I ask to you, if this is an hardware problem or only a software one.
Thanks in advance!

Could be any number of things but that's mostly due to the fact you listed absolutely no actual information about your problem. Care to elaborate on it and what lead you up to this point?

What radio are you running?
It should be 1.22.14.11. The "newer" radio has lots of issues

Ok, sorry for the missing information, the radio I've mounted is the 1.22.12.29
I've the HSPL10.95.3000
The overheating problem persists also if the wifi, bluetooth are disabled and the airplanemod is on.

Opening my M3100

hi
i think that my m3100 is not working so well with the radio anymore due to a few connections needing to be resoldered, at least thats what i am hoping, does anyone know of a guide to help me through it or any clues?
thanks all
Is the unit insured? Would that be an easier route to go down?
yeah but before i spend the £50 excess i wanted to see if i could do this as i have all the tools at my disposal at work so can do it, i just don't know what i am looking for

You sure the radio is actually physically damaged?

Good question, it would be a pretty unusual fault and I might suspect software first unless it's had a good battering!!
Mike
well i have tried flashing many types of radios, it has the latest bootloader 2.10, IPL 1.04 and many many different rom's and each 1 exhibits the same probem, the radio will fail when i move to a stronger signal area, or to 3g from gsm, or when i try to make a call. i only think its phyiscal as a few other people have said they get the same problems as me and find after opening it and "fixing" it it works once again.

What did they fix?? and how?? There is a known issue that causes the phone to drop calls when moving in and out of 3G areas. The phone tries to swap to the "band" with the strongest signal 2 or 3G. Frequently folk report that when this happens they lose the call. The workaround here is to turn of 3g and only use GSM band. This can be done in settings or by using a "band switcher" perhaps danielherrero's one.

Mantle Goes to Sleep and Can not be powered back up

Hi,
I hope someone could help me with an issue we are seeing.
We have two Mantle devices, one on WM6 and the other on WM6.1.
On both devices we are seeing an issue where the device is left for a period of time and the device goes to sleep, another period of time goes by and we then press the power button and nothing happens, we press the power button a few more times and still nothing. We then have to resort to warm booting the device.
1. Has any one else has this issue?
2. Is there a fix for this issue?
Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to your reply.

also have this issues
Hello pauldiston,
we also face this problem here. We currently have 7 Sedna's on duty and all of them have this problem. Especially on monday we have to reset all of them.
I have not found a solution yet, but as we are not the only ones having this it has to be something HTC is responsible for...
Regards,
Andreas
Hi,
I have heard that the O2 have stopped selling the Mantles because of some serious issues with the devices.
In our case, we are thinking that the particular problem is related to the compatibility between the device and an SDIO scanner. However we are yet to confirm this.
Thanks
Paul Diston
Hi, for what it's worth -- I've been using my Sedna intensively since May, running both WM 6 and WM 6.1. I haven't ever run into this issue and I've generally found the phone to be stable. I wonder if it has to do with the O2 version of the ROM, or if it might involve specific software or SDIO devices that you're using?
Alan
Hi,
We suspect it is an issue with the SDIO device however are yet to confirm this as O2 have stopped supporting this device.
Thanks
Paul
Paul,
Did you confirm whether or not this was caused by the SDIO device?
Can I ask what device it was?
Thanks
Alec
Hi,
It did look that way based on the testing we are doing however we never got it confirmed.
We were using the O2 Mantle device and Socket SDIO scanner.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Is it true that 02 have stopped supporting the Mantle?
The company i work for is considering purchasing quite a lot of these & i don't see the point if we will have support issues

Anyone got more info on this please?
I had the Standby of Death SOD this is when the phone fails to come out of standby with a power button press. This issue only affects some people on some networks. I'm not sure if its a network problem or a software problem but as only a minority of people have it, I suspect its mainly a network problem there is a software solution.
The solution is to change the phone settings band option from auto 3G/2G to either 3G Only (WCDMA + UTMS 2100 in Europe) or 2G Only (GSM + AUTO) depending on your requirements.
Also read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540943&highlight=standby&page=2where the resolution was to get a new SIM.
Obviously this only solves the problem when the crash is because of the sim and/or settings which impact the sim. To rule out a software cause its best to start with a hard reset.
hi we use the p6500 with sdid 1210 scanner we get the same problem if left the the software running and it goes into stand by the unit needs to b reset i have found the problem to b the the software we run to record the chip numbers not the core wedge drivers for the sdid chip.solution is end the software we use to record the numbers on and unseat the chip.next time i get intouch with our surpport i will ask about a solution to the problem hopefully it will help others on here.....just to be nosey what system do the other replies to this thread use them for we run the scanner for recording the oxygen cylinder movement in ambulance station's with surpport from assettrack..

[Q] Carrier Connection Issue

Ok let me start this off by saying. I read through a lot of threads and none specifically address my current question.
Since switching from Windows Mobile 6.5 to Android. My unlocked HD2 doesn't hold a good signal. My network is AT&T. Before I could hold a signal on Edge without a problem. Now since my radio is 2.08.0000 SPL. I can't get anything better than GPRS with 2 bars or basically with no signal at all. Is there another radio I can use that supports Android and the WP7 roms without causing myself further issues?
Just as a FYI to those who alway believe no one is reading the zillions of threads or using google. I am and I haven't found an exact answer to my question that's why I'm posing it here with the hopes that someone had this issue and knows what the fix is. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

If anybody has a similar issue. I upgraded my radio to 2.15.50.14 and my carrier signal has improved. I've been running solid on Edge when I'm not connected to a router.

Have found that sometimes it helps to remove the battery from the phone for 30 seconds or so. After booting, wifi is back to normal.
If that doesnt work, a restart of the router (at least 10 sec without power) also have helped sometimes.
Good luck!
i have tried to remove the battery restarted the router. flashed new radio etc. i run android on it now

HyperDroid-CM7-v5.3.0[a2sd][CyanogenMod7 LEO 2.3.7][seader_R7] ROM whit RADIO 2.15.50.14
so iam guessing hardware error. i have tryed the red button reset and hardreset whit the volum keys and powerbutton. still not working
EDIT:
i have tryed flashing rom and radio again
This could very well be ROM/Kernel related you would most definitly get a much more specific answer if you were to post in the ROM thread. there is probably more than just you going through this same issue.
in the same vein as the post above, i recommend testing wifi with STOCK WM6.5 to eliminate the (community-made) ROMs (like android, WP7, etc) as possible contributors to the issue.
if you get the same problematic results with the STOCK WM6.5 ROM, then it very likely is a hardware issue. if things are fine with STOCK WM6.5, then do consider a different android build and/or post your findings in the relevant ROM thread so that the chef and users can look into your issue.
if it is a hardware issue, i have read several threads here which seem to indicate that an antenna cable might be loose. a strong indication that this cable is loose is that bluetooth also suffers from a significant drop in range (because wifi and bluetooth share the same antenna). these threads seem to indicate that fixing the cable is somewhat easily possible if you are comfortable with opening the device and fixing it yourself.

A very good advice IMO.
Also it may be a losen contact between wifi/bluetooth module and correspondent antenna: both cases imply to open your hd2..., after this point could be an easy fix!
Good luck!

gps lock problem

i have an i8000 with WM6.5. everything works perfectly beside GPS - i can't lock to any satellite with any GPS software. i've tried and installed numerous fixes, registry fixes and changing options in some service menu (i know that there was an option XTRA). nothing helped, all i got was a huge battery drain. i guess the only thing left is try flash radio. may i just reflash that rom component, may i use any version available, and is there a specific one you'd recommend?
thanks in advance
