Until now I developed Windows Mobile software using a HTC Touch for testing. Now I switched to a Touch Diamond and somehow, all of my icons are displayed have of the size they should be. For instance, I have an icon of the size 64*64 and it is displayed 32*32 on the phone. The emulator displays it correctly. Does anybody know why that happens?
The screens are different, maybe this is the problem
QVGA (320 x 240) vs. VGA (640 x 480) screens.

Just want to ask... if i will install an apps in the magician... will the resolution of the interface of the program will be scaled to the size of the magician...
For example... if i will install a 3rd party calendar apps... when it was installed to a blue angel, it fits on its screen... what will happen if i install it into magician, will it fit also on its screen?
They are both portrait 240x320, it's just that the Magician has a 2.8" screen while the Blue Angel has a 3.5" screen. One can say that the image is clearer or crisper on the Magician because it's smaller, but they are of the same resolution.
General question, what programs are people using to change the backgrounds of the Today screen?
In addition, does that program work in conjunction with MvrTrue VGA?
thx

OK I figured it out, but what pixel size is the today screen
640x480?
To complicate things, I noticed that when switching between QVGA and VGA resolution (using Mvr VGA toggle) the following Today backgrounds are tiled:
HTC Default
Guava Bubbles
Windows Mobile Green
But the following background does not tile in VGA resolution:
Windows Default
Is there any way to center the screen instead of tiling it, or even stretch it?
I'm trying to get my .net application to look better on VGA screens. I see that the VGA device automatically uses larger fonts, so my 9 Point font is no longer 9 pixels high.
How do I determine (programatically) how tall the font is actually going to be? Do I have to run graphics.MeasureString() against it?
I have tried the Samsung user interface on my phone, and I loved it only, one problem, no one has resized the icon to be finger friendly with a 480 x 640 VGA screen, so if any one can help that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Audible.com is a provider of audio books.
When I installed AudiblePlayer 5.5.0.6 for PocketPC on my HTC Touch Diamond, I noticed that the original skin was only 240x320 pixels.
I modified it to fill the 480x640 screen on my Diamond, by smoothly scaling the skin images and basically doubling the coordinates and font sizes in the AudibleGreen.ini text file.
It will probably work fine on a Touch HD as well, but will not fill the entire screen.
Attached is the modified skins folder, simply overwrite it in the folder where you installed the original AudiblePlayer:
What a timely post! I just signed up for Audible today (been thinking about doing it for months) and noticed the same thing. Came here an poof! There's your solution!
Thanks.
