile application.
Any ideas on how to get data?
EDIT: Sorry, and do so if I wanted to not use Chevron's unlock method then get Samsung tools. So as in, is there any other way.
For data, you don't need the Samsung Network tool at all. You just need find out the APN for your new carrier and put it in. The Network tool is only needed for MMS.
Here is the APN for Koodo:
◦APN: sp.koodo.com
I recently just switched from Softbank to Docomo in Japan, and I was using an unlocked DHD (purchased in Korea). On Softbank, nearly everything worked. When I moved to Docomo, I gave the phone to my girlfriend so she could upgrade from her old Galaxy S.
We got everything set up, as close to the same as we could as her other phone. The voice works, but the data doesn't.
There are three APNs available.
mopera U(Smartphone)
mopera U
spmode
spmode is what her old phone was set to, so of course, we set it up using that one. Voice works fine, but data will not connect. I got a data signal using the mopera U APN, but since she doesn't subscribe to the service we couldn't download any data (I'm assuming that by subscribing, she will be able to use that APN).
My questions are as follows:
Has anyone successfully gotten the DHD to work on NTT Docomo?
Is there a special APN I need to use that won't incur extra charges?
Is it a radio problem (ie do I need to flash a different radio)?
Can anyone confirm that by subscribing to the Mopera U service (extra 300 yen/month) it will work?
Currently, I'm using the Android Revolution, but I've also tried Ice Cold Sandwich, and each had the same results.
