Microsoft Exchange & ActiveSync Error - Touch HD General

Hi all, since yesterday I am facing with the following error: 0x85010014 as provided by ActiveSync 4.5 while attempting to connect to my corporate MS Exchange Server.
It is worth to be noticed that till yesterday morning the process seems to work fine, then suddenly it did not work anymore apparently without any change in my Blackstone device.
I attempted to perform several steps (e.g. remove the account & re-create it, etc. etc.) but without success :-(
Could you please help me ?
Thanks a lot in advance

O2 Exec and Activesync 4

Just about to open Windows (on the top floor) and throw this thing through it!
Been waiting for months to upgrade to exec from xda2s, and 18hours after opening the box i'm ready to junk it. Cannot get it to sync at all. Read all the forums, zone alarm off, norton off, tried running as4.1, and still i'm getting dizzy watching this little green wheel going round and round and round and round and round..... 'connecting'
Does anybody have a work around or managed to get it to work. Without this facility the units useless to me, apart from maybe a quick £300 quick profit on ebay.
Help please.
I had a simlar problem, until I reluctantly ditched all my other Active sync partnerships (like my xda2 PPc partnership). then created a new partnership and it worked fine.
Good luck
Hi, Stupid question, but where do the older profiles live on my pc? I've looked in the activesync folder but no clues.
Open Avtivesync, go to file, click on mobile device, check and see what devices you have listed. then go to Delete mobile device.
This realy was a quick fix for me , you should be able to have multiple patnerships, perhaps some one else could suggest a better solution.
Thanks for your advice, but it looks as though I had deleted all previous profiles when I did a clean install of as4.1, and still getting dizzy!
Thought about calling O2, but quickly realised I would have better luck just ringing a random number out of the phone book.
I've tried every combination in the connection settings box, still no joy.
Need a solution soon before I reach for the Scotch and Razor Blades.
I've completely given up with this thing. Managed to get it back in the box (which was a minor challenge compared to getting Activesync to work), somebody please save me from ebay.
Do you have you Exec running in Corporate mode? I found that in this mode it won't sync; you just get "Connecting"...and nothing.
I switch to basic or personal and it syncs with no problem. Myabe this will help.
If the machine you are trying to sync with is connecting to an Exchange Server then you will have difficulties.
Try syncing the calendar, contacts and tasks direct with the exchange server and do the rest (notes etc) with the laptop.
Activesync 4 is so rubbish I have resorted to wirelessly syncing direct to my exchange server.
For a while I was cursing the Exec as I had just got my 2s just how I wanted it when I up(?)graded but I remembered that half the fun of these things is solving the problems, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time!
The main thing that you need to remember with ActiveSync 4.x is that you must install this before connecting your EXEC.
If you don't the microsoft driver gets installed instead (and in my case) no amount of deleting/reinstalling was able to recover the situation.
Whilst I was in the middle of that crisis I did some basic PD to try and rectify. Including
a) Installing AS 4.1 build 4807 on another system (preferably clean installed say XP SP2)
b) trying another cable
c) Doing a hard reset of your device and then repeating above steps
d) (obviously!) removing all previous versions of ActiveSync (also afterwards using regedit to remove any final traces and erasing C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync) and then re-installing
I have tried to include some Device Manager pictures of a working system for reference purposes
Throught trial, and very much swearing at the walls, I've discovered the following:
1. If I have the XDA Exec switched on and connect the USB cable, then I can guarantee a 95% failure to connect.
2. If I turn off the Exec, by the power-switch on side, then connect the USB cable and just leave ActiveSync to power everything up, then I have a 95% success connection rate.
On very odd occasions, I've had to disconnect the Exec, turn it off, then plug the USB in again. And once I restarted the workstation first - probably didn't have to, but was going for a coffee anyway.
AGHHH
I had a failure with Active Sync and established that it still worked with my 2 C500's so I phoned orange.
Eventually made my way to level 3 (highest) tech support to be told that its microsofts problem and that they have withdrawn Active Sync 4 until they can fix it.
I can connect to my M5000, move files via explore but as for the necessity of syncing itand my contacts..............forget it

Interaction with Outlook
My sync problems went away when I configured Zonealarm to allow it to connect.
I also had to install Outlook, which I don't like as I use Thunderbird for Email. Sync would still not work untill I allowed Outlook to be the default email client. However, I have not defined any accounts on Outlook and Thunderbird does not seem to mind.

Click to collapse
I got a whole series of increasingly depressed emails from my TBird install after I stuck Outlook on my lappie... In the end I had to take it out for the evening, give it some new extensions and what-not before it started talking to me again...

