Hi,
I just try install google map from market. it told me that it install unsuccessfully. the file come with it is not signed. However, I could run map now, but when I input some address search , it collapsed. what should I do. Thanks you.
This issue should be cleared up, what rom are you using?
I have no issue installing it in mine, nor ivan's.

I remember I didnt do the step 3 of GrdLock.
That is
ECHO 1) Install jcase's live wallpaper update
ECHO 2) Install Launcher2 (Nexus Launcher)
ECHO 3) Install Flan Gallery (Nexus Photo Gallery)
ECHO 4) Remove HTC lockscreen
Does this affect the google map?
no, it would be the rom.

a solution to this is most likely to remove the apk from /system/app. this can b done a few ways but this one will do: adb shell rm /system/app/Maps.apk
anyhow its most likely due to the apps sigs. as in it was signed with test keys or something. also i know sometimes some apps wont update from /system/app i always add apps that can or will update to /data/app and symlink it in my roms. also i do this with larger apps like maps, streets, quickoffice, and so on. its a good practice i think. its worked out well for me

Tried when that problem popp'd up on another leak rom i was using, that caused errors for me. This issue should be solved in all current roms.
I just switch to ivan's rom. it works fine.
Not my work, sed took ivan's rom and added the the sholes fingerprint.
Full Market should work fine in it now.

ah alrighty. ill search for it. since i dont see a link in the OP.
edit: got it. twas in the later pages of your market fix thread.
EDIT2: flashing over an existing Ivan .8 with a dalvik-only wipe works great. got all my previously purchased apps now and no apps wiped

Without it working, I'm 1" away from doing a wipe.
Some claim success without a wipe, some say they need it, and some say they wait a couple of days.
I'm playing the waiting game.

I tried a dalvik-wipe then flash but I still couldn't find tapatalk in the market. I had to do a full wipe.
pkopalek said:
I did this, exactly, only using dalvik, from my existing 0.8t2.
adb shell
su
cd system
cd app
rm -r VVMStub_v3.apk
.... says it's Read Only.
trying to chmod it, can't it's Read-Only (despite my superuser access)
All in system/app is Read-Only. I can't even chmod.
Can't remove VVMStub_v3.apk
teeter.apk
com.android.launcher2.apk
that's all I tried, then I quit and I flashed my nandroid restore point back to the original 0.8t2 from BEFORE market fix.
Now I can manipulate my apps again.

you forgot to mount
adb remount
adb shell
rm -r /system/app/VVMStub_v3.apk
that's it
Using the Market Fix Ivan's ROM. Having an issue with app updates now.
About 1/2 a dozen of apps had updates pop up for me today. The update would download then go into "install" then return an "insufficient memory" error. Strange thing is that if the update was 700kb or less, the update would install. Larger updates like Handcent (~1.7M) would error out.
An uninstall and redownload/install of the problematic apps would work so I wasn't stuck other than resetting up apps like Handcent.
jcase did try to help me on IRC but I'm a tard when it comes to trying to copy/paste from the cmd window.
Im using the Root Explorer v2.10.2(which is the latest) to delete some unwanted system apks in system/apk folder, and im pretty sure i have already deleted those apks, but when i go into Settings->applications->manage applications, i still can find those deleted apks. Altho they are like 0 bite in memory, but still looks very annoying to me. Is there any way to get rid of those things in 'manage applications'? I have tried to search keywords in RootExplorer, and deleted the apk folders under data/data, and reboot my phone, and they are still there..
Also, if i click on any of those apks, "settings" will FC.

hmm.. what is fix_permissions?
i searched on google and it says:
From a running ROM
To execute the fix_permissions script on your phone:
Open the "Terminal" app from the application drawer.
Type
su
fix_permissions
when i type fix_permissions in terminal, it indicates fix_permissions not found, i also tried fix_permissions.sh, still not found

LOL, problem solved, by editing the packages.xml under data/system, somehow the apk details are recorded in that file, so i just delete the corresponding codes and reboot my phone, walllllaaaaaaaaaa
AND, thanks a lot for your guide, LOL

Glad that you got it solved.
Also I hope that you don't mind by I edited your title because your problem wasn't specifically related to the Root Explorer app. This problem would occur if you had used any other means of removing the system app. By editing the title it'll make it easier for those that need assistance with a similar issue post their problems and find solutions. Adding [Solved] is effective to let them know that a resolution is available within the thread.
And it's not my guide, it's a reference for others that can't find the answer with the apparently evasive search feature.

What App are you using, as I am trying to delete sprints bloatware off of my fully rooted Evo, but all the apps I download do not show it in the list of apps installed.

If you are indeed fully rooted then download Root Manager from the market, hit the Remount /system as r/w option then go to Remove system appl. that would do the trick.
i just recently resolved a similiar issue myself, after trying at least 3 different uninstall apps. i simply rebooted the system into recovery mode, ran my recovery-windows.bat from the evo-recovery.zip that was part of the rooting process, then used adb shell, and at the # typed
mount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
then you can do cd /system/app and then ls to see a list of the files in that dir. each apk file is a specific program. use rm FileName.apk and also rm FileName.odex if there is a corresponding odex file. when did, type reboot, and youre all set
if you install as system app and then install a later version of google play as an update, this works with kindle fire, thats how people were able to get google play working this may work if you uninstall newer vending apk/ remove it from the gapps zip.

Crap .. ill keep looking around and trying to think of a solution and will start messing around later when I get home.
This is the google services framework that was packaged with the vending.apk : https://www.dropbox.com/s/2rgpp75p60dl5ls/GoogleServicesFramework.apk
I dont know if its modified or an old version or whatever but might work (I just don't know if it will mess up other gapps) Its worth a try but I'm not too optimistic
You need to install the GoogleServicesFramework and reboot the device before attempting vending.apk.