Help with Active Sync

Okay, before anyone gets upset at me aking the question I have done the following...
1. Google search
2. MS search
3. Search here
That being said I have had no joy. Here is the problem.
Today, for no apparent reason (i.e. I did not install any new programs) Active Sync stopped working, or at least the part where it syncs to my Exchange server. I get the following error message "A critical error has occured. The next time you sync you will lose changes made since your last sussecful sync."
I have tried the following to no avail..
1. Soft reset
2. Uninstalling Active Sync and reinstalling (both 4.1 and 4.2 beta)
3. Hard reset
For what it is worth I am running summitters AKU2.3 test2 and the 2.25 radio ROM but since I got those last week and had no problems I am guessing it is not them.
I did not have my sync cable at work and do not have outlook at home but but it seems that at home the local PC connection works fine. Is is possible that my IT guy changed something on the server or is it something on the device.

email doesn't work but wifi is ok after syncing with AS 4.2

Hi,
I have a really weird issue. I'm really flabbergasted about this one, I think this is a tricky one.
But maybe some can help me out.
I've got a Qtek 9100 with the latest official firmware (2.18.7.6 NLD) so a dutch version.
I use a company SIM card wich has GPRS disabled so I have to use WIFI for internet.
Everything goes well (both browsing as well as email).
But then when I sync my agenda/contacts (none of the other items) with active sync (I tried 4.1 and 4.2) then email doesn't work anymore but WIFI is fine: I still have an IP and I can browse.
The error I get is that the device cannot set up a connection and wants me te set up a modem connection profile (wich I don't have since I only am allowed to use wifi).
Again this error is reported by the emailclient (tmail.exe) but IE works fine!
So somehow after a sync-action with active sync the email client wants to use a GPRS/CSD connection to read mail. I never told it to do so!
I tried the following to solve this issue but with no result:
- I used Memmaid and Check Notifications to find any problems but that was ok.
- I deleted all profiles in active sync (both on the PC as well as on the Qtek).
- I disabled the phone functionality (I hope the phone would understand not to use GPRS/CSD)/
- I tried a soft-reset
The only way to solve this is by a hard reset, but then I have to sync again and I'm back at the beginning of my problem.
Can anyone help me please! I'm desperate.
THanks in advance

Problem with active synchronization

Hi,
I recently bought a TyTN but have been having lots of problems with synchronization. I keep seeing "Synchronization error" without any error code or anything. I usually have to reboot both my computer and the device to get it to resync again. I have had a Prophet before this and had similar problems. I was hoping that the TyTN will not have this problem. I even upgraded to AS 4.2, and that didn't seem to do anything. Any advice on settings or anything else I may need to try? Thanks

Activesync Error: 85002003

I have started to get this error whilst trying to Sync my Wizard.
I basically have the pushmail activated but stays connected to the the GPRS connection and Sync's the Normal Partnership but not the Exchange one.
Anyone got an idea how to fix this or do a workaround.
I have got this on AS 4.2 and also AS 4.5 (Beta)
Tis annoying as generally a Hard reset will sort it but I dont want to go down that route again
Anyone know of a patch for this issue ?
You just need delete the partership in your desktop and re-sync.
best luck.
More problems
This problem also appeared for me the other day, and deleting the partnership, performing a soft reset and reestablishing it does not work. Nothing has been changed (manually - I don't preclude some kind of automatic update) on the Exchange server, the network or the phone itself. Moreover, my colleague (who is the Exchange server administrator) has just bought a Hermes/Vario II and has the same problem. Is a hard reset necessary for this? Has anyone else managed to resolve this problem?
The problem just appeared for me on Monday afternoon during a routine sync, and I hadn't seen it before.
I had the 85002003 error with a client the other day.
I fixed it by just upgrading to the latest version of ActiveStink. No idea what caused it, but the upgrade fixed it.
ive been having this same problem for last few weeks. if anyone figures out whats causing this please post a fix for it.
Has anybody resolved this issue? I am having the same problem... Until a couple of days ago I was able to connect via ActiveSync to my Exchange server and syncronize all my items. Then, all of a sudden it stopped working and I get the 85002003 error. I have not changed anything on either my HTC Hermes/Cingular 8525 or my computer with my Outlook 2007 and ActiveSync 4.5 setup. I can sync with my desktop just fine. Also, I can sync over the air (OTA) using GPRS/EDGE/3G with the Exchage Server just fine...
Any help will be appreciate, please.
Thank you,
Cameron
I had the same error a couple of times and it was usually the result of an upadte to a task in outlook.
The fix I have is to go to activesync (either on phone or PC) choose options and unselect everything except email. Select ok and re-sync and then add the other items back in. Works for me each time but haven't found a permanent fix.
